What makes Dharmachakra Center special is that everyone there is genuinely practicing the lessons taught. You can sense that everyone is doing their best to be kind and patient towards one another and you feel a certain euphoria in the room after class. Thats when I don't want to leave because in that moment I feel happy like all my worries have disappeared!

I love the lectures here. I am not a mediator I chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo so I chant to myself as they meditate. I find the lectures full of applicable Wisdom for daily living. I am inspired and encouraged every time I attend. You do have to pay a fee though and take off your shoes when you arrive so just be aware. Enjoy!

The techniques of calming the mind and actually developing mindfulness that I've learned at the center are truly amazing. As soon as you walk in there's a sensation of peace that you can really feel. This place is great for non-Buddhist and Buddhist alike - and having the opportunity to study and practice these ancient teachings is life changing. I've realized that so many problems arise only because of the ingrained views we hold in our minds and that there are ways to break free from that. Those are lessons are incredibly beneficial for all of us to learn.

I love this center. I walked in for the first time a few weeks ago and I never regretted it. Classes are 90 minutes on Thursdays and 60 minutes on sundays. You meditate for 20 to 25 minutes and then the teaching begins. Usually they focus on one topic. It's great, it's like they read my mind. They also have books for sale to understand the practices of buddhism better. All the meditation books that I've read contain meditation prayers. I only wish they would have more classes during the week. The people are great and when you speak to them you notice a sense of calmness and peace within themselves. That's my goal!

The overhead lighting is blinding & the air inside is stale & foul-smelling. I recommend dimming the lights & providing better ventilation, as well as incense.
