June 2024 by Thrifting For Treasure
I have been coming here for years with no problems up until yesterday. They had an item with a yellow sticker for $3. On the outside of the item with the yellow sticker the item price for $3 and the name of the item. Inside the item was a tag for $8. The $8 tag look like it was loose as if someone took an $8 tag off something else and put it inside the item. The cashier was confused on what to do and had to get the female manager to let her know what to sell it for. Obviously the one with the yellow sticker with the name of the item on it for $3 would be the correct price to sell it for but the manager said $8. I'm not trying to fight over $5 but you could obviously tell the manager did not want to sell something like that for $3 and figured I go in there a lot that they can weasel another $5 out of me. To me it's not about the little amount of money difference it's just the principle of the fact that,
1. Everything is donated
2. You could tell that the yellow sticker on top of the item was the actual price because it had what the item was written underneath the price thing the $8 tag just had $8 but nothing else written on it of what it was so it was clearly put in the item from some other item and had nothing to do with the item I was going to buy.
It is truly messed up to do that to customers who have been coming for years to try to get more money out of them because of some either negligent customer or volunteer putting a different tag inside the item and then making a customer pay more money because of negligence or stupidity on someone else's behalf. I told them no thank you and you could see it was not the answer they were looking for but I don't care I won't be back because that is poor practice.
Unfortunately I never thought I would have to result in leaving this thrift shop a ⭐ waiting as I always had a good time finding stuff at this place.

I have been going to this thrift shop since I was literally 4 years old. I cannot explain to you how much deep cut vintage thrift gold I have found here in my teenage years and my 20s. this place is a GEM of South Jersey. I would gate keep if it wasn't all for charity. shopping here is literally building and helping community. the volunteers are literal angels. 100000/10

Always rude. They will continually tell you ( no matter what day or time ) they are understaffed . I have left my name , address and phone at least 4 times to volunteer. The 2 volunteers that were there , were chit chatting. No customers . When I wanted to provide my details again , the woman looked at me like I asked for a kidney . Everyone has bad days , I get it. However these women never have one good day . I'm glad they never called me. Can't imagine being around such miserable women . By the way , if someone wants a damn receipt for the donations that's their right. Your eye rolling is beyond unacceptable

My boyfriend and I found many great things here. Though they don't have the biggest selection of movies compared to other thrift shops. They are priced better than the others.

I went to the Holly Thrift shop to drop off a few donations and was confused about where the back entrance was. So I went through the front door to drop off my donations. The volunteer read me the riot act about coming through the front door. When I explained that I couldn't find the donation door in the back she proceeded to scold me even more. I've lived in this area for many years and have dropped off many donations to your thrift shop. This is the first time I've ever experienced someone so totally rude. I'm spreading the word concerning my treatment and will not frequent your store again. Very sad that people can't treat others the way they wish to be treated!

The clothes were all very cute and the staff was kind, but the sizes are mostly large so I had a bit of trouble finding anything that'll fit me. I won't be going again due to that, but I highly suggest this store to anyone who'll fit their sizes.

Nice to have a place nearby to pass off goods that were once my favorite and very useful - items hard to part with. Also cool to pick up something new to me to change my setting - feel the appreciation that the original owner had.The staff is friendly, often fun, always helpful : )

Volunteer workers were extremely rude and unhelpful. Stopped by to donate new items with tags still on, loaded with armful of bags, volunteer worker stepped in front of me when I entered and loudly, nastily told me that they only accept donations between 10-12, (it was not twelve yet,) then continued to tell me I would have to go back to my vehicle and go around back and donate another day If they decide to accept the donations at all.
