THINK BEFORE JOINING THIS GYM!! Over 1,100 views and counting!! Be careful how you treat peopleFirst let me start by saying, I have been working out for multiple years consistently now. Been to many gyms. I was a member of this gym for about 4 years. The gym is my peace and I like to come get a great workout after a hard day of work, like many of you reading this. I have met some cool people at this gym who I plan to be friends with for a while but I feel that may be the only positive takeaway unfortunately. Now, let me tell you that this is THE MOST toxic, unprofessional and hostile gym environment I have ever been apart of.I have witnessed many issues with the front desk staff and members. Issues to the point where the front desk associates have almost gotten physical with members. MULTIPLE times. Complaints get swept under the rug and go unnoticed. Don’t even bother. The general manager just sits in his office and seems to have no idea what the gym needs or what goes on in the gym. The owners are non-existent and don’t do anything to properly manage the gym. I have also heard other staff talking about members’ information to other members. Don’t expect complete confidentiality when joining this gym. Your information may be exposed to random people. Clients are not respected by employees AT ALL. They have “no judgments” written on the front desk in big lettering but do nothing but the opposite. It’s a negative environment. Also, the turnover with managers and employees is astronomical and it’s not hard to understand why. Also, just some things to note. They never have the air conditioner on because it seems they are too cheap to run it. When they have it on, it barely works and they compensate by having fans that blow around hot air. In the summer, it easily gets hot enough for folks to potentially have a heat stroke and that’s a health hazard if I have ever heard one. Corporate is made aware of issues and just doesn’t seem to care. They basically tell you what you want to hear. Also, just to note, don’t even bother coming to the gym in the afternoon or anytime before 7. You’ll see kids talking in groups in front of weights and they will not care if you are trying to workout. Their conversation is more important than your workout apparently. Not to mention, they all have their little cliques like it’s high school. Grown people come here to workout and do not want to be bothered by teenagers standing around flexing and talking. Let’s not forget about the classes on the turf either. They are scheduled at the busiest time of the gym and there is no separate room for the classes. They blast music throughout the gym. Good luck focusing on your workout with them screaming and blasting music you can easily hear through your headphones.Just to add more notes; the equipment is subpar. It is the cheapest, bottom of the barrel stuff on the market. Don’t expect any updates or new equipment as I was a member for years and absolutely nothing was changed. The cleanliness is the same. Mildew on the walls under the blow dryers for example. Simple to clean yet it doesn’t get done. Not too mention they don’t even supply paper towels to wipe your face after a workout. They have gotten better at fixing equipment when it breaks but still could use some improvement.I’ve been to many gyms in my days and this is easily the most toxic, unprofessional and hostile gym I’ve been apart of. Gym culture is just not what it used to be. All of these reviews speaking out against management and a hostile environment could not be more true. There are SO many better options in the area. Take a look at the other reviews, management and staff clearly have a problem treating people with decency and respect. If you are serious about lifting and don’t want to lift in a total negative environment, I HIGHLY advise considering other options than this gym.

Facility is nice, but rec room is never available as it is constantly being cleaned for hours on end. Every time inquire about the cleaning schedule so I can try to plan my exercise around it, the staff at the front desk is never able to give me a straight answer. It’s very frustrating as I’ve been going to this gym on my lunch break between 11 and 1 for almost a year and only recently has the facility implemented this new and disruptive cleaning schedule. When the rec room isn’t being cleaned, there are fitness classes going on. Very disappointed in the customer service here.

I was on vacation in Lavallette and just needed something close. I was very impressed with how clean and organized the gym was. Will definitely be back to this location whenever I am in the area.

Been taking my son and his friends who are 17 and stay with me during the summer to train at this gym and today ran into a rep who questioned whether I was my sons friends legal guardian and wouldn’t let him in cause I could not properly represent him even though every other rep there all summer has never said a thing about it…..and when I asked for a refund for the day pass that had already been paid for my son he said they were not capable……way to take care of repeat returning customers!!! Well there’s plenty of gyms in the area thanks for making the decision making process much easier :)Its ok it was just one of your customer service reps on a power trip questioning the validity of me being the guardian for that particular child for the weekend. Thanks for the reply.

