Sandra is the best!! I went to her after the first place I got my dress altered at wouldn’t help me. We were on a tight time crunch , I needed more alterations due to losing weight and Sandra made it happen with ease and assurance. I wish I would’ve went to her from the very beginning. She is an expert, my dress is covered in lace detail with sequins, she altered it flawlessly. She does great work and you can tell how passionate she is.Thank you so much Sandra, you are amazing! My big day wouldn’t have been successful without your help. I will recommend everyone I can to you!

Some “influencer” allegedly had a bad experience and now all of her followers are giving Sandra’s shop 1-star reviews. It doesn’t seem coincidental that the majority, if not all, of the 1-star reviews are within the last day or so.But rather than speculate on others, let me tell you my experience with Sandra. When I was in a pinch, and all tailors were unavailable, Sandra told me she could get it done. She took my items, stayed late, and turned them around for me in a day. And she did it flawlessly.THANK YOU, Sandra.

I used Sandra for my wedding gown alterations and I would highly recommend her to other brides-to-be. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. I work a 9-5 job and live in Monmouth County and she would stay late to accommodate my appointments. She made me feel comfortable throughout every alternation appointment. She is very knowledgeable and I always trusted her recommendations. During the first appointment she examined my dress and noticed flaws & fit errors . She will never make you feel pressured to make a certain decision or overpay. I had the most perfect dress, with the most perfect fit and I was comfortable throughout the whole night. She truly is fabulous and I cannot recommend her enough. Highly recommend!

I had a pillow with embroidery and the pillow fabric was fraying. I wanted to save the embroidery as it had been done by my husband's great grandmother. Sandra was able to transfer the embroidery to new fabric and make a pillow complete with zipper. She did an amazing job and I am very thankful for her talents. I will bring any future fabric projects to her with confidence that I will be happy with her work. I have attached a picture of the finished pillow.

Had such a great experience with Sandra Diaz! I had ordered a prom dress second hand and she was able to alter almost everything about it so that it looked perfect on me. She is such a lovely person and her kindness made it so easy to work with her. I definitely recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about Sandra Diaz. Her abilities as a seamstress, her eye for detail and fabric choices, her ability to bring my vision to reality... 5 stars for all of it. But even more than that, her kindness and the care she put into every stitch and each interaction with me was truly the best part of working with her. She wanted me to look my absolute best even more than I did. She is just who you want caring for you as you prepare for your wedding day. I would recommend her wholeheartedly for custom bridal gowns and bridal attire.I showed her a photo of a 50s inspired dress and she created an almost exact replica. She even made a little veil / fascinator for me that hit the exact right note. She has excellent taste in fabrics and went into NYC specifically to find me the perfect (and affordable) silk in a gorgeous color that really captured the look I wanted. She understood exactly what I was going for and made it reality.Honestly, 10 out of 10 stars for her, her skill and taste, and her kindheartedness and care.

I worked with Sandi for my 11/11 fall wedding. Sandi altered all three of my wedding dresses and made me a custom veil. My main wedding dress required full reconstruction and Sandi did an amazing job. I had 11 dress fittings (much more than the average bride) and each time, Sandi worked diligently to make changes to my dress that made it more “me” design-wise. My other dresses required more minor touches to ensure a custom fit. She was a pleasure to work with, clearly really knows her craft, & was extremely accommodating to my schedule. Many times, Sandi held fittings with me in the late evenings and would immediately jump into working on my dresses the next morning.Given that my dresses were a bit non-traditional (a lot of sheer fabric), Sandi counseled me on how to take care of my dresses on my wedding day. She also gifted me a brand-new emergency stain remover & taught me and my maid of honor what to do if anything happened. Out of all my wedding vendors, Sandi worked the hardest & most hours (I’m sure she spent at least 50 hours working on my dresses).As a Latina myself, I wanted to work with a Latina seamstress & I’m glad I found Sandi. Her ability to not just alter but reconstruct dresses is what I would say sets her apart from an average seamstress. Sandi essentially performed dress surgery on my main wedding dress (both in and out). I loved working with Sandi and would recommend her work.

don't normally leave reviews but I do think this one may be important to share. I came across Sandra through a Google search and saw all the amazing reviews, so immediately wanted to come in and discuss having both my wedding and reception dress altered. I will say she was very knowledgeable in understanding the construction of each gown and explaining what she would have to do in order to alter them to my body. The price she gave seemed kind of high, but of course not having any knowledge of the industry, I gave her the deposit for each dress and left. After doing some research and talking to some other brides in the area, I did in fact realize her pricing was EXTREMELY higher than others in the North Jersey area. Unfortunately, my father who had agreed to pay for alterations wasn't comfortable with paying that much, so I emailed her asking if she had started working on my dresses, because if not, I'd like to have them back. She did say she started working on my main dress but didn't begin the reception dress which was fine, I told her I would just take that dress and she can work on my main dress. As my first fitting came to an end and I brought up my reception dress, she stated that she felt the need to "charge me" because she had taken scissors to my dress to cut where to hem my gown. I understood and said, that should come out of the deposit I gave you for this dress, and she insisted that it should be a separate and additional amount. I wanted to say how ABNORMAL that is being that the deposit I gave her was a sum of each deposit amount for each dress. Nevertheless, I agreed, and just asked for assurance that the total amount I have already given her would be applied to the dress she was in fact working on, and we ran the numbers. Then when I asked her the cost for taking shears to my dress and cutting the bottom, she told me $200. Again, this number is so high in my opinion, but as a business owner myself I didn't want to disrespect her pricing and paid. Then on my final visit, I put my gown on and ask for assistance zipping up, and she says, blunt and matter of fact "It won't go up, you must have gained weight". To which I replied "I haven't, I've lost 7lbs since you last saw me", and then she gets the zipper up. I will say the alterations she did do were very nice and I didn't have an issue with them besides the fact that she forgot to sew on the buttons for my detachable sleeves, and then admitted to loosing them, and had to use her own. But what truly made me uncomfortable with that final interaction was when she asked if I was putting my dress on at the venue and stressing how my zipper might even "burst" open when I sat down. And I had my mom look through images that we took at my previous appointments with her and even when I first got my dress and it has always fit me the same. My mom felt as though she was trying to upsell us into taking out my dress, but that was her perception. I just feel as though as a bride weight is already such a sensitive topic, there are ways to talk about it, and to bring it up in an accusatory manner, when I know for a fact I lost weight was incredibly inappropriate. So with all that said, I can't say I recommend coming here for your alterations. Throughout my whole experience I felt like I was being taken advantage of.

Working with Sandra was an absolute pleasure. I had her alter a bridal jumpsuit and gown for my wedding. For the jumpsuit, she expertly took in the waist (having to work around boning in the jumpsuit) and did a hem. As for the gown, she shortened the torso, adjusted the sleeves, made the waist and hips fit like a glove, and added a bustle. I felt that she had my best interests in mind when making alteration suggestions and I never felt pressured into unecessary/unwanted adjustments. I felt taken care of and at ease with Sandra helping make everything fit just perfectly for my wedding. I highly recommend brides in the area use Sandra for their alterations!

Sandra did the alterations for my wedding dress, party dress, and mother in law’s dress. She is the BEST ever and I could not have been more happy with the results. Sandra is amazingly talented and I knew I was in very good hands. She added a beautiful bustle to my dress (which was very delicate fabric) and was an absolute delight to work with.
