“Trader Joe's has the usual meats and produce but the produce is all local and the meats are high end. Lovely selection of dips, nuts age dried fruit. Loved it all.”
“Today was my third visit here. I had a really amazing experience today. Amy was someone who truly cared about her work, her customers and her workplace. I will never forget her warm attitude towards her customers. Trader Joe's is a place with really great employees. All staff are friendly. (Kay)”

“So I came in to buy just a few things in a hurry. I never been in a Trader Joe's but I like the cleanliness and atmosphere. It's definitely smaller than most grocery stores I've been in. I definitely see they have more organic and healthy items than you would find in a regular grocery store. I would come back for specific items but maybe not regular shopping”
“Wedge like sandwich that was pretty good. Ordered the sausage egg and cheese. Small store front with limited parking in front. They charge a fee for using credit card.”
“Garden Gourmet really is an oasis in this neck of the Kingsbridge-Riverdale woods. The quality is uniformly high, with a few exceptions, and the prices are decent. More expensive than, say, Stop & Shop across the street, but overall a vastly superior store. Produce selection is abundant, with plenty of organic options. You can tell the store has a buyer who cares about quality. Again, with exceptions. They occasionally sell Sunset brand products, like tomatoes, which are not good. They should do better quality control on tomatoes. Also, there are many bagged veggies, like spinach and salads, which can contain spoilage and are best avoided. I wish they would eliminate these, but I guess people like them because the veggies are pre-washed. But there are plenty of fresh alternatives to these. The meat and chicken section also is good quality, but can be pricey, except they have an excellent deal on Bell & Evans chickens, which are top-notch. (They also offer cheap mass-produced Perdue chickens which are tasteless, but can be avoided.) The butchered meat selection is not huge, more select, but good quality and reasonably priced. However, if you're going for processed packaged meats, like sausages and other deli cuts, they have tons of high-quality imports, along with quality sliced ham, turkey, and other cold cuts that they package themselves. Their fresh fish selection is small, but good quality and not cheap. Smoked fish, though? Huge selection. Then there's the cheese -- a superb curated spread that's massive considering the size of the store, with many great prices. One picayune exception: their house-made fresh mozzarella is bland. Luckily they have other brands. Garden Gourmet obviously prides itself on their house-made products, including bean salads, olives, slaw, potato salads, etc. -- and these are uniformly good. They also offer a TON of prepared cooked food for take-home meals, but I never buy that stuff because I cook for myself. It sure looks and smells good though. The GG has a HUGE selection of locally sourced bread off all types that blows away any supermarket. Also a nice pick of cakes and pies and other baked goods that are either house made or locally sourced. One other criticism of GG: Their coffee beans are inferior. I wish they'd get a new supplier for these. Othewise there is SO MUCH more I could say about this store -- like discuss their IMMENSE selection of products imported from mainly Eastern European countries -- but I've blabbed on enough. If the Garden Gourmet ever closed down I'd be shattered.”
“We love Grand & Essex food and often buy their takeout. So when it came to making a shabbos kiddush/lunch for 100 people we were excited to order from them --and we're so glad we did! We ordered over a dozen different items, and every single thing was both absolutely delicious and also beautifully presented and it all very much contributed to the celebration. Thank you G&E for your outstanding job, and to Yitzy for your help.”

“First coming in this store I was amazed great staff so polite and they have a great menu definitely and was surprised on they beer selection will definitely make this my favorite store to visit”
“Definitely a great place to get fresh fruit and vegetables, they have a good meat section as well although I tend to skip their fish and seafood section. They have a lot of frozen and canned and dry Asian goods particularly focused on Korean food. If you can't find the Korean ramen you want, I am very surprised as that is practically a whole aisle on its own.
Service used to be better here, now the staff looks a little more tired and busy. The front has a good food court filled with Korean fried chicken, kimbap, noodle and other shops.”
“Always fun They are always stocking the shelves!!! Items sell out. A very busy store. I always tend to go at rush hour. I can find something good yo eat and drink! Tonight I tried vegetable pad Thai vegetable noodles from the frozen section. They were surprisingly good. The line moves even when it's packed.”
“If u miss little treats from grece, turkie or Albania, like the name mediterrranean stuff, u can find everything here, the staff is very friendly and kind, ready to help u to find the things u need.”

