“I love this place! It's very affordable. The rooms are nice for a motel. The place is clean. The staff is friendly. There's no continental breakfast and only a single soda machine on site, but there's several food options within walking distance, including a Burger King less than 5 minutes walk from the motel. If you drive for less than 5 minutes, those food options triple if not quadruple. It's conveniently down the road from the Walmart and it's accompanying shipping center, as well as a 7-11 in the opposite direction. There's several bus stops nearby that go to a variety of places including NYC, the American Dream Mall, Hackensack, Paterson, & the many cities in between.I just hope my nice review doesn't have this place so booked I can't get a room myself! “New, clean hotel, with essential services suitable for the frenetic life of New York. The strong point is the location, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, one of the coolest areas, literally a stone's throw from the Empire State Building, Grand Central, Macy's, Bryant Park, and so on and so forth. The staff is friendly and available to satisfy any extra requests. A mention for the kindness of the housekeepers and the Grab & Go room attendant. The latter was much appreciated, at any time of the day it is possible to refresh yourself with a hot coffee. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family for a trip to the big apple.”

“I took 1 star off the rooms, which were very nice, but so small for my husband who is in a wheelchair. Even the walker we use to get him a few steps proved challenging to use in the bathroom & to get him in the bed. Luckily we were only there 2 nights because there’s no way we could have worked around the challenges we faced for longer than that. The service we received was excellent, from check in to check out. It’s in a very convenient area for going to Broadway shows. I highly recommended Margaritaville Resort as great place to stay.”

“They go above and beyond to make you feel right at home. We felt like their only guests from the moment we walked in. It felt like a small boutique hotel right in the middle of midtown. It was our first time in NY and we will not stay anywhere else when we return”

“Dear Wallace Hotel Team,

I recently booked a room at The Wallace Hotel for my parents, and I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the exceptional experience they had.

From the moment they arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and provided all the amenities they could have asked for. The location was perfect for exploring New York City, and they appreciated the quiet and comfort of the hotel after a busy day.

One highlight of their stay was the outstanding service provided by the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure my parents' comfort and satisfaction, making their stay truly memorable.

I would like to give a special thanks to Kira Santiago, the Assistant Director of Rooms, for her genuine care in ensuring my parents had the perfect stay. Kira's attention to detail and warm hospitality made a significant difference. She took the time to understand their needs and went out of her way to accommodate them. Whether it was arranging special amenities in their room or providing personalized recommendations for local attractions, Kira's efforts were truly appreciated.

Additionally, I want to acknowledge doormen Jaysean and Juan for their exceptional assistance and friendliness. Their warm greetings and helpfulness made my parents feel welcome every time they entered or left the hotel. They always had a smile on their faces and were ready to assist with anything my parents needed, from carrying luggage to providing directions.

I highly recommend The Wallace Hotel to anyone visiting the city and suggest stopping by the Wallace Lounge for live music and lovely cocktails. It’s a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.

Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience for my parents.

Sophie Bennett

“I stay here almost once or twice a month and love the staff and amenities and location. Thank you! The one problem i struggle with is the lack of coffee. No coffee maker in room, none available upon request, and the lobby coffee isn’t available until 7am, which is way too late. Your only option is to walk across street at 6am, which is also not attractive. If they can figure this out this may be the only hotel i stay in NYC from now on, otherwise i may need to find another place!”

“When we were searching for properties for our visit to New York this month, we were so surprised to find the Harlem Flophouse, due to its uniqueness and competitive price.

It came for us to arrive and straight away we knew we made the right choice. The interior was so unique and inspiring, that you felt you were being transported back to the past. The checking in process was simple and when we arrived to our room, Rene had made a hand written sign with my wife's name on it and when we entered the room, the radio was playing with jazz, that fitted perfectly.

The room was fantastic and the facilities were just what we needed for our stay and despite people having concerns about sharing a bathroom with other guests, there were no issues at all for us.

We even had the privilege of meeting Rene's cat who welcomed us home after a night out, who was very friendly and even showed us to our room too.

When we were leaving, we met Rene, who was as friendly and inviting as the property.

Overall, The Harlem Flophouse is a cool jewel set in New York and we will definitely be back and I encourage others to go there for the experience.

“Location was very good. There was a WholeFoods at the end of the block and a cute coffee shop ( Variety) nearby.Loved near by bar Oscar Wildes and brunch place Grey Dog for brunch. The Hotel was clean and modern. The standard room was VERY small -about 200 sq ft.However, we didn’t spend too much time in the rooms. It’s NYC! We were out the whole day and just crashed here at night.”

“EVERYTHING DONE RIGHT Clean, serene, hot scene. What else do you want to know The Times Square Edition ticks all the boxes Gorgeous staff, gorgeous decor, and gorgeous spaces. The meals were amazing, the staff were amazing, and seriously good mixologists at the bar. (We had guests ---- picky epicurean guests ---- and they were universally complimentary) Our niggles: just a few actually. The rooms are cute if a little small. Closet space is negligible. The elevators can be a little slow at peak times (and there is no way to go straight from room s to a street -- although that is probably a good idea in these times). The other niggle? The room rates! At some times, have your "heart medication" to hand and banker on speed sis to take out a second mortgage. ( Yes -- that expensive!) Other than those minor items? An urban gem!”

