Larry is awesome! He is a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to learn from. Every workout was designed specifically for my needs: his goal was to get me to a point where I could work out on my own. I now have a full workout schedule that I do at home combining dumbbells, equipment and body weight. His gym is small in size but huge in function. There is nothing missing and always 2 or 3 ways to do the same exercise. Larry is beyond accommodating as far as schedules go - he'll always reschedule if you need to cancel - even last minute - which of course I tried not to do! You can tell he loves what he does and really wants his clients to get the best experience they can - even for someone like me who really doesn't like to work out! Larry is motivating but not pushy - he let me go in the direction that I chose while giving me gentle pushes along the way. I highly recommend Larry at Body Basics Fitness if you are looking for someone to help you help yourself.

I selected Larry as my personal trainer because his approach to training was not just exercises and diet plan. He spends time explaining the movements, impact and variations of the exercises. We also discuss the successes and challenges during the week and how to improve for the next week.The coaching is a key component of his services, as he listens, motivates and promotes progressive changes that are sustainable, not drastic restrictions. He incorporates movements that do not require equipment and fit into a busy schedule. He knows when to push forward and when to stop to prevent injury. He stresses that tracking and measuring what you eat and do is important. I am able to reflect on how tracking contributes to my results.I have achieved a lot in my first 3 months, as I lost weight, reduced inflammation, and can move better. This is success for me. I basically feel better about myself and look forward to better health, slowly but surely. Larry is knowledgeable about the body and how to get results. I highly recommend Larry as a personal trainer.

Since childhood I have had lifelong knee issues that prevented me from playing sports, running or being an athletic person. I had surgeries to help with my knee issues, but the last surgery that was unavoidable had left me with less mobility than I already had. Physical therapy had only done so much, I still had the limitations in certain movements and instability/popping going down stairs.A friend had started training at Body Basics fitness with Larry and recommended I try him. I decided to invest the time and money in myself and have one on one help to strengthen and overcome my issues. Since training with Larry over a year ago I no longer have the popping in my knee going down the stairs, my legs are stronger and I am building the confidence to do things I have avoided doing in fear of getting hurt. Not only are my knee issues better but I have lost weight along the way, building muscle throughout my body. Working with Larry with his knowledge, kindness and full focus on me has helped me excel on target areas with visual results overall.Thank you Larry for all of your kindness and expertise in helping me be a better, more mobile and stronger individual. I highly recommend Larry - he is an amazing trainer and great to work with - he made it FUN!. I was looking for help with a program to help me tone and build strength; it had been many years since I went to the gym regularly. Larry more than delivered - he took time to explain each exercise, and helped me build a program that I could do at home. He gave me the confidence to take what I learned and make it my own. I highly recommend Larry for those looking to start a program or to build on what they already do.

Larry is an amazing trainer with the heart of a teacher who is committed to his student’s wellbeing. During the course of training with him, I not only achieved my primary goal of losing weight but found new appreciation for strength and weight training. Prior to training with him, I didn’t have much experience lifting weights and always found it daunting. Larry taught the ABCs of strength and weight training and how to complement it with the right nutrition. His nutrition plans were customized to my goals, body, and dietary restrictions, and they were designed to go hand-in-hand with the training schedule.I found Larry’s way of training to be unique as it not only covers the physical and nutritional aspects of fitness but also psychological. I started with a singular goal of loosing weight and on my to achieving it became knowledgeable about exercising, nutrition, and the power of marginal changes over extended periods of time. I reached out to Larry when I moved to the area searching for a new gym. As a golf professional I was looking for a specific workout regimen that fit my schedule and overall goals. His friendly and enthusiastic attitude and outlook on personal fitness was great. I believe Larry really knows his stuff and can help anyone in their goals for a better life no matter the age. After working with him I feel stronger and more stable in my golf swing. He has taught me numerous workouts and stretches to improve my game. Highly recommend!