“I go here mostly for the prepared foods. They are delicious and nicely packaged to use right away or freeze. The marinated chicken cutlets are a favorite along with too many things to list here. It is a little pricey, but worth it for me to have something ready to go for dinner quickly. The store is clean and has many self-checkout lanes and the staff are friendly.”

“This Asian grocery store is great! You can find anything you need for your dinner recipes. The vegetables and fruit are fresh. There are premade food as well as a little area that sells freshly made items. I finally found a smaller wok here and it is really well made.”
“Just revisited after many years. So glad not much has changed. This place truly is a blast from the past. Amazing Italian family food served with passion and vociferous Italian voices. This place isn't lunch, it's an experience. Fabulous veggie options too. Visit why you can. I'm terrified I'll turn up one day and this piece of local history will be no more.”
“This store is very friendly and helpful many times I didn't have enough to get my toddler the snacks he desired but the guy would often let me slide in the most nice way and I noticed the kindness and sit I appreciate it wish there were more people out here like him because a lot of us single moms struggle low key”

“I’ve tried several items from their menu and all dishes were exceptional. This place offers truly authentic Mexican food that is full of flavor and at a great price. Their tacos, huevos rancheros, and salsa roja are delicious. I love how quickly they serve too. It is clean and their customer service is hospitable and welcoming. If you’ve been hesitant to try - you’re missing out. This place is 5 stars across the board.”
“As you enter, walk to the back for an utterly authentic Parmesan of the correct age. Sheep ricotta. Ask for what you need as if you were in Firenze, Roma or Bologna.”
“Aldi advertises refund plus replacement for purchased item that did not meet your expectation. This is a marketing slogan more than an actual guarantee that would ever work in practice due to unwritten rules you will find out when it is too late. The vast majority of items are good quality and hardly anything ever has to be returned.”
“The crab cakes are the best!!!!! Juices are wonderful!!!!
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free choices
Kid-friendliness: Wonderful supermarket too.”
“This shop is run by the nicest, most helpful staff who always offer to bring my items to the register so don’t have to carry them around the store and they have a great selection of organic brands too. Plus the sweetest cat!”
“Shop Rite Liquors is my "go to" when I need to replenish my spirits! It's always stocked to the ceiling with everything I'm looking for, the staff is always warm and inviting and the prices are unbeatable!!”

“I visited this place today with my son. It is a small family owned store, the young ladies who helped us were so kind and helpful. They have a big selection of items from Thailand. I loved that I was able to find all that I was looking for and got some things to try for the first time. We are not from Thailand but my family and I love foods from all over the world. We tried their warm sweet fried dough for the first time and we all loved it! I will definitely go back again soon, though we traveled 30 minutes to get there. Thank you so much for the kind help. Cheers to success peace and health! Xo”

“I love it here walking distance from home 20mns but worth it sales always on waffles past 3 yrs it's not changed 100%. only thing I dislike is that the lady is annoying eye watching you and having arguments with customers over all I love it”
“It is a very nice Turkish market. There are many butcher and greengrocer sections with a wide variety of products. They help you with everything. I would especially like to thank Mr. Ahmet. I have shopped from this market 30 times and I will continue to shop.
I definitely recommend it to you. There is a huge free parking lot behind Grand Bazaar food.”
“This efficiently managed supermarket provides everything you need, from standard grocery items to a variety of vegan choices and a selection of Asian products. Plus, there's a cozy eatery where you can place an order and enjoy your meal on-site.”
“The reality is: it’s the best Italian deli north of 96th…. 86th…79th…? Regardless, it’s good. But is it $17 sandwiches good ?
No & yes. It’s not a destination. For the same price, I can get double the sangwheech and better quality in midtown. But, we aren’t in midtown are we- Karen.
Quality is top toots for the UWS. Yes, there’s other things besides sandwiches here & visually, it all looks legit and good but I came here for the sangwheeecha. It’s not exactly piled high with meats or fresh bread, like Pisillo’s ( my gold standard ). Yet- You won’t get a better Italian sandwich in the neighborhood.
That said, it’s overpriced for what you get. If you’re desperate and aren’t going to be south of 59th street- they more or less are the only game in the neighborhood when the craving hits”
“The Best store with fresh produce friendly and helpful staff. Antonio is great store manager, always pleasure going there to get best quality and great customer service they have the friendliness sweetest staff and best product.Thank you.”
“Very nice store. Good prices and you can a variety of food and goods. You can shop and checkout independently without waiting cash register due due to smart technology used.”
