Barrett Leber Funeral Home has provided viewing, mass, and burial services for my father (6 years ago) and my mom (last week.). Both experiences were expertly handled by Steve, who is kind, compassionate, and very experienced. I could not be happier with Steve and his excellent staff. They helped all the services run smoothly and we were also impressed with their professionalism. Thank you Steve for all your help, kindness, and sensitivity as our family is in mourning. I highly recommend them!

We were devastated when our mom passed away. Our family came to you with many questions and guidance and you treated us just like family. You were an integral part of support and your abilities to handle all of our needs was impressive.

Our mother recently passed and we have used Barrett for family previously. This was the first time we had to make the arrangements and I can see why my mom adored Steve. He made a difficult time so easy for us and showed such compassion and the appropriate sense of humor when we needed it. Steve and the staff made sure every detail was attended to. We felt a lot of love and sympathy from their end. Could not recommend more highly.

Chelsea made an unbelievably difficult time even more difficult. Her lack of kindness, empathy, transparency and professionalism was shocking, given her position at Barrett's and given that Barrett's website touts grief services and caring. Although the rest of the people there seemed very kind and helpful, Chelsea's conduct was so awful that I would never recommend Barrett's to anyone.

Barrett Leber provided Funeral Services for both of my parents with my Mom most recently passing. In both cases, the care, kindness, empathy and professionalism of the staff was outstanding.I would especially like to thank Funeral Director Steve Hamersma whose kindness and compassion during this difficult time made arranging funeral services for a parent more comforting vs. heartbreaking for our family.For that I am forever grateful!

Barrett Leber was an amazing group to work with. A big shoutout to Chelsea who was on top off everything from day 1. Going through this experience for the first time, she took the extra step in explaining everything and offering recommendations and insight. She was prompt, caring, and professional. Steve, Anthony, and Daniel were also amazing and accommodating to all of our requests. The venue made for a beautiful service. Many thanks to Barrett Leber. 10/10 recommend.

My father passed away on June 2, 2022. I had no prior experience with this process. Phil, Chelsea and Anthony were top rate. They handled everything for me. The service was perfect and beautiful. My father would have been proud. Thank you to Steve, Matt and the whole crew. I cannot thank you enough for making this process as smooth as it can be.

PROS: This is the most prestigious funeral home around. They have tons of parking, several worship rooms, and a nice interior that doesn't look old like other homes. CONS: The people who work there tend to be a little snippy OVERALL: I highly recommend using these guys as they never let us down

My mother Joann Allen peacefully passed away in July of 2021. As always the first few moments upon losing someone can be stressful & critical. A close friend immediately reccommended Barretts in Tenafly. Boy am I glad they did! I would 1st like to thank the entire staff for the heart felt compassionate professional service those first few hours. Especially Phil Vesso for his kind immediate response & handling of everything from beginni g to end. In addition to the exceptional professionalism all around the Prayer memorial cards issued on request came out excellent. Thank you again to Chelsea and Phil for a perfect timely result. I will always refer friend to Barretts of Tenafly.

The care and service received from all the folks at Barrett, namely Chelsea and Phil, is uncompared. It was very difficult when I lost my father and fortunately enough I am not too familiar with the process of burying/cremating a loved one. The whole team at Barrett handled me and my family with such care and compassion and continually assured me not to worry, that they would guide me through all the necessary steps. They were not only responsive and organized with each step of the process but also were very careful not to place any added pressure or rush any of the decisions to be made. I feel very fortunate to have worked with such good people during this difficult time.
