Utterly incompetent staff. We have yet to have a vacation hold that did not result in mail and packages being delivered while we were away. Apparently they cannot get it together.

The customer service here this morning was awful. It was only 2 people inside and no one wanted to assist. When finally helped the postal worker was talking loud and rolling her eyes. Never had that experience here in the 24 years of coming here.

The worst Post Office with the worst service. I would not give them a 1 star. Packages don’t go out on time or they don’t have stamps because post master have the key and didn’t come to work. People called out that’s way your package didn’t get scanned in for two day it’s will show tonight. The hole office needs to be replaced or trained over.

I went in today to have a package delivered and asked the employer if she had a pen all the pens at the counters are broken ! She is so nasty today and any other time I was in there ! Why is something not being done about this situation there are a lot of people who would love her job !!!

I had a horrible experience today and so glad it wasn’t just me. Must have had the same person at the desk. The place was empty two days before Christmas probably because nobody wants to deal with this employee. I had a prepaid package and wanted a simple scan and receipt and she told me to use the machine behind me. Really? I tried and it kept sending me in a loop and I asked if I could just stick it in a bin and the pointed to a bin next to the machine. She doesn’t want to do her job and would rather be replaced by a machine, I guess. Everyone has choices.

I have been patronizing the South Orange post office for over 35 years. South Orange post office employees have always been friendly, courteous, and helpful, which made this post office the most coveted to go to for my postal services.Recently, I have had the most uninviting experience at the South Orange post office with a new addition to its staff. My first encounter with this counter clerk was one that was off-putting because of their loud, coarse, rude demeanor not only towards me, but towards other postal customers, I left the counter with my package and went to another post office to conduct my postal business.The second encounter I had with this South Orange post office employee was once again one of loud and aggressive speaking to a post office customer regarding the delivery of his mail. Listening to the aggressive, loud tone of this person speaking to the customer made the atmosphere inside the post office uncomfortable.The third encounter, I was met with the same uncouth, discourteous attitude from behind the counter unwilling to provide service because they wanted to take a break. Again, I left and took my business to another post office. I'd like to note that they were the only counter clerk present, and only myself and another customer were inside the post office waiting for service.With the high standards South Orange post office has always had, this person should not be interacting with customers because their behavior does not fit into the culture of South Orange's post office. No one should be subjected to this low level of service.This postal employees behavior will surely drive customers away and hold them back from realizing their full potential as a postal service employee.I hope the South Orange post office provides this employee with training or a refresher on how to interact with the public to provide excellent customer service.

Went in a 4:30 and nobody was at the window, was about use the self service when a black came up and yelled at us to get out bc they were closing she yelled at me and told me to give her my package and she would scan it for me, then kicked us out

I want to start by saying our mail carrier is great! She's so friendly and waves at my dogs in the window all the time. The actual post office though ... are they trying to upset customers? There are so many posted signs around this place with various rules: don't ask to use my pen, don't place package on scale, I open at 8:30 and will not help until then. It just feels like staff is looking to tell me I did something wrong. I paid with a $20 just now and was told "you shouldn't use this big of a bill this late because I may not have change." Ok... I can pay by card, but also it's not my responsibility to consider how the post office might not have change. It's a $20 ... that's hardly a large bill.Maybe it's us the customers that are rude to postal workers and they're just giving us the same attitude back? Chicken or the egg, I suppose. But to the employees and especially management at the USPS South Orange, you have an average review score of 1.9 on Google. What are you doing about that??

I waited in line for 15 minutes and as soon as I got to the front, the woman snapped at me and refused to scan in my package because I had a QR code. She made me use the self service machine and now my package has been lost. It’s actually ridiculous how she was angry at me for expecting her to do her job and even more ridiculous that because I did it her way, now my package is gone.

would give 0 stars if I could.. They have incorrect hours in their window... Do NOT waste your time believing any business hours they post... This location is unreliable and unfriendly. Entire staff needs to be look at.
