I applied to a job here, and looking over the information about them online they were an established company and was looking forward to possibly getting a job there. It was an entry level job and i had a lot of experience as an admin. Probably not exactly what i did, but I'm a quick learner and technically inclined individual. I came to the interview assuming HR and the interviewer knew what my experience was. The interviewer was very friendly and the interview had a casual vibe. She discussed what the job entailed said it was easy but a lot. I came from a background that i had to learn a whole process with letters and resources and do multiple mail merges for a volume of health plans that had around five letters each, so didn't think their job sounded like anything i couldn't learn. I told her more about my background and she I was asked a few questions that were not typical for a company to ask. Kind of personal but i answered. I came home and saw they already rejected my application. I immediately called the HR contact that originally reached out to me and she did not know the reason and told me she would ask the interviewer and get back to me. So to wrap this up, it seems the HR person did not perform her due diligence by asking me more details of what i did at my job during her screening of my application. The interviewer decided that she wasn't confident i could handle their order volume. If they would see what i did on my former job that would not be even a consideration. I sent out thousands of letters each month and daily mailings of 200 each day. These employers will use any excuse to not hire someone, it was an entry level job that training was going to be provided. I feel i was discriminated against for whatever reason. I wouldn't recommend interviewing here, it's hard to believe i was the first person they did this to. I don't know why companies do this, it's reflects poorly on them. I can see if i wasn't qualified but i don't think i was fairly accessed.
