I recently visited Home Depot in Edison on rt 1to purchase a plastic tarp and overall had a positive experience. The store was clean and well-organized, making it easy to find the item I was looking for. The associates were friendly and helpful, offering to assist me in finding the right size tarp for my needs. The tarp itself was of good quality and reasonably priced. Overall, I was satisfied with my visit to Home Depot and would recommend it to others in need of home improvement supplies.

I usually go to the S. Plainfield Home Depot where I know nearly all the dayside crew. Once in a while, I will go to the one on RT. 1 because Its right off 287 and I can get right back on. A few times Ive noticed the self check out "watchers" being a bit overzealous. Today, July 27,2022 I encountered Marco..or Marcos. EIther way, im done ringing up my items, and Im just about to press the "Print" option for my receipt. As soon as my finger nears the screen, a big, over anxious kid Marcos jumps out from between the racks that seperate the two check out areas. He yells out ,"BYE!!!!" I look up at him and say, "What?" He replies, "Are you hard of hearing? I said, BYE!!" Now Im just lost...Where did you come from? There was a female here at first...she stepped off to assist another associate not far from this area. So I dont want to assume I was being watched by Marco the entire time, but...If it walks and quacks like a duck...then........oh well. So I ask the lady there was the kid ok...(as in is he OK like, special needs or anything.) I have a sibling who is, so I know how to engage. Turns out he wasnt autistic or anything according to her. HE was just doing his job by crossing from HIS side of the self check out...WAY over to HER side just to yell out "BYE!" to me. Mind you, I know the protocol for a lot of the businesses is, "Say hello and good bye to let them know, "Hey we see you, and we are paying attention." I know this. For him to come way over to the area where I was just to say that, really pissed me off a lot. I feel watched EVERY time I go into this branch by these self check out security people. Once I bought a garbage can and lid along with nearly 400.00 worth of other items. Guess who was on the scene to check inside the can to make sure I only had one can and one lid...or nothing 'Accidentally' fell inside? BYE! I wont be back to this one again.

I stand patiently for 10 minutes with a few other customers waiting for a forklift driver to finish loading palettes onto the floor. Finally I waved and asked - how much longer until I can get down the aisle to look at lights? He said about another 30 mins. I guess the customer doesn't really matter. I'm going to get this done at ACE. Honestly, the store closes at 9 and you want me to wait another 30 minutes to get down the aisle. Put yourself in the customers shoes please.

Putting aside the fact that there is never anybody actually working in their department, and when you do find somebody the nasty, ignorant, And poor customer service is ridiculous! I actually had a female employee at their “pro desk“ suck her teeth and rolled her eyes when asked a question. When your customers know 90% more about your products and your tools maybe your employees ignorance should be toned down

Don't believe what any of the Home Depot Installation sales reps tell you about their windows/doors "Double Lifetime Warranty." It's simply not true. Labor is not covered beyond 1 year! Look at their contract verbiage below. When I inquired about the discrepancy, this was my reply: "My understanding is the line references our lowest warranty that was available on an American Craftsman window which is 1 year and the others would in essence be an upgrade to it. I can assure you having been with Home Depot in the window installations business for over 8 years now they consistently favor on the side of taking care of the customer including any service concerns and issues." It's b******* because the salespeople will be long gone by the time you file a claim. It's what's in the contract that you sign that matters in the eyes of the law; not a marketing brochure or said in an email. Plygem/Simonton's customer service rep, Mikka, told me that they get lots of complaints from unhappy customers when Home Depot does not honor the warranty. Moreover, they told me HD's (underpaid) subcontractor installers make a lot of mistakes. All confirmed by Simonton's supervisor, Lori Hendershot. The 6500 series window itself is warranted for 20 years and prorated afterwards. This is taken from their contract. Workmanship is only for 1 year! 7. WARRANTY AND LIMITATION ON WARRANTIES: (a) Warranty: Unless otherwise stated in the Agreement, Home Depot warrants for 1 year from the completion date that all Services shall (i) be performed with good workmanship and (ii) conform to the requirements of the Agreement. During the warranty period and within a reasonable time after receiving notice from You of a warranty claim, Home Depot may, at its sole option (i) correct or replace each Defect, or (ii) remove each Defect and refund the full purchase price thereof to You; provided, however, that all warranties are voided if (1) anyone other than Home Depot or Service Provider performs work upon or otherwise modifies any materials or Services provided under this Agreement, or (2) You fail to pay Home Depot as provided in this Agreement. (b) Limitation on Warranties: THE WARRANTIES PROVIDED IN THIS AGREEMENT ARE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE FOREGOING EXPRESS WARRANTIES CONTAINED IN PARAGRAPH 7A, IN THE WARRANTY SECTION OF THE AGREEMENT, IF ANY, OR IN THE STATE SUPPLEMENT, IF ANY. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT NO OTHER WARRANTIES ARE MADE OR GIVEN BY HOME DEPOT OR SERVICE PROVIDER, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY FOR FITNESS OF PURPOSE, WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR ANY OTHER ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES. HOME DEPOT'S EXPRESS WARRANTIES ARE VOIDED FOR ANY DEFECT CAUSED BY ABUSE, MISUSE, NEGLECT, ACTS OF GOD, LACK OF PRESCRIBED OR STANDARD MAINTENANCE, OR IMPROPER CARE/CLEANING. ANY MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES PROVIDED FOR GOODS, MATERIALS, OR EQUIPMENT WILL BE PASSED THROUGH BY HOME DEPOT TO YOU, AND YOU AGREE TO LOOK SOLELY TO SUCH MANUFACTURER FOR REMEDY OF ANY DEFECT IN SUCH GOODS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT. HOME DEPOT MAY ASSIST YOU WITH WARRANTY CLAIMS AGAINST MANUFACTURERS.

RACIST STAFF! One of their self checkout associates took the scanner gun from my hand and was scanning my stuff and asking if I was making sure I got everything. Made me feel UNCOMFORTABLE, and made me feel like I was STEALING. I will NEVER SHOP AGAIN AT THIS HOME DEPOT EVER AGAIN!!!

I went to home depot to get a simple house key made. Standing by key making for 10 minutes while several employees are chatting with each other. I asked for help and was told that someone would be there. I went to service desk and they paged. Key made, went home, DOESN'T FIT .drive back, service desk asked for manager. I was annoyed and was told I shouldn't have an attitude. REALLY BECAUSE I SHOULD EXPECT THIS LEVEL OF LAZY INCOMPETENCE?

In Continuance of my review with the south Plainfield store, the manager there called the Edison store to see if they had the specific door I was looking for . The employee looking, I'm not sure if they even looked but kept us on hold for 20 plus minutes. At that point I already drove to Edison HD. Employee got back on the phone finally to say there were none in stock.. so I went inside to see if there was maybe another door I'd like and to my surprise they had 3 of the doors I was looking for right where they were suppose to be so the guy didn't even look!! I had a nice employee help me get the door and bring to the register. I then needed help getting it in my car and they sent the tiniest man to help.... I had to laugh and ask for someone else because he just could not do the job.

Great service. I was scared going to Home Depot due to corona, but they've done a great job protecting their employees and customers. Got what I needed fast.

Don’t bother trying to call the store. No one answers. Not even to let them know you are there for a curbside pick up. Just have to pray someone nice comes out and notices you.

The security guards allowing customers inside are rude and nasty not only to the customers but to the employees. The military style antics are unacceptable.