I was going to a chiropractor in the same office as Larry. One day I popped my head in to say hi as I was curious about what he did. Larry was very friendly and welcoming and a posture expert (something I needed)! While he works with all ages, he especially helps those of us who are older. I was having a shoulder problem that two chiropractors could not fix. I signed up with Larry and he cured my shoulder issue the very first day! He gave me tips on how to exercise for my personal issues and needs and was professional, kind and knowledgeable. He made the workouts fun and I now have a program for myself that is not crushing but fun and easily takes care of my needs. A real bonus is that I can adjust the program to be more challenging as I progress. I would highly recommend Larry for your personal body coach.

Larry is the real deal. I’ve felt with a lot of muscle pain throughout my entire spine for about 5 years now. I’ve seen multiple doctors and physical therapists with 0 relief or direction on how to approach this issue. I spoke with Larry over the phone for about 30 minutes. He asked questions and listened to what I had to say. With that, he was able to help me find the right type of trainer that can help me and is in my area. After I found one Larry took it another step and reached out to the trainer and relayed all of the things we talked about as well as gave him recommendations for how to approach my training. I’m now on the path to being pain free for the first time in over 5 years. Larry really helped me get to this point and even tho he doesn’t live anywhere near me he was able to help me immensely!! He is very knowledgeable and has a great understanding of overall fitness.

Thank you Larry for giving me the tools necessary to reach my goals. As an avid 67 year old golfer who looks forward to his golfing weekends, I'm starting to feel stronger and confident having worked with you over the last 12 weeks. I strongly believe the mobility, stability, balance, and isolated strength programs you instilled in me will not only help my golf game, but beyond that, my entire quality of life. Following your program allows me take control of my body and realize the benefits, rather then my body controlling me and limiting how I live my life. Eliminating the daily aches and pains. Wow! I not only look forward to this golf year, but years to come, knowing that I have done something positive, that will keep me enjoying the game, and doing the things most important to me.

I have been working with Larry for the last six months. In that time I have completely changed my health and my body. Not only have I lost almost 20 lbs of unwanted fat, but I have also added a few pounds of lean muscle too! My outlook has changed too. Larry has taught me how to create a new lifestyle that I can manage on my own. I understand the importance of nutrition and I have created new habits around my goals. Larry’s nutrition program is not a diet. I’ve been there and done that. No, this is something that works and that I can comfortably do. Larry is great to work with. In my training sessions, he pushes me harder than I’d push myself, and I have grown to appreciate that. He also knows my limits and I have complete confidence in working with him. Larry is an absolute GEM and I am so lucky to have found him. After years of neglecting myself after raising my three kids, I decided it was time to take care of ME with some one-on-one training. Larry does a thorough assessment first and then sets his clients on a path of awareness, improvement, and empowerment. He is kind, patient, and incredibly encouraging. I always look forward to my sessions with him, and I leave his gym feeling energized and stronger. I KNOW I am in the best possible hands.

I went to Larry this summer to “help me get my body back”, as I had gained 30+ pounds over the past couple of years and was totally disgusted with what I looked like, felt like and completely lost on where or how to start. What I thought was going to be just a physical workout, turned out to be an entire empowerment program. Larry gave me all the tools I needed to change my life! He taught me how to alter my diet to create a new and healthier metabolism. Not only did he teach me a better way to eat, but also the physical training made me stronger and more confident. He is truly one of the most inspirational and motivational people I have ever met and I am grateful for not only the physical changes that took place while under his care, but also the mental and emotional skills to reduce stress, increase energy, avoid injury, and promote sports abilities. Brought my teenage son (a student-athlete) to Coach Larry to complete a Functional Movement Screening for him, as he has suffered with chronic back pain. Coach Larry not only took us through that process thoroughly, he also provided individualized recommendations for my son. He educated him on technique and shared his knowledge of body specifics that would be beneficial to my son in his training and sport. Highly recommend!
