I brought one of my vehicles, he diagnosed the problem within 30 seconds, and gave me a reasonable estimate. He fixed the problem at the time promised, and did some extra work with No Charge.

“I had a great experience at AKAR! I had a tire tear on a long drive and pulled off the highway not knowing what to do. I was very lucky to come across AKAR where the mechanics provided me with speedy assistance, patching the tire in under half an hour, and charging me a very reasonable price. The patch worked for the next 120 miles until I returned the car. Would highly recommend!”

Occasionally I'll try another mechanic for convenience purposes, but at the end of the day it's damn near impossible to find somebody better than them.They may not always be the fastest option out there (though they always do their best to accommodate) but if you want the job done RIGHT with no bs, go to Lou's. Their prices are always very reasonable, and never once have they tried to upsell or bait-and-switch me. They will also let you know which issues are more urgent than others, so that YOU can make the best choice for your situation. Good luck finding another mechanic with that level of honesty!”

My father was a master mechanic and together we always fixed and maintained my vehicles. After he passed finding a solid mechanic took years. IT EXISTS!!! No upselling and great integrity in their work and in themselves. Very to the point with no fluffing or sales pitch. They also stand by their work. They’re worth every dime and much more honestly. None the less they’re reasonable and treat you like a human and not an endless bank. If what they need to do changes, which is rare, 1. They tell you 2. Its vitally necessary, unavoidable, and for your safety. Also notice the certificates in the office. The dates and what for. They keep their diagnostics sharp and always evolving their knowledge and techniques for effective efficiency no matter how many years they’ve been under the hood. Best combination of irreplaceable decades of experience and the latest in diagnostic efficiency. “This place is a gem!!! Highly recommend. My Prius died nearby so I walked over to the shop to see if they could help with my hybrid. The owner Smitty immediately walked with me to my car, jump started it, and replaced the battery (for a reasonable price!) within a couple hours. Absolutely wonderful service, and Smitty is a pleasure to chat with. I will certainly bring my car back if I have any more issues!”

“I had an issue with the air conditioning in my car, I stopped by the nearest mechanic shop to have it checked out which happened to be Johnson Service Center in Hackensack. Jimmy the mechanic and owner told me to pull it in the driveway of the shop and he’d have a look. At the time, I noticed he had other projects going on so I thought for sure he was gonna take a look and schedule an appointment for a later date, however he told me he could fix it in 30 minutes and asked if now was a good time to start. He hooked up my car, I waited a little less than 30 mins and I was on my way! Highly recommend this body shop, and grateful that Jimmy was so quick and accommodating, despite his busy shop! Will be using him for all future mechanical needs!”
“I had an issue with my F150 where it entered a "deep sleep mode" due to a few days of inactivity. I forgot that I received the message on the app a couple months ago, but was continuing to drive my truck sporadically. One day I randomly realized my passenger side door's "intelligent access" wasn't working. I tried it a few more times over the course of a couple weeks then came to the conclusion that maybe it was broken. I called multiple Ford dealer/service centers, mechanics and auto body shops. I called Mobil 1 Lube Express and got a hold of Mike who was clearly busy and said he probably wouldn't be able to help me for another week, but in that moment, he still decided to ask me a few questions about the problem and recommended that I disconnect the negative port of my battery for 5 minutes and see if that resets it. I tried it the next day and it worked - I spent countless hours wasting my time with Ford and other mechanics/auto body shops and I should've called Mike in the first place. I called him back to thank him and let him know it works. He humbly wouldn't take anything I offered him, so the least I could do is write this review. I'm a previous customer but they gained even more of my business, now. Thanks again Mike!!”
