Let me paint a picture, it’s 9:55 and a nearby Walmart is unable to fulfill my product needs. To take a step back, I had just recently discovered an ice cream topping product called Magic Shell. This product was advertised to be a fudge that solidifies over your ice cream, I didn’t believe it to be true, so naturally I had to find out for myself. After not being able to find my product at Walmart I made a last ditch effort to call my local acme. Within seconds an employee answered my call. I swiftly asked if they had the magic shell topping and within seconds the employee not only told me it was in stock but searched the store and made sure they had the product on the floor. This display of unwavering top-level costumer service is rarely found in today’s world. Unfortunately for me it was 9:55 and acme closed at 10. So I asked this employee if there was a wiggle room in the closing time. Fairly enough the employee told me that there wasn’t any but if I did show up before closing they would allow me to purchase my product. So I bolt across town to get from Walmart to my local acme and get there at 10:01, just late. With luck I was just able to get through the doors and reached the front of the store. I was met by a night shift employee who had informed me that they were closed and couldn’t allow anymore customers. This was extremely disappointing to hear because of the tremendous effort I put in to get this ice cream topping. I decided to make one last attempt to get my product by pleading with the night shift employee, and the employee allowed the decision to go to the employee in charge of security. Luckily for me I had gone to an Acme with tremendously amazing customer service, and the security employee allowed me to purchase my Magic shell ice cream topping after closing. These employees did not need to check the store for my product, did not need to stay on the phone with me to tell me I could enter the store just before closing, did not need to allow the security employee to choose for us to stay, and did not need to let us in. But yet they did. These employees display a dying breed of excellence in a profession, and should be at the top of the list for promotions , or any type of professional advancement. I can full heartedly say I am more than satisfied with my experience with the Acme at Hamilton square shopping center. 5 stars

This is how my prosciutto was sliced and given to me. It was garbage. And it not cheap either. The guy on Sunday May 4th was ignorant to my fiancé and myself on top of it.

The Acme on Rt 33 has really gone down hill. There are no hand baskets or small carts for smaller orders. Half of the large shopping carts do not work properly. Most days there is only one cashier on. So after ringing up your own order and bagging it in your own bags you have to push a large cart that doesn’t work out to the parking lot.

The store itself is great, great selection, clean, etc. However, my experience has to do with the Deli and one employee whose name I don’t know. I have dealt with him twice over the holidays.I placed $150 order for pick up on Christmas Eve at 4. The day before I changed the pickup time to 10. I called TWICE to make sure the time was for 10. The guy I spoke to even joked ‘yeah, yeah, anytime, no problem, as long as I remember to write it down haha.’Come on at 10 and I get a face full of being belittled and to be made out as if I were stupid. The guy who’s was handling the orders says to me well, ‘you’re like eight hours you got at least 30 minutes for me to cook your turkey.’He didn’t care, he was rude and he didn’t want to hear anything we had to say. Fine he was busy. Maybe he was having a bad day right? It was Christmas Eve.Couple days goes by and the food was really good so we decided to get a sandwich tray for our get together for New Year’s. We go to the deli and immediately the man has an attitude problem. ‘Well I don’t have that order and they were here like eight hours early on Christmas Eve last week.’ That was him talking to his coworkers loudly so we could hear him.I have to say the best part about this situation was the fact that I had a receipt and an order number in hand, which I showed him. Then his face fell, and that sort of made my day. He was so sure he was right and I was wrong but with that proof? Turns out the food was in another part of the store.I don’t know why customer service is dead, but it would be really nice if people understood, both on the employee and the customer side, that the customer is not always right, but they’re not also always wrong either.

This Acme often has hard to find products. Prices can be high but so is the convenience level.Update 2023: senior discount on Tuesdays. Sales are worth the visit with or without the discount. Great neighborhood grocery!
