Only 1 guy came to move a big 5 bedrooms, 4 bath house and worked from 7:45 am till 10 pm to load the truck. But before starting, he demanded more money than the original estimate given . For every other item he would ask extra $100.00 or he wouldnt move it . But when I contacted the office, no one could be reached. Couldnt leave VM as it was full. Never delivered stuff on time and were v inefficient. Bad Experience. Never again wilk i use them.

I have had the worst experience with my move with Trans State Van Lines. Never use this company because 1: very unprofessional 2: things arrived broken 3: the items marked “fragile” clearly, the boxes came ripped and broken. There’s more to this….. they gave me an estimate for over 90 items which included boxes, mirror, canisters etc. I only had a total of 79 items which included boxes, no mirrors and some other stuff. But the total was 79. The estimate was for about 90 items. Well I was charged almost $3,000 which also included the hire of a small box truck which was $500.00 extra. This was to move into an apartment complex and not a house. This was from NYC to Florida. The estimate was for approximately $1,300. Wish I could post my pictures, but unfortunately I cannot. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

To Whom May Read This,I have to say that my experience using Tri State Van Lines for my move to a new home was terrible. The truck showed up 3 hours late to the origin, delaying the buyer of our home from moving in.Then the movers only had a small truck and were unable to put all of our property inventory. Leaving an entire garage full of our stuff at the home for us to go back and get. They then damaged not only several walls in my new home but left damages in the home we sold resulting in the home buyer wanting reimbursement. Then after taking our piano in upside down and damaging the keys along with a new bedroom set, the Forman had the nerve to ask for a $300 tip.My attorney is drawing up paperwork to move forward with litigation regarding the damages to property and furniture, over charging due to your companies negligence and emotional stress. If you would like to call and refund our 450$ deposit we will consider not moving forward. Also, I was told the movers would leave me with a receipt and paperwork. I received nothing but trash and moving blankets left on my lawn. You should be ashamed of how this company is run.

I had the worse experience with this company. They quoted us for $850 and we ended up paying $1,500 for extra material which was tape to extra secure the boxes. They arrived 1hr late. They lost the truck key and we had to wait 3 hrs for someone to come with another key to be able to leave. They were extremely rough with our belongings and couple of things broke. They driver was yelling and cursing at all times during the move making us feel uncomfortable and intimidated. And finally they left with couple of our items in the truck even though I had asked them to double check nothing was left in it. We feel ripped off.I had move 8 times in my life and this has been so far the most deficient company I have ever dealt with.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They destroyed our belongings and some of our things were completely missing. They have been dodging our calls, emails, complaints for months. When we get through on the phone they hang up on us. Our stuff arrived in horrendous condition. The boxes were torn up, smashed, furniture destroyed -- total negligence and disregard! PLEASE don't go through this. Choose another moving company.

I contacted Madison at Tri State Van Lines within a few weeks of our move on 7/23/20 to report our terrible experience and give the company a chance to make it right. After an initial apologetic email, she stopped responding entirely. We never got a cent back. We were expecting a crew of 3 movers to arrive at our 2BR apt by 11AM last July. At 11:26 AM we got a call telling us they were running late because their truck broke down. Several hours passed with no communication. The next call we received was at 2 PM telling us they were otw. They finally arrived 2.5 hours late and started loading. Madison had assured us that the crew would wear masks and practice social distancing. They didn't. The masks stayed down around their necks at the start and later disappeared entirely. Luis, the apparent crew leader, had us sign our paperwork when he arrived. He did not provide us with a copy. I want to point out that the name of the company on the contract, the name online and the name we ultimately Zelle'ed our final payment to were all different. Our emails came from
[email protected] and Tri State Van Lines appeared on our quote. The name on the contract was Mirit - Great American. We sent our final payment to Mega Moving Inc. The crew was not in uniform or anything that might ID them from the company we called and the truck was a generic Penske. In hindsight that should have been a red flag. 15 minutes into the load, a carelessly stacked tower of boxes on a hand truck fell over and we lost the first of the China. Not an great start. Not long after, Luis explained glass items were not covered for damage if they were not properly wrapped and we could opt to have them wrap stuff for an extra cost. We paid an extra $75 to have our 40 gal fish tank wrapped. It was a waste of money. The tank came off the truck in pieces. Our $75 was not returned and the insurance included in our contract offered us just $24 as reimbursement. This wasn't the only furniture that was damaged. We found dozens of gouges, scratches, scraped paint and other evidence of rough handling on almost every piece of furniture we own. We saw the rough handling first hand. We watched one mover push a bookcase, top down across a concrete floor. We watched others stack boxes marked fragile under boxes marked heavy. Boxes and furniture were stacked precariously high on carts and hand trucks so that our stuff hit the ground multiple times during the day. At one point, a guy tried to carry a floor lamp with a glass shade dangling by the lamp cord up four flights of stairs. When it was time to settle up, Luis tried to charge us $150 for stairs and long carry even though the contract and our quote clearly says there is no extra charge for either. He told us we should pay that money directly to him since "his crew were the ones doing the work." We knew it was a scam but we had planned to tip the men anyway so we paid. Not long after, my husband found Luis smoking weed behind the truck. At this point, any confidence we had left evaporated. It gets worse. The only elevator broke down with a chest of drawers and 30+ boxes on the ground floor. Our unit was on the fourth floor. It was late and still over 90 degrees outside. We were legitimately afraid this careless, unprofessional crew would drive off and leave us so we paid them an extra $200 cash to carry the last items up four flights of stairs. 3 days after our move, our landlord called to tell us we would have to repair the flooring or lose our security deposit. The movers had gouged several deep gashes in the hardwood. This was a nightmare experience. The crew was careless, dishonest and unprofessional. In the end, my husband and I helped carry dozens of boxes up 4 flights of stairs which defeated the purpose of hiring movers. We handed over $400 in cash on top of what we paid the moving company directly. When we asked for a portion of our fee back, our emails were ignored. We got burned. Save yourself and run far, far away from this company.

