I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to one of my favorite new local businesses.. I tracked down Cardinal garden center after seeing a delivery of beautiful laurel plants arrive at my neighbor’s house while I was out on a walk. I immediately knew I wanted to buy my plants at Cardinal because they were of such obvious high quality. Not only do they have lovely plants, but the staff is helpful, knowledgeable and just basically awesome. I’m new to the northeast so they spent plenty of time discussing my new yard’s many landscaping needs and walking me through their inventory. They also have an excellent selection of pots—much better than the local big box stores. On my first visit they helped me choose two large planters for a pair of enormous Boston ferns along with drainage rocks and top-notch potting soil. I also purchased a gorgeous pair of mums for my front porch and a set of boxwoods to later replace the mums. On a recent visit, I found the most beautiful carving pumpkins and a couple of cute decorative ones. Have you watched the movie “”You’ve Got Mail.” A visit to Cardinal is like stopping by “”The Shop Around the Corner.” You receive plenty of personalized service from a knowledgeable staff.I stopped by Cardinal this morning and discovered a wonderful selection of Frazier and Balsam Firs. They were very fresh and full. I also picked up a beautiful wreath.

We’ve been going to Cardinal Nursery in Springfield for a few years now for all of our spring and summer plants and shrubs. They are excellent to work with and very knowledgeable. For the past two years now, we started going there for our fresh cut Christmas trees. Amazing selection and same professional manner. I can’t recommend them highly enough.Thank you for helping make our holidays that much brighter. ?

My 67 year old Father bought a plant from this place last Tuesday - the plant died not even a week later. My Dad went back to the place to exchange it and the owner said no. He not only said No - but he was very adamant and rude. My Dad explained how he also works in business and the right thing to do is to do the exchange - make the customer happy. Clearly this plant was sick. My Dad is an honest man who would never pull a fast one. Finally after a lot of back and forth and rude comments from the owner the owner brings out a new plant and thrusts it into my Dads chest. He doesn't give it to him- he shoves the plant into him. Reporting this to the BBB. TERRIBLE!!!

They took the time to answer all my gardening questions. They also put all my bags of mulch into my car!! They have a nice variety of plants and shrubs. Great place!!

Great selection of plants..the gentleman who works there is always helpful & friendly..the woman is abrasive & rude..if I go back I will prob pull back out if she is there..she can def ruin your day. Had 2 deduct 2 stars for her behavior.

This place is great and has some of the best variety of plants and knowledgeable employees out there, everything is very well kept up with and tidy. If you are looking to work here however, be mindful of the main woman in charge; she is the single most disrespectful human I've ever faced in or out of a workplace. Zero patience, zero empathy, and zero accountability if called out on terrible actions. Aside from that single aspect I recommend this place to everyone.

Superb experience. The owner personally walked me around and answered my questions/made recommendations. For garden supplies, this beats Home Depot or Lowes - no question about it. I come visit here periodically, just to see what's new for the season. Some good bargains may be available.
