The name "care" should not be in the title of this facility. The staff completely lacks compassion and would deny your grandmother care if it would bring them personal benefit. "First do no harm" is certainly not practiced at this location.

Optum urgent care center. Clean, and relatively empty when I needed to drop in to do a test because I had a cough. Efficient, took my co-pay, and then the provider gave me the test results, a note for work, and sent the prescription to the pharmacy. I wish they had a pediatrican here and took regular patient visits instead of just urgent care!

My experience here was extremely positive so far. I like the concept of booking an appointment. I was seen right away with little to no wait.

This is now Riverside Urgent Care for the record. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The wait was ridiculous. I came on a Sunday and I'm still waiting. I came at 9am and I'm still waiting at 1pm. They have one doctor and one nurse on a Sunday! I have seen numerous people complain since I've been waiting. Everyone is upset. This should never happen during a pandemic. Don't go here...

3rd visit/ in the last 6 days... numerous calls made to follow up on a prescription.. Regina answers the phone, not the nicest, and will leave you on hold for 10 minutes + each time. No one ever calls you back. Recently changed from MedExpress to now Riverside Urgent Care. They tried to charge me a co-pay twice for the same original issue because they didn’t get my request correct the first time. I’ll probably go to CityMD from now on.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! If I could give a zero I would. Waited 3 hours, want in to check on why it was taking so long, met with “opps we dropped you line. “ They we about to cancel me when one receptionist capitulated that they had to take me. When I got the intake finally the lady was rude on the phone. When I brought it to the manager she was even more rude and started a cat fight with me. She yell at me and told me it was my fault. When I demand my money back. She shoved the invoice at me and gave me a nasty look. You should look into new receptionists and a better process. No empathy at all. Deplorable.

Horrible experience trying to get COVID-19 test. I was told by somewhere there the week before to make sure I get there early for in car testing and to call themFrom parking lot when they open at 8. Got there at 6 am hoping to be the first. Only car there till 7:30. No system whatsoever of where to form car line or anything. Lot was pretty busy by 8:00. Called when they opened and spoke with someone who then put me on hold and forgot about me. I left. Do not go here for testing. No system and totally disorganized

I'm required to get tested for covid-19 before going off to university next week, and my doctor referred me to this center. I was told that they accepted walk-ins and I could be tested by parking in the lot and calling once i was there. I arrived at 2:30pm and called only to be turned away because they ran out of whatever they needed to use to test until 3:30pm. They told me to come back in an hour, so I left and did as they said. Once I called, I was met with further problems, saying I needed to show symptoms and they were only accepting testing for emergencies. When I said I needed to get tested for my university, they said to come back in the morning and promptly hung up on me. So I drove here twice and with no results due to their poor communication of these requirements unbeknownst to me! I understand they may be busy, but their service was also cold and rude. A quick goodbye could have at least been said! I will not be coming back here in the morning and will instead find a better place to get tested for covid-19 that does not have me waste my time and gas.

THINKING OF GETTING A "FREE" COVID 19 TEST AT MedExpress? . . . . BETTER BRING YOUR WALLETMy husband went to MedExpress in Springfield Township to get a "Free" COVID 19 test as we have full health insurance benefits through Blue Shield. Upon arrival, the receptionist told him he needed to pay his co payment. My husband questioned the receptionist and said he thought the test was free? The NJ State website lists a number of free testing sites, and MedExpress is specifically listed as one of those free testing locations. The receptionist simply responded to my husband by saying that they collect co payments and that he would need to contact his insurance company and seek reimbursement from the insurance company for the co pay amount. After speaking with the receptionist but prior to having the COVID test, my husband called the insurance carrier and the insurance representative told him that the information he was getting from MEDExpress was absolutely incorrect. The insurance Representative told him that it was a government mandate that all COVID 19 tests should be free and the medical provider should not be collecting a co pay. After he got off the phone with the insurance representative, he went back to the receptionist and explained to her the conversation with the insurance company and that it was a government mandate that the COVID 19 tests be free. The receptionist did not address the point about the government mandate but instead told my husband that at MedEXpress they collect co payments and that if he didn't like it, he could cancel his appointment. My husband cancelled his appointment and left. This place is a complete scam and is collecting co payments from patients that receive COVID 19 testing IN ADDITION to being reimbursed 100% from the patients' insurance carrier. You can get truly free COVID tests at other locations such as Kean University drive through. They do not collect any money from you. You do need an appointment, but at least it is legit. Not like this place that is taking advantage of people during this pandemic. Shame on MedExpress!

I was greeted with the nicest people as soon as I walked through the door. I was in a lot of pain and the staff and doctors made me feel like I was the only one there that had an issue. The place is immaculate. Very very clean. I live about 25 minutes from this location but wouldn’t hesitate to make the drive again should I need their help. Thank you to all who works here. Wonderful group of people!

one star is too high a rating! i cannot explain what a terrible experience i had dealing with this office and the Watchung location. I called earlier today and they said I didn’t need an appointment. I get to the Springfield location to find out that there were no more test kits for today and that I should go to the Watchung location. The receptionist called the Watchung location and told them to save a test kit for me, so I went there. When I get to the Watchung location they said “we don’t save test kits for anybody.” So now I have wasted about 15 miles worth of gas and an hour of my time and I am not tested for COVID-19. The receptionist at the Springfield office said that someone must have taken the saved kit while I was in route to the next location.

Let me Begin by saying that my physician was wonderful! she listened to what ails mean she gave suggestions I did not feel rushed. Now the problem and the reason for the low score is for the the receptionistwith whom we have to call and speak to and the ones we receive our discharge paperwork from. when I called in I asked do I need to make an appointment to come in because of the covid-19 pandemic we are currently in.the dry toned young lady which I now know is the young lady with the waist-length blond braids advised me that they do not take appointments, I knew this to be the case as this was an urgent care facility I was merely inquiring what steps needed to be taken and our new normal in order to be seen. I was told just call when you get outside. when I arrived I did as instructed I did call back into the facility advising that I was outside hoping to be seen by a doctor. The young lady went through the normal registration questions took my payment information I informed her that I did need a receipt she in turn told me that I could get it when I came inside, I said thank you she hung up the phoneabruptly not inquiring if I had any other questions or advising someone would be with me shortly or that there was going to be a 45-minute delay anyting just a hang up. When my visit with the Dr. was completed I informed the doctor that I needed a receipt to which she said I would get outside with my discharge paperwork from the front desk. When I walk to the lobby it what's empty so I went to the receptionist window to be told have a seat I'll let you know when I have printed it. I step away from the window while my documents were being prepared I guess. I am still the only person in the facility in the waiting area... Now the other receptionist calls my name as if it were a crowded waiting area and she was unsure of whose name she was calling. I would like to say that this was a unique situation with the receptionist but this is a regular occurrence and as much as I like the physicians here I am positive that I will not be back.
