I really like to walk around these gardens and the property surrounding the gardens. Wonderful mature trees provide shade in the summer and beautiful color in the fall. You can also walk on the nearby canal path. Plenty of parking, benches and restrooms are available. I love the rose garden but note that this is open only during certain hours. Check their website before visiting. I really do not like the new fountain but I posted a picture of it anyway.

Surprised this place has such few reviews! This is a gem of a place with walking trails and a flower garden! It is free to come to and very scenic. An amazing place to take photos and learn about flowers.Be sure to check out the trails!

Beautiful place to spend time! Go now; everything is blooming:). There are plenty of places to sit on a bench, lie on the grass, enjoy a shady gazebo, try to figure out your favorite rose (and whether scent or appearance is more important!). It’s right on the D&R bike path also; bike if you can, because parking (at least on the rose garden side) gets scarce at times.

These are some of the nicest gardens in the "Garden State." The rose garden and perennial gardens must be seen by anyone who loves public gardens.
