The owner is super knowledgeable and is great to talk to about reading any type of book which helps calibrate and find the books you didn’t know you were looking for!The selection of books reflects her wide ranging curiosity and interests and I’ve found 2 or more books that pique my interest every time. An amazing selection of plays to read and consider---you can explore ancient plays by the Greeks, Elizabethan contemporaries of Shakespeare, or plays that have just closed on or off Broadway. Great ambience; friendly staff and comfortable spaces where you can lose yourself in whatever play you are reading. I am really happy it exists and always look forward to visiting.”

“This is a fantastic little store. It is a little hard to find because although the address is on Sylvan the store is actually located on the second floor of the Williams Center. very meticulously put together shop with books, records, CDs and graphic novels including what may be the fullest collection of Steve Ditko books. If you wanna know what it was like to find a great little corner record/bookstore on a side street in Manhattan in the 80s, just climb the stairs here.”
“Great local bookstore, walked by it one day and saw a sign "$1 books" with several full carts of books, many in very good/near-perfect condition. The employees are very friendly, had good recommendations and to say they are extremely passionate about literature doesn't fully do it justice.”

“Astoria Bookshop is tucked away off the main drag and that only makes it more perfect. The shop is loaded with current best sellers, kids books & cute notebooks, bookmarks and cards. They even had some signed copies of books that were great to see. The ladies were so friendly and sweet. I had my dog with me and they were so excited to see her and offered her treats and pets. Checked out the shops Instagram where they have all their events & happenings. I also picked up my next read and I'll definitely go back there for more books and tosupport this great shop!”
