“It’s hard getting up on a surf board. And it can be frustrating when you don’t. I have been working on my core and leg muscles for several months specifically in preparation to get up on a surf board because, as you may know, I’m a full grown man—not a little kid. Give a kid a board and they’ll get up. Probably right away. But not us adults. We need lessons! (And work on our core and hip flexors.) When I found Chris and his groovy gang of 7 mile surfers, it was like finding treasure on the beach! Being around Chris, you can tell he has surfing in his bones. He exudes patience and kindness. What he wants to give you? Not just the joy of standing up on a surf board as you ride the sparkly blue-green ocean in the July sun, but the joy of learning something new! Everyone in our class were first timers and we all got up and even rode the same wave together. So now I call myself a surfer! I surf buddy. And you can too.
