The call was well received, the person I spoke to was compassionate and understanding of my anxiety. The young man who responded to the location was professional and collected the Eaglet to transport to the local avian rescue shelter. It was a convoluted phone challenge but the Toms River Animal Rescue team was phenomenal.

I had a bad experience with this place and I would never recommend for any pet adoption .the manger ,the staff everyone there is unprofessional and unkind . They kept us waiting for weeks to tell us that the kitten adoption application was denied and according to them you don’t have the right to know why !every time we called they just ignore . Regardless if you meet the conditions of adoption or not if they just don’t like you they will deny you it’s seems personal to me.

We went to the Toms River Animal shelter to look at their doggies and donate a little dog food. The girls there were very friendly and a pleasure to talk too. We took the tour, (which you must make an appointment for), the doggies were extremely excited to see us. Our guide was very knowledgeable of all the animals we looked at.We haven't made our decision yet, but you should definitely go and find your "furever" pet. It's always best to rescue these animals. All of our pets over the years were rescues. You'll find they are so loyal, loving and appreciative. They know.So call, and make an appointment. Those animals really need your love and care.

I adopted my cat Java from here back in February when she was around six months old. She is happy, healthy, and well-socialized. She received all of her vaccinations and was spayed beforehand. This shelter cares about the animals and their welfare, and if you live in the area is a great place to look to adopt.

Keep this in mind... They have a strict policy of "First come first served" on adoptions... After taking a while am I chose 2 cats to adopt, I couldn't adopt the one cause not spayed yet, the other not sure what happened, got passed to a supervisor who wouldn't budge on their policy, so walked out with none. They were both unprofessional and cold.

I was a volunteer here and was very impressed with the staff and the volunteers because of how clean the facility is kept and how caring and knowledgeable the staff and volunteers are. A great animal shelter.

As part of a rescue transport team, we picked up two pointers today from this shelter to help them begin their journey to their foster home in Tennessee. The staff here were very attentive to the pets. They were feeding and cleaning cages when we arrived. The place was clean and everything was in order for the transfer of the dogs when we arrived. The staff helped get the dogs into their harnesses and leashes and made sure we had all their proper paperwork to take with us. This is a very good shelter.

Severely understaffed and in the middle of kitten season, the shelter has had to lean heavily on the volunteers lately. The remaining employees are exhausted but still obviously have their heart in it.Anyone who has a little extra time and compassion, consider filling out a volunteer application. They could use people both for cats and dogs. You'll see firsthand how well the animals are cared for, and be able to enhance their welfare further yourself, as well.

I had an appt @ 11am today. On my way to the appt, my dog threw up twice and I had to pull over and clean it up, so he doesn't lay in it. The office calls me and I tell them what happened. After driving a hour to get there 7 mins away from their office they say I can't come. As a vet you should know things happen.I only came here because the adoption agency I went to said too. Deerwood Vet, is way understanding and always work with you whether they squeezed you or not and prices are wayyyyyyyyyy better. Never make you feel like your pet isn't worth it. My dog is my family and I t

Monday night my girl dog viscously attacked my boy dog out of no where. They came and picked her up because i was afraid to let he back in the house. Over the next couple of days and sleepless night i could see no scenario where i would feel safe bringing her home especially when i was at work what she might do so i made the heart wrenching decision to surrender her. I just left filling out forms and i have to tell you they were not empathetic at all and made sure to tell me she may never get adopted and i should know that. I broke out into tears when i walked out. surrendering her was the hardest decision i ever made and there lack of compassion was really surprising.

The shelter was very clean and the animals appeared very healthy and well cared for. I adopted a very sweet 4 year old male cat. Love him! I do have to add however, the staff was less than personable. As an addendum. I went today to return the carrier and there was a very nice young man and woman at the desk when I arrived. They were extremely helpful and friendly. They took care of everything for me. Happy ending. :)