I went in yesterday with 2 friends and was denied access with my "free" guest pass after the man at the front claimed I had already been there in October 2022 even though I told him I've never even heard of the place before last week. He did absolutely nothing to help me, didn't offer to show me the picture or anything. Just made me pay the 15$ day pass and was honestly pretty rude. I went in to see if it would be worth switching gym memberships and if the guy had just let me workout without milking me for 15$ I probably would've done it, but I felt unwelcome and made out to be some kind of scammer by the people running the place, he really was talking as if he thought I was lying to his face. Absolutely unsatisfied with my experience, and after reading other reviews here it seems this place has a problem with treating people with respect and decency.Edit- Increasing the 1 star to 3, because after posting this review a man named Michael reached out and called to make things right, refunded me for the day pass and offered me and my 2 friends a 7 day pass to continue to try it out and see if it's worth switching over. This is definitely something that I can overlook if it was just a hiccup, the facility does look pretty nice and I appreciate the effort to make things right on their end.

While looking for a place to train while on vacation, I noticed that this particular Crunch was a very close distance from where I was staying. I had shown up at a very busy time but had noticed that there were more than enough pieces of equipment to accommodate a large capacity of individuals. The gym itself was pretty clean including most of the equipment as well as the men's locker room. Although I had only gone twice to this particular Crunch location, I was genuinely satisfied with my experience. As a Crunch Select member, I find the membership cost to be a pretty horrible return on investment when visiting non-Select clubs such as this one in Toms River. Thanks for being my substitute home gym during my vacation!

Have witness many issues with a trainer and other customers. The trainer in question threaten to hit me with her car, called me a devil worshipper and also threatened to “kick another gentleman’s nuts into his throat “ in front of his teenage son. She still has a job there. The air conditioners is always broken, the concerns about other members harassing people go unaddressed , and the management doesn’t really care too much about you once they have your money. Also, there are many complaints about a member taking photos of members with out their consent and nothing is done about it . Cooperate has been made aware and they don’t seem to care either . There are far better options to go to In Tomsriver and Brick, stay far away.

I like crunch fitness, very clean place and wipes are always available to disinfect your machines before/after. Much better system then spraying paper towels. Bathrooms are clean and the workers here are very nice. I left my ring here before and they found it quickly so I was thankful for that. Great place to work out.

I called regarding some questions which were answered politely over the phone and went in to join. A wonderfully nice young lady by the name of Alyce(unsure of the spelling), walked me through everything and got me signed up, explained the app to me and gave me a free t shirt. She was very profesional and pleasant. Kudos to her. The gym is large, clean and well stocked with equipment.I love it. For what it's worth I've trained at LA Fit and Retro, and I drive past them both to workout here. Staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks!!!

Tried to cancel a teen membership because he got a job and the manager would not listen and was very rude over the phone. I called a month ago and spoke with some one over the phone and never mention we need to sign paper work. They need to train their staff with better knowledge. This manager was screaming over the phone. I would not recommend this place for teens.

I’ve been a Planet Fitness member for just over one year, seeking crunch fitness as a possible new gym. First time there, wanted a free trial and a tour. I walked in and was told they don’t offer free trials. Went back to my car, signed up online for three day, free trial, and then walked back inside, and the woman in the front called over either the trainer or manager, who had asked for my license, so I then went back to get my license, walked back in, and the guy who asked for my license was no longer there, and the woman said she did not need it. I practically had to beg my way in to try the facility, did not feel welcome at all, will not be returning.

weights are fine. cable machine breaks often and most is the time it takes a week to fix. not a g ym to go to in the evening. even with your headphones on full blast you still won't hear your music because the classes have their music blasting and the door open. and the classes come before anyone else. employees are not allowed to touch or turn on the music, even to help drown out the class music. And they can't even answer the phones either cause they can't hear them ring or they cant heart the person.
