“Unlike other furniture stores on Route 22, we weren't "jumped on" the moment we walked in the door. Our sales person (Alan Granetz) was extremely knowlegeable and helpful. He introduced himself, asked how he could assist us (asked what were we looking for), and then guided us to where the said items were located. He then gave us time to browse with out breathing down our necks. When he saw we appeared interested in a couple of pieces he aporoached us and explained available options (manual, motorized, upholstry...etc) and asked if we had any questions. He then checked availability. He was extremely attentive without be overbearing. The other sales reps on the floor appeared to have a similar sales approach. I usually hate furniture shopping because most sales people are pushy and overbearing. That was not the case at La-z-y North Plainfield. I highly reccomend them.”

It was our first experience of working with an interior designer, which Ethan Allen provides as part of the shopping experience. Gail Taenzler was the interior designer that worked with us, and what a difference she made! My wife and Gail really connected, and there's no way we would've been able to achieve the final result without Gail's expert planning. She prepared in advance design ideas, and even came to our house several times to see if the color schemes and selected fabrics worked. Gail worked with the installers and ensured that every detail was correct. And of course, I need to mention the exceptional quality that Ethan Allen is known for. “I really though I was not going to like sleep number as a bed. I was wrong. the second i walked in i was greeted by sales rep Joe, and he has a great attitude. Its like speaking to a real person instead of a trained robot. Joe had us lay down on several beds, tested our bodies and figured out what our personal sleep numbers were and it was such an amazing experience. aside from Joe being absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable and had all the answers to any of my bed related questions, the mattress.. omg the mattress. I am 30 years old with chronic back pain and scoliosis and this bed took away practically all my pain to the point where i could have instantly fallen asleep IN THE STORE! naturally i made a purchase and am currently replacing my tempurpedic with a new sleep number. soft in all the right places and solid in all the right spots. i have never been able to lay down without pain. i am so grateful for all of joe's assistance and persistence on making sure he found just the right number for me to feel maximum relief and comfort. I am telling all my co workers and friends about this and telling them to go to this location and get a new mattress from Joe.”

“I recently had the pleasure of working with the Kamyar Minaeian of Safavieh, Livingston store, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for his exceptional service. From start to finish, he went above and beyond to ensure that we were completely satisfied with our carpet purchase.
First and foremost, he helped us select the perfect carpet for our home, taking into consideration our preferences and needs. Despite our careful selection, there was a mix-up at the warehouse, and the wrong carpet was delivered to our house. However, the Kamyar handled the situation with grace and professionalism. He apologized multiple times, even though it wasn't his mistake, and personally took it upon himself to rectify the situation.
Not only did he arrange for the correct carpet to be delivered promptly, but he also personally came to our house to deliver and oversee the installation. “The coolest place in NJ, owner, Amy search is far and wide, and only brings the coolest things into her shop. I have purchased mirrors and dining tables and trinkets from the jeweler in the back of the store who is also fabulous. It’s a must visit. You will love everything in there and you can just keep going back because she always has it changed inventory of great fines. And if you find a large item and need it delivered, she has the most absolute qualified mover, who is kind, respectful, and very careful with what you have just purchased, and its rates are reasonable.”

“Very good prices, they sell curtains, sheets, cushions, shoes, purses, suitcases, a little bit of everything. The only bad thing is an employee who has you ask her about something and she ignores you, sometimes she looks at you badly, other times she talks bad to you, to me and me husband yelled at us because I went to get something and she thought I had dropped shoes and we were arriving, I didn't answer back because I thought she was having a bad day, and that happens to many of us but yesterday I went again and told her I spoke to ask her about some curtains and she just looked at me badly and left. She never answered me, stop, she is like that, her attitude is like that. To avoid trouble now I better send my husband shopping”

“What a find this place is! The Brass Shop has been in business for over 50 years and that was a good omen. We needed to have an old bell jar lamp rewired and cleaned up. It was done within a few days. Frank, the owner, was great to work with and very helpful in having us video how to reassemble our pendant. And, the price was a quarter of what a store in Summit was going to charge for the same work...with no attitude.”
