The South Amboy branch is tremendous. I have been banking there for years on a personal level and recently used them for my small business. They were so helpful and made the process so easy. Everyone in the office is friendly and very efficient. It says a lot when they have developed a big level of trust. I am very loyal to Provident and the main reason is this office, it's what a bank should be, comfortable, helpful and great service. And I am referring to everyone in that office , I've never experienced person there who did not do a great job. Besides that, even my 2 dogs look forward to going to the drive up because they get a treat:)

4 stars because...Spoke on the phone the other day to Dawn at this location. Since moving to the area recently and being a customer of Provident Bank already, found that it was easier this way to open my bank account. Today, all that was needed was my drivers license by Maria this morning. After a few clicks on her computer lasting about 15 or so minutes I was good to go. All it took was my electronic signature and out the door.As mentioned before they have a pretty friendly staff. As the tellers said when leaving, thanks to staying with us after all these years.This is a pretty small branch building. That has one ATM lane and two drive through lanes on the side. Easy and painless banking.

They are not professional at all.They closed doors on saturday at 12.35 pm stating that they were told to do so when the normal closing time is 1 pm.They didn't bother sending out email or putting up a sign informing people.Neither did they have decency to update their early closure on website.A complete failure on their end.One of their employee sent me to a check cashing place somewhere in oldbridge just to get rid of me when i clearly told her i dont need to cash check.