I should have read the reviews. Tri state Van Lines was three hours late and the owners made me pay with Zelle or Venmo before they would unload, "I guess" so you cant take the money back. They guys left furniture in storage and lied about it. When I asked about the missing items they kept telling me it was "on the other truck" then they said "was already unloaded and taken upstairs." Next morning storage calls and told me the movers had left with the locks and left the unit wide open all night with furniture in them unsecured. When I emailed the owner he only responeded "K".

Scam! Do you research and it's obvious (look at the fake 5 star reviews that all mention the same adjectives in describing the movers,or just check the BBB and other websites)They operate out of 234 16th St, Jersey City as Tri State Van Lines, then they contract your job to Mirit Great American, who showed up and intimidated my girlfriend into paying an extra $900. When you call they say the job was sent to a contractor and they can't help, but if you look up Mirit Great American they list the same address!I'm not sure how they can continue operating as an obvious scam. The stories are all over the internet so do your research and pay a bit more for a reputable mover. It also took them over a month and they refused to drive all the way to my house. I had to pack up my car and complete the last mile of delivery.

All I can say is RUN DO NOT WALK!!!...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! If I could give less than a star I would, but at the least they get one star for actually getting to the destination, finally. DO NOT believe ANY 5 STAR rating. Research Mirit Great American. Tri state gives your business to Great American. . Tri State quoted me $1,713.00...after several delays the furniture was picked up on July 2nd 2020 by Mirit Great American. After the furniture and boxes were loaded they then told me that We owe more money after all the boxes were loaded into the truck. Once the boxes are loaded, they will not unload until they recieve payment in full.... When we were given the initial quote, we had a virtual walk through and even over estimated everything that was being moved. We were told that upon delivery we only needed 40% of what was quoted... however, when Great American showed up they insisted that we needed 50% and the total went up to $2, 315.50. That is $602.50 more than the quote we recieved from tri state. I was promised that the items would be delivered in 2-3 days after pick up and it took over a month. The items were just delivered on August 11, 2020. There was only one mover, trying to move all the items by himself. Two items were missing, and furniture had been noticeably damaged and they tryed to glue it back together. We were charged for a special box for a tv and the tv was delivered wrapped in a moving blanket and missing the bottom that the tv stands on. We were also charged another fuel surcharge when they came to pick up the items, which we were not told about, when we talked to Tri-state and they said the items took up more space on the truck. Once they get your deposit, they do not answer calls or emails. Before signing the contract, they were friendly and answered every call and email. After the contract was finalized, no response. The moving guys looked unprofessional and kept taking down their masks...then on top of that asked for a tip! I did not look at the reviews before using this company, only after and i saw the horror stories that matched mine. I have not included everything in this review as it would be even longer. I hope this helps someone avoid the nightmare that we had.

I NEVER write reviews, but I feel compelled to for this. EVERY negative review on here is true. DO NOT believe ANY 5 star rating. Tri state gives your business to Great American and you can NEVR get in touch with tri state again. Great American then told my father that he owes more money after all the boxes were loaded into the truck. When my father was given his initial quote, he had a virtual walk through and even over estimated everything that was being moved. He was still charged over $1000 for his move. I cannot comment on the condition of his belongings yet because I am writing this as we go back and forth on the phone with Great American. I will write a follow up.

I enjoyed working with Tri State Van Lines Moving & Storage for my move since they are way better than the other movers. They deliver every last one of their promises and will ensure that your belongings are safe all the way to the new destination. Unlike other moving companies that don't take time seriously, these movers can make your relocation timely and spare you some for unpacking and settling. I like the professionalism they had and their confidence during the whole moving process . Highly recommended moving service.

I would just like to say that the movers sent by Tri State Van Lines were professionals and experienced. I was very anxious about this whole process. They were friendly, professional, and meticulous and worked very hard to get the job done. They were all equally professional ensuring that I was completely happy before they left. I will definitely recommend them among my friends and family.

I was very happy with Tri State Van Lines. They were professional, clean, careful, timely and well priced. They were very responsive by phone and easy to talk to and set up my move. They were professional and very tidy and kept my house and items in order and were careful not to track in any dirt into my old or new home. They showed up at our scheduled time and delivery at my new home was on time as scheduled even with weather issues. Their price was competitive with several other quotes I received. I was very happy overall with you guys and would use them again no question. I have and will continue to recommend them to others.

A legit-appearing brokerage front for a profoundly unethical business.
