The owner is great. My truck broke down maybe 500ft from Their shop when I was visiting town. My father called since they are his usual service center. They towed me over, replaced my alternator, washed my car and had me back on the road in 24hrs.

Tom is a wizard. He should get 7 stars at least. Repaired BMW X5 A/C and replaced turn signals on dash with a skillful custom installation that looks better than any factory installation. On time as promosed. Very fair price also. Wow!

Tom is amazing! I can not recommend him enough! I had a TPMS light on my car for months and no one could figure out what was wrong. I was actually told by the dealer to "ingore" the light. Today my son who turned 18 in March who has autism but he’s functional went to get his car air conditioner charged the guy their ego or whatever his name is charged him $139 plus tax just to tell him what he already came in for that air conditioner needs to be charged and sent him on his way when I called him and asked him why do you do that and it’s obvious there’s something wrong he was laughing on the phone like it was a joke. I asked him why would you do that to this young man it’s obviously that there’s something wrong with this some type of autism he laughed and said I asked him did he want me to call his mom or his daddy took his money and didn’t fix the ac for the car.that was a 20 minute conversation he charged them $139 thought it was funny don’t wanna give us our money back he took advantage of a person with autism SHAME On HIM

Tom has been my mechanic for 2 years and my mother's for almost a decade. He is very accommodating, diligent, friendly, honest, and reasonably priced. He's very good at diagnosing car issues and explaining exactly what needs to be done, as well as offering options on how to fix those issues and what they entail. He always tells me what I can just do myself, has never tried to sell me on getting non-essential work done, and all the work is done in a timely manner. I am very lucky to have Tom as my mechanic, and I highly recommend him!Services: Wheel alignment

This guy is a fraud. Please go somewhere else. He charges you 150$ to touch your car and tell you what AutoZone would tell you free of cost. Please Please Please don't waste your time with this guy.He would not install a part that was not OEM - because he only works with OEM parts - because he cannot be bothered to save money for you.Poor attitude - Poor mindset and overall terrible person.He is arrogant has a temper and is focused on taking your money.It would be fine if he was the only mechanic in town - but this is jersey....there are hundreds of great mechanics in town..Please go to a Mavis or many other mechanics in the area on Rt 27 - He is out to get your money - that is his only goal.Services: Auto detailing

Tom Farrell has been my mechanic for over 15 years, and I have been very happy with both the quality of his work, and how I have been treated.Even though he runs a small shop and my requests for service are almost always on short notice (older car), he makes sure to check out my car on a timely basis. He is clear and thorough when stating what needs to be repaired. His price quotes are always in the ballpark of the actual bill. His prices are fair.Tom knows I’m on a budget, and unlike the larger chains, he doesn’t price-gauge or fast-talk me into getting more than what’s necessary. He knows my car inside and out, which would never be the case at a large shop.Thanks to Tom, my car is running well for over 250k miles.If you’re looking for an honest, plain-speaking mechanic who does great work at fair prices, and who will make the time for your car, then Tom Farrell at Electrotech is your guy.

The owner presents himself as if he is honest and explains everything, but it's all a facade. He's a master manipulator. He quotes one price, you agree on the price, but when you see the bill, it's way way more. He always has some excuse or explanation. Recently he totally gaslighted me, denied quoting me the price that we had a very clear conversation about and had agreed upon. He charged double than what my dealer would have charged me! When confronted, he said that I didn't hear him right through the mask. Then he quoted completely different prices than the ones he originally presented. My mistake for going back to him, since this isn't the first time he did this to me. Last time, his excuse was, "Oh I'm so sorry, I quoted you the wrong price, I made a mistake." Also he wanted cash, or it would cost me more money.This shop is on route 1 and the traffic is so loud that he can't even hear the car properly. I had major noise problems, and he didn't even take my car for a test drive. After I had spent over a 1000 with him, a new noise appeared, and I drove the car back to him. He had the car for 3 days and didn't even bother to work on it. Told me that he didn't hear anything. But charged me another $300 to replace a belt that didn't need replacing.My mistake for going back to him. Also my mistake for not insisting on an official printed estimate. The bottom line, is that although Tom is very capable as a mechanic, he will rob you blind, and then make you feel bad about it.

You would think they would handle all problems concerning Electrical in automobiles but NOPE !!! They only do stereo system, aftermarket lights and others etc. I was really disappointed

I highly recommend this business. I have worked with Tom several times now and have found him to be fair and honest. He is knowledgeable about what needs to be done and will not do any work until he has diagnosed and discussed with you. No hidden costs.
