“Merit Auto Body has gone above and beyond. I can't tell you how many times I've done business with other shops and it's been an anxiety-ridden process where I have had to take care of every step, call the insurance company, get a loaner, call for extensions, call the shop, etc.
I believe I only spoke with the insurance company once, paid my deductible and picked up my car when it was ready. Merit Auto Body handled all the calls with the insurance, the rental car company -- the loaner car was available at Merit Auto Body and was picked up by the rental company there as well. I didn't need a ride to pick one up or drop it off. The office sent me updates on the repairs and process almost daily with such a friendly demeanor. It was a seamless process from start to finish.
The repair was for the trunk area. It was crushed where the plate is located. The trunk door was also affected where it was crooked and didn't close plumb and the electricals responsible for opening and closing the truck were affected as well. I also had unrelated damage to my car and the shop kindly fixed those also along with the damage from the accident. When I picked up my car, it was spotless, inside and out. It looked as if I had just purchased my car from the dealer.
I highly recommend Merit Auto Body and I look forward to using their other services, such as detailing. They are all so professional, friendly and thoughtful -- everyone who works there -- that it brings back a feeling that doesn't exist anymore...that it's a friendly neighborhood interaction than a cold couldn't-be-bothered business. Props to the owner for creating and maintaining this environment.”

“The BEST car repair/auto body shot in Fort Lee, hands down. Had a flat tire and some minor body damage where the jack was improperly placed when the spare was put on at a shop in The Bronx. When I got to BGC, a tech took the tire and the owner of the shop (Effie) took a look at the body damage. For no charge he was able to pound out the dent and told me to come back when its not raining and he'd even tough up the paint. 20 minutes later the tire was repaired and back on the car. I've come in for other minor stuff in the past, and always had a good experience. Yes, you might have to wait, it can get busy. Quality of work, fairness, and reasonable price make it worth waiting.”

In addition, Andrew and Car Kraft fixed a couple of small things that they did not ask any payment for. This was very considerate. I brought my car in for a simple noise, and Johnny diagnosed it faster than I diagnose myself on WebMD. The man inspected my car like it was going on a first date. Tony runs the place like a pit crew chief, Johnny works like he’s trying to earn “Employee of the Millennium,” and I left wondering if I should tip them.
If your car’s broken, go to Tony’s. If your car isn’t broken, still go — Johnny will find a way to impress you anyway.”

The quiet location, service, the speed and quality of work are commendable. Juan Ferreiras with whom I worked has been superb. They arranged my pickup and drop off with the rental company. When I picked up my car, I couldn't even recognize it. It had inside out makeover. It was so clean inside and out though I didn't pay for that. They get my six-star rating.”