“Excellent customer service and overall experience from the second our cab pulled up! The room was perfectly clean, including the bathroom and kitchen. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast room service is exceptional, dinner, not so much. At least what we ordered for dinner wasn't good. It was the fettuccine and suppose to be a white wine sauce if I remember correctly. The pasta tasted microwaved, and there was hardly any sauce. A better bet would be to go to the Italian restaurant downstairs for dinner, and the restaurant upstairs (where room service is from) for breakfast. We LOVED our French toast, potatoes and peppers, sausage, and berries. So so good. We ordered pastries the next morning and those were really good too. Housekeeping did a phenomenal job as well! We will be back :-)”

“We recently stayed at The Roxy in Tribeca. We often stay in New York City, and this is now our favorite luxury hotel. The vibe is great, the rooms are larger than most other hotels in its class, and the staff is terrific. I want to give a special mention to Roger at the front of the house. He is friendly, upbeat, and helpful and gets you off to a great start to your stay. Andy R.”

“FREE PARKING!...YES!Don't let this little independent hotel fool you. From the outside it might look like a small no name hotel, but once you get inside you realize what a nice hotel this is. It is extremely nice clean and the staff is very accommodating. Check in and check out or lightning fast. Got a little fridge, microwave safe the furniture is nice and newer and the sheets are clean and comfortable. This place is literally at the entrance to the Holland Tunnel and the train to go into new york. But most importantly it's free parking! Literally the only hotel in 100 miles that has free parkingI travel all over for work and stay at several hotels per month. This one just made my favorite list.”

“Wow. What a treat. From the moment you enter, the personalized service exceeds expectations. Details matter and that have it down. Rooms are chic and spacious. The rooftop bar has a stunning skyline view at sunset, the perfect start to a long evening regardless of where you go for dinner, but don’t miss the food in both restaurants, designed by Pierre Gagnaire. Head to Tsistou, their speakeasy off the lobby, for a nightcap and ask for AJ. The absolute best! Bring your black card. $$$$”

“We loved our 5 nights stay at Citizen M Bowery. Check-in was great despite the app not working properly. The front desk made sure we got a great room and it didn’t disappoint! As far as we know, all rooms are the same across all their hotels and focus on quality rather than size (great bed, great pillow, great showers). We stayed in many of their hotels before and the quality remains consistent. The stay would have been 5 stars but we were unlucky and had a couple issues with the rooms (the door lock broke and we ended up being locked up but more importantly the heating / airco wasn’t working properly and the room was cold for the last 3 days of our stay ). We were offered drink vouchers for the inconvenience. Overall we still recommend this location and would consider it again for a next visit to NYC.”

“Excellent location. Yes, you can use this hotel as a base of operations to explore New York City. It is directly across the street from the PATH Train, and you can be in NYC in about 20 minutes. The parking situation is also good, and they charge a small fee which is a fraction of what you would pay in NYC. It is easy to get in and out of the garage. The service here is also excellent, the free breakfast is much better than the average motel, and there are 3 or 4 good restaurants adjacent. The quality of the room is also superior. Clean, comfortable, quiet, with a full kitchen, full sofa and sitting area, big screen TV, wifi and heat/ac worked perfectly. Nice bathroom with walk in shower. They also have good security and I did not notice any crime or chaos in the area. I commuted easily into NYC every day and overall had a great experience.Safety: Felt safe the entire time”

“The hotel is close to Madison Square Garden and is in Hells Kitchen. The room "Koje Pod" is 10 square meters in size with a double bunk bed, shower, toilet. There are enough USB-2 ports for charging electronic devices. The view from the 11th floor is good, but the street noise is not blocked out through the windows. There is no classic breakfast buffet as we are used to in Europe. One tea, one muffin, one fruit salad = $17.45Safety: An in-room safe is available. The hotel room door can be locked from the inside. There are security guards in the lobby.Walkability: MSG can be reached on foot in 15 minutes.”

“"Never meet your heroes", they say. The basis of course is people and things rarely live up to the hype. The Plaza does. Kevin McAllister was right to hold up here over Christmas. The location itself is perfectly situated in both the heart of New York (Central Park) and businesses, big and small, within arm's reach. The building itself could have gone to the way of ancient ruins and lived on the memories of what was and not what is. Instead, the building itself has been immaculately preserved and, in our case, remodeled with a nod to its original glory. What is all this glory without service. There is no slippage there either. We got a sense of the bespoke experience before our trip, dealing with customer service by phone. From that point forward, we have been met with a constant expressions of attention to detail and service. I still don't know what our butler does but should the need ever arise, I know he's a push of a button away. I don't know if I could stay anywhere else in the city ever again.”

“Really a great hotel! Lovely rooms.Excellent service.Top customer care: after a small misunderstanding about the bill, they took steps to reverse the excess items even a few days after departure.”

“Feels like the hotel and rooms have been recently renovated which is nice. Great location, friendly front desk, nice restaurant. A couple things to note: 1) if you have a king next to a suite or a suite, these are setup in a L shape so you can see into the adjacent rooms, 2) walls are very thin, 3) housekeeping isn’t the most on top of things. There are misses even when the front desk explicitly sends the feedback. For example, they left a dirty coffee cleaner with water still in the canister and never cleaned it”
