I was a frequent shopper at this store until today when they refused to exchange the shorts I bought a couple of days ago, with tags still on, for a bigger size because I didn't have a receipt. My frustration with this store is not just about the refusal, but more about how the store managers handled the situation.
I interacted with two store managers: a younger one (who has some complaints about her on here as well) and an older lady who was borderline nasty and extremely ill-mannered. There is a way to handle these situations professionally, and the best approach is to show some effort. If there's really no solution, simply apologize and say something like, "My system won't even let us do that. I really wish we could help. I completely understand your frustration."
Instead, the older lady gave me a long lecture about what is fair and not fair in a rude, commanding tone. Every time I tried to speak, she would yell at me to not talk over her. When it finally came to my turn to talk, she would interrupt and talk over me. When I asked her to listen to me, she hung up.
The worst part is that, according to reviews on here, this store is notorious for being unprofessional, ill-mannered, and incompetent, yet they continue to get away with it. The older lady seems to have ego issues, trying to show customers she is in charge and that looks very sad, I even started feeling bad for her.

My favorite Anthro in Jersey. The team there is Aces!! i live near other Anthros but will drive to Shrewsbury because the location is cute and because of the team. They are so helpful in solving issues with returns/ exchanges and finding items you are searching for. Avery, for example, is one of their amazing and helpful sales associate. She exemplifies their excellent customer service.

If I could give it zero stars I would. The store has nice merchandise, but the staff is horrendous except for somebody by the dressing room that was very sweet. I’m not sure if she’s the manager. I’ll attach a photo, but she is the most rude condescending nasty person I’ve ever experienced in retail, she doesn’t clearly want to work or do anything this is the second time I’ve asked for a different size and she asked me why? Can you imagine? Last time she told me they didn’t have the jeans I went over and found them myself this time she told me , they’re closing in 15 minutes. That was her response to me asking for one size larger. Completely done with this store won’t have anything to do with the shop that hires employees who clearly either hate themselves or hate their job or both. Goodbye anthropology

If I could leave zero stars I would. I recently went here on Father's Day weekend while the store was supposed open, because there was a 40% off sale and both days the sale room was "closed" because staff was rearranging things. Needless to say I left because I didn't feel like waiting half hour- 45 minutes for it to be "open". This used to be a great store- but this year (2024) it has been horrible so far.

Lovely lady at the dressing room called Laura truly elevated my shopping experience. She was so helpful, asked all the right questions and had great taste! Additionally, loved her fit for the day! She’s truly a wonderful brand ambassador for the brand!

On Sunday 10/22/23 at 11 am my best friend was treated so poorly about an exchange/return she had all receipts. She was within time frame and she has an anthropology credit card. Merch was not worn it was a return which should have ended as a huge sale. The worst

I normally don’t write a review, but in this case I needed to because I had the best service today by a girl name Britt .. she is a stylist and works in the dressing room area! She was amazing!!! she was on point with everything and very honest!! I absolutely had the best experience!! THANK YOU BRITT!!?

Lifelong Anthropologie customer. Shop here very often. The location is great, the inventory is great. The management and customer service, aside from the lovely women in the dressing rooms, are severely lacking. The “manager” of the store couldn’t have been more abrasive and condescending if she tried. Definitely thinking twice about shopping here again. I even went up to her after to try to smooth over a misunderstanding on her associates part, and she doubled down on her attitude and approach. Beyond disappointing.

Normally enjoy this store and brand. Unfortunately I witnessed extremely poor customer service from both the woman and the checkout counter as well as the manager. The woman making an obvious return had some sort of issue which I’m not sure of. However , the reaction and how the staff and manager handled it and spoke to her was completely unprofessional and honestly extremely rude. Will not be visiting this location again. Shame .
