Would not recommend for anyone to trust these people with anything. They quote you for one price and when it's time to pay they charge you a different price. Also have bad customer service, very unprofessional managers. I could of when with a different moving and would of had movers for the price they charge me. If I would of known of there hidden fees I would of never went with this moving company.

I will not recommend for ANYONE. They miss leed you with prices. I was told one price and when it was time to pay they added almost 350.00 on top of the 2,800 that I was originally quoted for. The manager Melony was use less. Didn't help for nothing. Also had an attitude. For the amount Im been charge now if 3,100 I could of gotten movers and a shipping container from another company.

My experience with 1800PACKRAT was nothing short of a nightmare. It was a classic bait-and-switch, with empty promises and a complete lack of accountability.
I placed an order for a container that was supposed to be delivered on a Monday. I took a day off work and waited at the property all day, only to find out at 4 PM, after an hour of waiting for a callback and then another 30-minute hold (rendering the callback pointless), that the delivery was rescheduled for the next day. No notifications, no warnings, absolutely nothing to let me know in advance!
So, I had to take yet another day off work and wait the entire day on Tuesday. Once again, at 4 PM, after a maddeningly long wait on hold, I was reassured that the delivery was on its way. However, after 5 PM, I received a text from the driver with an ETA of 6-7 PM. When 7:30 PM rolled around with no sign of the container, I tried calling and texting the driver, only to be met with silence.
Calling customer service yet again, I was once more assured that the delivery would happen. I was horrified to be told that deliveries could go as late as 10 PM! What reputable company thinks it's acceptable to cause such a disturbance on a residential street at 10 PM on a Tuesday? After calling back at 9:30 PM, I was finally told they couldn’t get a hold of anyone at the facility and had no idea when the container would actually be delivered.
This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with any company. There was no accountability, no respect for my time, and clearly, no concern for customer satisfaction. It’s no wonder they don’t allow reviews on Facebook or comments on their social media posts—probably because they know they'd be flooded with negative feedback.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY unless you absolutely don’t care when or if they ever show up. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and a complete waste of your time. Save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually values its customers.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Online it shows your container is coming that day and by 8pm it will say rescheduled. They rescheduled 3 times before I decided to cancel. I called prior to canceling and they were not helpful at all basically said it will come when it comes. I asked if it takes this long to deliver will you even be able to pick up on time? They said they couldn’t promise pickup dates either. I can’t have this container in the driveway with the new home owners since I’m moving. Horrible!!!!!!

Do not use this company! False promises, horrible service! Received text messages and verbal that delivery was set, then 3 days in a row delivery keeps getting pushed! Don’t waste your time calling them, reps and managers can’t help you! You will be on hold for hours!

If you want your container to be delivered on time, go with any other service (PODs, U-Pack, etc.). Pack-Rat gave me the most competitive quote, and the reviews looked ok, but don't be fooled. I've called repeatedly to confirm that they are, in fact, coming to pick up the container, as agreed upon and as shown in my online portal. They promise on the phone a pickup of your container but cannot provide any point of contact for your driver and then ghost you when you try to follow up on the promise. It's two days past my original pick up, and I still have not had a pick up of my items. I regret going with this service.

I’m so bummed to be writing such a terrible review for a branch of 1800PACKRAT because I had the best experience with the call center when I booked and a perfectly wonderful and flawless experience with the Lakeside, CA location. I have no idea what’s going on with this Dayton, NJ location but the manager, Jamie, clearly isn’t doing a great job over there. I booked and confirmed drop off and same day pick up for 7/19 and booked my movers while on the phone with the 1800PACKRAT representative with the timing she recommended. Everything was confirmed and still shows as AM drop off on 7/19 and PM pick up on 7/19 in my account even today. You’re supposed to receive a call from the facility manager the day before drop off to confirm timing, which way you want the container door facing, and to make sure there’s enough clearance for the container drop off. That never happened so 8am on 7/19 I called and was told they couldn’t deliver my container until the next day which meant I had to cancel my movers 5 hours before they were supposed to come and got penalized the entire cost for canceling. The PACKRAT representative said they wouldn’t reimburse me for the cost of the move and would only credit me $100 for it and refund the extra $100 I paid for booking specific drop off and pick up times. I was so stressed out trying to find another day a same day drop off and pick up service could be booked and had to book new movers again so I was out $250 since all they credited was $100 for a $350 cancellation cost for the movers. I finally confirmed that 7/22 was available for same day drop off and pick up so I booked it immediately and booked my new movers which was another $350 so I paid a total of $600 for a $350 cost for movers. The PACKRAT Call center reps tried calling multiple times throughout this past Friday and Saturday and no one answered or called them back. It took the 8th call center supervisor sending another follow up email on Saturday CCing the District Manager to finally get a response from the Dayton facility who only confirmed via email the drop off and pick up would be possible on 7/22. They told me the facility manager would call me to confirm timing and which way the container door should be facing in the evening for my Monday 7/22 drop off. I waited and waited but of course, never received a call from the Dayton facility manager, Jamie, let alone anyone else from the facility at all on Saturday 7/20. Come 6.30am today, I received a call from Shawn, the truck driver, who is Dayton’s only saving grace. The way the container was loaded on the truck was the wrong way but he was so kind and assured me that we could figure it out when got to my drop off location. He came and was so compassionate and helpful and assured me he would do everything he could to make sure the container was picked up later in the afternoon since it wasn’t allowed to stay overnight. We were in communication with each other throughout the day and he really made it happen so I wouldn’t be fined and penalized even further to be out even more money for what should’ve been a simple and easy move. I would NEVER recommend using or booking anything with the 1800PACKRAT Dayton, NJ facility EVER. They’re lucky they have such amazing drivers there but there’s a reason why this facility has only a 3.6 rating while Lakeside, CA has 4 starts and consistently positive reviews. If corporate or the district manager sees this review, I highly recommend you audit this location and figure out why there are so many issues with scheduling and delivering on those schedules. This was the worst moving experience I’ve ever had and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone else.
