fabulous shopping experience!the staff is very courteous and helpful . the discounted food items are a wonderful alternative for me and my husband . only 2 of plus to cook for ; why? this store has anything you could want to eat already prepared and ready to take home . I highly recommend this store over any others in the area

shoprite? no. i think we shop WRONG! hahahah!!! not only was my experience less than RITE, it was completly lacking in the "shop" department. cant find anything here. the crying children that seem to LIVE IN THIS location, caused me to have my own distressing tantrum in the canned vegetable aisle. as a lover of water chestnuts, this was comeplty embarrassing. also, if you can-not (water chesnuts) trust people to purchase their perishables and non perishable items LEGALLY, than might I suggest opening more than ONE FaCKING REGISTER. I ALLEGEDLY saw someone allegedly shoplift, but I ALLEGEDLY did not say anything. he was now shopping rite.

Really still can't believe how horrible this place is after getting a really great job to replace them. When I've worked at enough places to know, and its crazy thinking this is the worst place I've ever been at. & When I've been at another shoprite location before and it couldn't be compared to this place of Manahawkin. Months later still in disbelief and here I am still talking about it. Having been at similar stores/job positions, they all make this location look like it has the poorest most toxic management followed with a ton of negative miserable coworkers all talking crap about each other and the place. I actually really feel bad for anyone thats still there dealing with them, being overworked to point of hands/fingers bleeding from side of nails & with them being all anal strict about making you keep count of what you do basically demanding you meet a mandatory quota or else with their complicated counting system, that feels so pointless when you already know management has records of whats coming in and other places aren't like this at all- nope not even the other shoprite. It's like whats the point of telling them the count they like to hear whether you did it or not, if in the end all it comes down to is pretty much a random managers word if they like you enough to keep you around. no point in thinking cameras are there to reassure them your clearly working doing your job. its like some weird click going on there that for some reason specifically for overnights you see a lot of really old old ppl working that look like they should be home sleeping. Next time you visit pay close attention to the shelves notice how messy it is - you need to look past the 1st item bc they just have a habit of moving one item up to the edge. Its ridiculous how much pallets of crap they have coming in every night all like whos doing all the ordering , causing all this overstock to happen. People are rushed to just put everything on the shelf even if it wont fit ' just smush it in, just push it way in the back ' they say. Place is ran so poorly. If you care about fresh expiration dates and care about not getting sick or catching covid you won't shop at this specific location. Filthy place.Extramillions TTV

I live in Florida but have family members that are very dear to me that live in NJ. One of them works at Shop-Rite in Manahawkin in the deli department. She is recently hired and a coworker named Anne who has worked there for over a decade goes out of her way to be rude to this new employee even as far as calling her child a derogatory name. This was done on the employees day off while she was shopping with her 3 year old son. When she complained to HR she was told to pretty much let it go after talking to Anne and hearing her side the new employee was told Anne may be going senile if she felt uncomfortable she could put in for a transfer. What a way to handle an employees complaint....A good business always starts from the upper management and in return makes happy employees and satisfied customers. Shame on you Shop-Rite not to even write Anne up.

PROS: Organized items, clean store, friendly cashier.CONS: SOUR New England clam chowder. This is NOT ok. It's disgusting. Reheated, re-used, mix batches of soup is NEVER ok. Will never purchase soup from this location. Also, first store that I ever been to without any food shield/ sneeze guard in place in the soup section. Things can easily fall in there hair, spit, dust...so gross.

Was in yesterday. New owners have changed everything around. Meat counters are placed horizontally across the back of the store. I have been going to this store for 50 years. Now I can't find anything. The aisle past the meat section juts out towards the back of the store now they built it out longer than the rest. How people pass each other with carts I don't know. Prices are unbelievable. 5.99 an Lb for chop meat. All they care about is their own generic stuff like bowl and basket, wholesome pantry. Staff standing in a cluster of three complaining about new management. Said the Permutters cared about the staff and customers. New Sakers own so many stores they couldn't possibly monitor each one effectively. I asked the customer service desk for a hand basket. Said they were stolen. All of them, by the customers. When we started making them pay for bags they took the baskets home. (!!). People making their own little statement against management? Wish there was another decent option. I mostly go to Acme because I can't stand Shop Rite any more. Acme isn't good but at least I can find what I am looking for quickly. Shop Rite is a serious commitment of time

we live locally and usually don't go to this particular grocery store during the summer in the daytime, because it gets crazy busy with visitors from LBI. Before the new owners took over, we would shop there either at night or during the day in the " off season" months...the prices were good, the selection was great, and it was easy to navigate. we went there yesterday and were surprised there weren't many people there. When we got inside the store, I realized why. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to the aisles...the meat department is a complete mess, forget the deli ( 10 minutes to get 1 lb of American cheese?) , the brand name items have practically disappeared, it smells, the aisles are narrow with poles in the middle of some of them, the cashier was like a zombie, it's just terrible. shopping there is like a maze...and we weren't the only ones confused...shoppers walking around grumbling about the changes and not being able to find items where they should be. it took a good 2 hours to navigate a grocery store we've been going to for 18 years! whoever designed the new layout should be fired immediately from that position and made to wander the parking lot that is littered with wayward carts! It used to be nice to have the carts in a stall where you put a quarter in to get one, but they got rid of that too and now it's like a cart mine field out there. We'll shop at ACME from now on, the prices aren't much higher then Shop Rite, and it's clean and organized. It's ok to make changes, but I would've hoped they'd be for the better. See ya, Shop Rite, you won't be missed.

Too crowded, long wait times for everything, completely disorganized, doesn't have as many name brand items as it used to and sorry but the generic doesn't cut it for everything

Under new management this has become the most customer unfriendly business. To begin with on approaching the store shopping carts are placed about 30 yards from the entrance and you need to wend your way through furniture and plants to get there. Once inside the organization of products on the rows is bizarre at best. Imagine drink mixers across the aisle from insecticides. The selection of products has been reduced with store brand items predominating. On the upside prices remain competitive Management has a long way to go to make the store customer friendly.

Ridiculous waiting times for deli. You could grow old and die before you get waited on. 6-7 people working behind counter and only 4 customers standing there. Horrible system. How about an express option for those wanting one or two items???

Always very friendly and courteous staff and they've always been very quick too. Most of our prescriptions are ready for pickup in under an hour. We've been using ShopRite for years and have had nothing but positive experiences.
