The gas attendants are all at war with each other over who gets the busier/higher traffic pumps. Typically I ignore it but this morning put me over the top. An employee put out of order bags over most of the pumps on the northbound side. When I pulled behind someone at an uncovered pump, the employee looked at me annoyingly as if I had done something wrong and instructed me to go around to a pump on the south side. The northbound side is busier in the morning due to people traveling into NY for work. How about instead of being anti-logic you get your ish together and have more than one guy working the busier pumps? Zero critical thinking skills. Two thumbs way down.

I would highly suggest this rest stop on your parkway travels. Their is a great selection of food and beverages and snacks to go. You can fill your vehicle too and their is plenty of parking. There is also a park and ride if you desire. This is a very safe and secure location and easy to reach from the parkway local and express.

Half of the bathrooms and sinks were blocked off during Thanksgiving weekend. NO chance for social distancing. Ugh! Skip it. Wish we had!!

This GSP rest stop used to be horrendous; now it's serviceable. The Starbucks is actually decent, clean, and the line moves quickly. The general goods store is well supplied with just about anything you may have left at home and now need. Parking isn't awful (be careful of clueless out-of-staters), and the restrooms are mostly clean. The bar for rest stops is low, and they exceed that here.

Here's the "take away" for this place. CHOOSE WISELY. There is no dollar menu at any of these places, and we walked away from Burger King $23 dollars lighter for just a 2 chicken sandwiches and 1 fry and soda. If you can share...share. Otherwise, this place basically has NYC prices and is VERY CROWDED. We waited about 15 mins just to pay and their credit card machine was down. The line for Starbucks must have been at least a 30 min. wait. Otherwise, it's a rest stop.

They just want your money. The restraurants are slow and overpriced. When asked why, the response is you're next to the parkway, what d you expect? At least you don't have to pay use the restroom which is marginally clean.

This review is only in regards to my interactions with Colin who works at the Auntie Annie's and Nathan's. I was at the Auntie Annie's pretzel shop a while because I couldn't decide if I wanted a pretzel or the pretzel bites. The young lady making the pretzels kept asking me if she could help and I kept telling her I was debating. After a few times she seemed to be annoyed. I have no idea why because as people came she helped them so its not as though I was in the way or preventing others from ordering. When all was clear and no one was waiting to be assisted I asked the young lady making the pretzels if one pretzel was equivalent to a small cup of pretzel bites and if two pretzels were equivalent to a large cup of pretzel bites. She kept telling me the prices and I explained to her that I'm not asking about the prices I'm asking about the amount of pretzels I'm receiving. She kept quoting me the price so I asked her did she understand my question but it was clear she didn't understand. That wasn't the annoying part the annoying part was that she had the nerve to be annoyed because she didn't understand my question. She seemed fine in the beginning but later became annoyed. Her customer service skills were the worse. She should work in the back and not with customers. Colin on the other hand came over and I asked him the same questions I asked the rude young lady. He didn't understand at first but then he understood once I explained it again. He was very patient, courteous, respectful, kind and generous.. his customer service skills far exceeded what I expected. I tried to give him a tip to which he informed me that he couldn't take. I asked for a manager so I could explain what an excellent host and experience I had with him but he informed me that they were in a meeting. He is the epitome of what people should deal with when needing a service. I can not speak enough about how pleasant he was. He almost made me forget about the rudeness I experienced from the rude and unprofessional and inpatient young lady. Kudos to Colin and his professionalism, his patience, his kindness, his generosity and his all around good nature.

Can a rest stop really be 4 stars? Absolutely. The Alexander Hamilton rest stop is a disgusting mess. The cheesequake travel plaza however, doesn't make you feel dirty as you enter. You actually feel relaxed! Stores and shops all around and a huge travel mart with just about anything you could need for your trip. Sbarro, Starbucks, Burger King and I want to say natahans and auntie Annie's. Clean bathrooms, retail stands with everything from sunglasses to perfume to stuffed animals. Great stop for your travel needs.

As far as roadside service areas go, Cheesequake offers a safe and comfortable way to relax, get gas, use the restroom, or get something to eat. Stop here for any of the above because there are a couple of the normal rest areas further south that are either closed or under construction. Well lit parking areas and clean restrooms make this a perfect place to make a pit-stop. And if you are not a fan of Starbuck's, Burger King has excellent coffee to fill your road needs. Other options for snacks and food exist so you can for sure find some good options here.

Meh. Fairly average and typical roadside plaza experience. Mediocre food options. Crazy long line at Starbucks. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. Easy in/out from the highway and gas was reasonable on price.
