This place is amazing and I'll tell you why: for someone who is a novice, getting into Hi-Fi can feel incredibly intimidating. But John and Co. make everything feel relaxed and fun. We get Into it to enjoy music right? So John had my girlfriend and I sit with him for over and hour demoing amps and speakers. I ended up buying a Rega Elex MK4 which was a massive upgrade for me and honestly a big investment, but they really did not push me to spend one dollar more than I could afford. While we were there I told him what bookshelf speakers I had and he connected some similarly sized bookshelves with a pair of REL subs and I was just completely enamored with the suddenly gutsy sound. Fast forward a couple of months and I went to buy the REL, which has totally exceeded my expectations. My system is like new and I am enjoying everything in my collection for the first time all over again. John and everyone at Audio Connection: you guys have a customer for life!

After the pretentious strutting of Manhattan hi-end audio dealers, Audio Connection is a safe harbor, with a staff that displays true depth of knowledge, sincerity and passion for audio equipment, music, and, most important, their customers. I recently purchased a stereo power amplifier from John Rutan at Audio Connection. This was my 2nd amp I've purchased from him. He gave me a great price. When I picked it up, I showed interested in some speakers. He spent over 30 minutes giving me a demo. When I had trouble connecting my amp, I called him at 7:30pm and he walked me through the set up step by step even though he was out to dinner. Great service!

John and the entire team was great, hospitable, attentive. Bought a pair of KLH speakers, and had my turntable serviced by their in-house technician. No need to drive into NYC for hi-fi gear anymore.

Dealing with John, the owner, has been an absolute pleasure. He is enthusiastic without the upselling nonsense and condescension you get from lots of hifi boutique stores. The service is quick and delivery is fast and reasonably priced. The store also carries an amazing collection of audiophile gear. I bought my Magnepans from him and a Rel subwoofer. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I highly recommend a visit to Audio Connection.

If you're in need of high end audio , Audio Connection is the place to go. Once John understands your budget and needs he will introduce you to the best brands and you will not be disappointed. He will never sell something you are not 100% happy with. John Rutan is the best audio guy in the business!

First class experience from John Rutan. I had spent a morning in the shop with John, and said I needed to decide what I wanted to do. He was totally cool with that. Well, it took me about 10 months to decide and when I called it's like we didn't miss a beat. We made our deal, I was kept informed of shipping time, and frankly, I could not have asked for a better experience.

One of the best Hi Fi shops around!Excellent service! John, the owner and person who runs the shop couldn’t be nicer and more professional. A true audio guy himself, he will get you where you want to be with your setup, whether large or smaller budget. Fantastic shop, too. Great listening rooms. A bit all over the place due to covid, I’m sure, but great acoustics to demo your speakers. I miss being able to go into a shop and spend time with speakers and components prior to making a purchase. I didn’t have time for that myself, unfortunately, but he was more than willing to allow me to bring my preamp and vinyl in for a test of the speakers. He had a fantastic setup with Belles amp and pre, to demo the Magnepan LRS speakers.Audio Nirvana. Wow! He had those singing. Looking forward to mind sounding as good once broken in. Purchased a pair of Maggies and he could not have been more helpful and kind. A real gentleman.Stop by this shop for a great listen, good conversation, and an experience of what a hi fi audio shop used to be and still should be. He was completely supportive of the gear I had, but was extremely knowledgeable, so I know when I wish toupgrade or purchase a modern DAC, I will be calling John at Audio Connection and giving him my business.Also, the shop is set in a lovely town in New Jersey. Safe area just half a block from the town police station and nice shops. We have to support the remaining great shops like this.Enjoy!

Don't go anywhere but Audio Connection. Do you value experience? Do you value competence? Do you value candor? The batteries in Johnny Rutan's bench testing equipment have been around longer than some of his competition have been in business. Point is, don't gamble your hard earned money with some electronic geeks or flash-in-the-pan wonder boys. Just come to this place, Audio Connection, and get competent service/advice from the people who've had audio/theater in their blood...for decades!!!

John Ruttan is a good man. I have been a customer here for many years. While i may only have a modest system and owned it for many years, the guys at audio connection have always taken time to provide exellent service, and helpful with all my needs. A jewel of a store that has stood the test of time.
