The staff is not kind at all and they barely acknowledge you or your child when you come through the door. For swimming lessons, it is nearly impossible to get a makeup class and the instructors are more interested in talking to one another than actually teaching. The facilities are outdated and something always seem to be broken. For parents, it is extremely uncomfortable to be able to watch your kids during swimming class. You will be sitting very close to the pool and most likely will get splashed. Do not recommend.

Management needs to be replaced. Completely incompetent. Don't waste your time with this branch. Alexandria needs to be retrained and figure out what their policies are.

We use the childcare and the swim lessons offered by the Y. They also provide free events to the community like Cocoa with Santa. It's a great facility and we are really happy with the overall service. We are happy our child will be able to grow into the other services the YMCA offers. It's really a family environment. Highly recommended.

The director Arielle and assistant director Lauren are both rude! They don’t return phone calls or respond to emails. Both very unprofessional. They’re nothing like the old directors.

Whatever you do, DO NOT enroll your child in this daycare!! The director Arielle and assistant director Lauren are both unprofessional and unorganized. They also don’t know how to communicate properly. Neither one of them ever answers the phone or returns any phone calls to answer simple questions. They will also try to have you enroll your kid without even having a tour done. Why would I register my child in a place I haven’t seen first? I really don’t recommend this place it deserves a zero.

I signed a guest waiver form and handed it in with my dad and the lady at the front desk said it was good for the rest of the year and that she will keep it. I successfully entered and entered the basketball court and no problems. I went two days later to be my friends guest again and the lady at the front gave me immediate attitude she said there was no open gym on Mondays. Implying that I was not being truthful about signing the guest forum. When there is two sessions every Monday, 1-3 and 4:45-6. So she was being very disrespectful and saying I didn’t hand it in and giving me attitude basically calling me a liar then saying i need a MOM or DAD and a GUARDIAN cannot sign a waiver for me, which is very inconsiderate and ignorant for kids with parents who work late and have guardians who take care of them. So i’m not sure if the first worker LOST my form or didn’t put it in the system, or the second one just had 0 clue what was going on. But either POOR customer service Seemed as if she just wanted to get off her shift and not be bothered by any customers. 6:30 March 10th 2022 is when this occurred.

Really disappointed in the staff member at the front desk. Went in ask more information from the website about classes for my child. She kept saying, “I don’t know” so I asked her if there was someone else I could speak to and then she got offended. She didn’t budge. And kept saying, I don’t know. Then suddenly she remembered a class and told me to check on the website and get a membership and start from there. I asked her for more details about the class like what day. She said check on the website. I advised her, I just needed to know the day of the class so I can see if I could do it. She finally went back to her desk, looked up some information and got back to me rudely about it saying we don’t do in person registration. That was not what I was asking for. What an uneasy experience.

Rachael the receptionist is super unprofessional and rude. Every answer that she gave was rude and you can tell she hates her job. I came in to ask for information regarding the swimming classes. After my experience at this location I decided to join Rahway branch. Great staff over there!

Had an issue with my account, called and spoke with the front desk staff, who was a little snappy and not very helpful. I called a few weeks later and got a much nice woman, who transferred me to their director, Jessica. Jessica was very friendly and resolved my issue immediately . Thank you Jessica!

The swimming pool often closes with no advance notification. We have been members for over a year and I used the facility mostly over the weekend to get the kids opportunities to swim besides their swimming lessons. The pool has closed for 3 out of my last 6 visits for random reasons. For two times, including today, it was because they don't have life guards on sites. Knowing that they are not very reliable, I even called before I leave today to make sure that the pool is open. Sure even, when we arrived one hour later, a piece of paper was stick on the glass door saying that the pool would be closed for the rest of the day. When asked, the staff confirmed that the pool was open earlier and then due to a lack of life guards, the pool got closed. This is not the first time!!! This place clearly needs better management and a more caring and capable director who can hire responsible staffs and make sure that their facility can at least stay open to serve the community! Not worth the troubles. Look for other options if your goal is to use the pool

The employees in this place are blatantly rude. They don't speak, they never smile. Everyone just looks unhappy no customer service friendly at all. I paid for my daughter to go to camp for $2000 which did not include food or snacks! I had to pull her out early because they were not engaging the children with no type of activities. To top it off the teachers or instructors were eating my baby snacks and food!
