“We met a family member at this hotel because he was working in the area . So we stayed over after going out to dinner . We didn't need anything fancy for one night & just wanted a clean , quiet place to stay.
Lobby / reception...nothing fancy but clean & quiet . Front desk staff was friendly and polite .
Room ..we had a king sized bed . A bit firm but comfortable. 4 pillows & I found one that was super comfy for my " squishy" pillow addiction . A pillow can make or break a good night's sleep . So thumbs up to their pillows! Blankets were comfy and all sheets pillows , blankets were spotless and smelled clean! The room was nice . Not overly large but we didn't really care . It had everything we needed . We had a fridge & coffee maker . The bathroom was spotless with plush towels and dove soaps .

We didn't hear one noise to disturb us all night . We were on the 4 th floor . I don't think the hotel was very full but nonetheless it was a restful night's sleep.
Breakfast was very good ! Waffles ,eggs , sausage , hot cinnamon buns! Very good coffee .
Don't hesitate to book a quick overnight here if you are looking for a restful ,quiet night's sleep. Located within walking distance of several restaurants as well .
This hotel was reasonably priced at about $135 a night .”

“We had some home renovations done and had to stay here for an extended amount of time. The staff is very professional and kind. My kids loved the pool! Breakfast is good too. Very clean and close to major highways/stores.”

“Recently stayed here with my kids sports team the skulls. Hotel is very clean, they are in the process of remodeling but tbh it wasnt needed. We have stayed here before and love it. The rooms are big, the staff is amazing and the hotel is perfect for our group. Cant wait to stay here again. We have stayed at other hotels in the area for other sports teams and this one is by far one of the cleaner and more modern for the money.”

“Stayed in room with king size bed. Room is big, plenty of space and very felt closed in. Climate control is excellent. Spacious bathroom with great walk-in shower....even the showerhead is mounted high that my tall 6'5 frame can stand underneath and get drenched. Free breakfast is pretty good with choices like hot oatmeal, cereal, waffles (maybe pancakes, I don't remember), mini cheese omelette or scrabble eggs, meats (sausage or bacon) and potatoes. Please do not snack/nibble/sample food in the serving area. Nice lady running the buffet is there to remind you to have manners and eat at one of many available tables in the dining area. ?Rooms: Large, spacious with shower for very tall (over 6'2) people.”

“When we first booked our hotel block, we booked with David, who at the time was the General Manager of the hotel and he was amazing. Fast forward about a year later, I needed to add rooms to our block so I go to call David to discover he no longer works there. I tried calling the front desk who told me that they’ll have the new GM call me back, I never got a call back so I called again the next day, again the GM is busy and can’t talk, this happened about 5 times until I eventually got through to the GM who gave me a hard time about adding rooms. Aside from that we got the rooms booked and everything was fine, until we went to check into our rooms, when we arrived at the hotel for check in, the two girls at the front desk (they were absolutely lovely no complaints about them) apologized because a majority of the rooms were not going to be ready for check in at our set time. The cleaning lady was in the lobby giving the girls at the front desk a hard time about cleaning the rooms and basically berating them infront of guests, complaining that there are three wedding blocks that weekend. They also agreed to give out our welcome bags and those two girls did give them out but during a shift change or whenever those girls were not present at check in the welcome bags were not given out. Overall, the hotel was fine, it was not great but it got the job done.”

“The staff was amazing all of them. The 2 bartenders made me whole night. So personal able & even the guy behind the desk. The wings the bartender made were the best wings I've ever had. If you're in the area please stay here. I didn't like that they only have 2 suites in the whole building but the staff made up for that. Loved them. Thinking of taking a trip back just for those wings and to chill with the 2 bartenders.”

“I recently had a very enjoyable stay at the Howard Johnson in Blackwood. The rooms were both comfortable and well-kept, featuring a spacious layout that made it easy to relax after a busy day. The bed was cozy, and the linens were clean and fresh. I appreciated having a mini-fridge and microwave, which added to the convenience of my stay.

The hotel offers a nice range of amenities that really enhance the experience. While I didn’t get to use the outdoor pool, it looked very inviting. Free Wi-Fi was available and worked smoothly throughout the hotel, which was a nice perk. I also found the fitness center to be adequately equipped for a quick workout.

Breakfast was a definite highlight! The selection was impressive, with options ranging from cereals and pastries to fresh fruit and hot items like waffles and eggs. The dining area was clean and well-organized, making it a pleasant place to start the day.

The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Check-in was quick and efficient, and they were more than happy to provide recommendations for local dining and attractions. Their welcoming demeanor made a positive impression.

The hotel’s location is excellent, conveniently situated near major highways for easy access to nearby attractions. There are plenty of restaurants and shops just a short drive away, which is always a plus.

Overall, my stay at the Howard Johnson in Blackwood was enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place with great amenities.

“Easily my favorite hotel to stay at. Its literally a small apartment with all the fixings and always at crazy great rates. Offers more then most hotels I've been to.Rooms: Everything you could possibly ask for in a hotel room at an amazing price. It's like a small apartment!”

“Nothing to complain about regarding the room and the service. One thing to notice is that lots of ppl were hanging out at the hallway, just staring at you pulling car in, so that was a little weird. This is a pretty full place, expect a decent amount of guests.”

“We stayed at Residence In Deptford recently while visiting family. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean & spacious. We had a very nice kitchen area which included a nice size frig, microwave, stovetop, sink, & counterspace. There was a large closet with plenty of hangers. the tv was large & could be turned to face the sofa area or the King size bed. Breakfast was outstanding. We couldn't have been happier with our experience, and would definitely stay here again.”

“I stayed at this hotel when I had to travel back & forth between states. In my opinion, the staff, maids, maintenance guys, & every employee there presented good manners & positive attitudes. They were also forthcoming if you asked for a little help, particularly towards a respectful client.Safety: There is a security guard inside the facility even though they have cameras pointing in every direction. Anytime I've come across this gentleman I acknowledge that he remains alert & shows responsibility towards his job. I know I shouldn't but on his watch I left my car unlocked numerous times.”

“Gm , I had a week off so I decided to go to the budget motel on mt Ephriam ave , haven’t been there in yrs it changed so much nice big comfortable bed Nice TV with cable got a little refrigerator in there it was clean and quite housekeeping Comes everyday to make sure you good it was perfect, trust me I’ll be back the next time I’m off . “I had my mom stay here around New Years. (I live close by). Price was not great but her stay was good. She said her room was immaculate and stocked fully. Her only remarks were concerning the lobby which looks like a construction zone and thought the rugs and walls in the hallways and stairwells should be updated and could use a new coat of paint. Staff was very accommodating and nice with the exception of a woman at the front desk that seemed to be bothered. Having worked for Holiday Inn for many years I know that the front desk employee should be smiling and friendly (even if you're feeling bothered). That can make or break ur decision to stay since there are other hotel options all around.”

“I am surprised by the bad reviews at this location. My wife and I have been here since July 7th, due to water damage at our home. We are very happy with everything here. Everyone at the front desk has been great.The room is clean and comfy, bathroom and AC are fine. Our microwave went out at 10am, and it was replaced by 3pm.The head maintenance man was on top of everything. We told him the bathroom light went out, he replaced it in 10 minutes. I have recommended this hotel to others, and will be happy to stay here again.”

“Once we opened the door to our room, it was like we interrupted the greatest roach party that ever existed. Roaches were crawling from the dresser and out of the drains. The room looked clean, but roaches are a no for me!”
