You might walk in on this shop watching YouTube trying to figure out how to repair a modern car as I did. These guys will break more than they fix and not inform you of it after you go back 3 times for the same issue. Stay away at all costs! They also have ripped off an elderly relative of mine who they have come back time after time for minor but unfixed issues. This place is shady tree mechanics by numbers.Service: General repairs & maintenance

When I need my vehicles serviced I bring it to Frank Automotive Service. I really appreciate and value the honest pricing and excellent work which are his trademarks. Since he was recommended to me I don't ,better yet won't bring my vehicles to anyone else. If you care about your vehicles wellbeing I strongly recommend you bring them to him, you won't regret it. I can tell you I'm not an easy person to please ,I haven't been letdown yet.

We've been going to Frank's for over 23 years! Recently, my daughter took her car back to a place which sold her tires. She had a flat and wanted them to honor the warranty. The other place told her she needed new brakes and an oil change. So she took her car to Frank and asked him to check. Frank might be the last honest mechanic in the world! He told her the car needed neither. We will always trust Frank.

This business is not closed. As of March 2020. He just moved to another location. 411 Oak Street South Amboy NJ My family has been taking our vehicles to Frank for over 20 years. One of the most honest down to earth and friendly businesses I have ever been to. He will never over charge for work, has never asked for a dime to air my tires and check the brakes on our car. He had been a one man show for quite some time and because of this reason he doesn't take on as much work during the week anymore. But rest assured when he works on your car it's gets done right and is very affordable compared to most rip off places around. As for the one review tony who claims he had a bad experience, I fun it funny how you describe how this went down. Sounds more like a revengeful bad apples taste in your mouth. My entire family has been going to Franks forever and not one time did he ever treat us wrong. He is first class all around and always has been.

Great mechanics. Easy to get to. I recommend to all friends & family to go there for repairs. The mechanics know what they're doing. This is my first choice. No-one else!

Frank might be the only competent honest mechanic in all of New Jersey that doesn't just fix things by replacing every single component in the chain (broke or not) until it eventually gets fixed (charging you for the parts and labor of each component along the way)...Which is how most current mechanics work. He's old school, and take pride in his work by actually diagnosing and fixing the actual problem.
