DO NOT DO BUSINESS AT MINMAR MARINA!!
I paid dearly for indoor storage to keep my boat clean and safe. It was there for 2 weeks when I went in to use it for the first time. When I got there they put the boat in the water and it was absolutely trashed. There was rust everywhere and there was about 10 inches of water in the deck. They had put it on a lower level rack under a hole in the roof which leaked horribly. The rain water ran down the rusty roof then across the rusty racks above my boat and then all over my entire boat. My white boat was now orange with rust. I asked for the supervisor/ manager named Michelle who wasn’t available to look at the boat and I was limited on time so I left with the intentions of showing her the condition it was in once I returned. I was so mad at how the boat was stored that I decided not to take it back to the dump. I walked into the marina a day later and spoke to the manager Michelle and expressed my frustration and concerns. She immediately acknowledged they had leaks in the roof but thought it had been repaired. I didn’t want to be subject to further damages to my boat so I inquired about taking it from there and requesting a refund since I had paid nearly $3000 for the whole season. She assured me money would be refunded without any issue or concern. She promised a check would be sent to me within a couple days. I waited 2 weeks and tried calling her several times. Each time when I was asked who was calling I’d provide my name, be placed on hold for several minutes to either be hung up on or told she would have to call me back. This happened daily for 6 days in a row. I then called from a different number and was easily able to get thru to her by using a different name. She told me at that time on a Wednesday that she had a check payable to me for the full amount owed sitting on her desk waiting to be signed by the owner who comes in on Fridays and the check would be mailed out immediately after it was to be signed. I allowed 2 weeks to pass by and started calling again to see where my refund was. I experienced the same issues and avoidance as before. After 5 days of continuous calls I was able to get thru to Michelle. She now says the company does not give refunds and I was out of luck. She then denied ever saying that she’d refund me and denied saying she had a check waiting to be signed. She blatantly lied to me multiple times. She was rude and refused to provide any assistance. I asked for the owners name or someone I could talk to which she refused to give me. I drove an hour to the marina the next day to talk to her directly and I was told she was off that day and was asked if they could help. When I explained to a young man at the counter why I wanted to see her he responded with “I’m not surprised”
I since have called repeatedly and again can not get thru to anyone to help me.
This is horrible. I had to pay $1900 to have my boat detailed and have the rust stains removed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT there. It is a dump and they will rob you. I have since told several people about my experience there and was told they had heard others complain about the horrible treatment and services they provided. I heard even worse regarding the mechanical services they provide. If anyone can give me the owners name I’d love to have it.

I would like to Thank the team over at Minmar Marine for their excellent customer service and repairing my boat in a timely matter even during the busy spring season. Throughout the Repair process i was kept up to date on the status of my repair which was much appreciated.

We rented the 20 foot scout over the summer of 2023. The weather was terrible with a small craft advisory in place for excessive wind the day we were scheduled, but Minmar insisted that they were still going to send us out and did not offer a refund or rescheduling. Staff was a half hour late for check in, cutting into our reservation time. Desk staff were rather rude and unhelpful, and unapologetic about their lateness. We had no direction to the dock from the office, which is through an operational boat yard with forklifts and other equipment on the move. There was no assistance loading into the boat, no operating instructions, no safety explanations, only a point to the boat from the landing by a dockyard worker telling us which boat was ours after we flagged someone down. They did not even question our boating experience, leading me to think anyone with a valid credit card could have free reign with a powerful and dangerous craft, which was especially concerning in the high wind and breaking waves in the bay that day. Amenities on the boat were showing age or were otherwise broken completely, such as the radio only producing static. The rear of the boat was taking on water and constantly emptying on the bilge pump. As the weather deteriorated, we had to call our trip short for safety concerns and upon arrival at the dock, had no assistance landing. We had to dock the craft in a sideways 25+ mph wind with no one on dock to toss ropes to or assist with landing. We tied ourselves off to the dock after some difficult maneuvering, unloaded our gear, and never had a single worker stop by to check on us. I had to stop into the office to let them know we had returned the boat and asked if they wanted to inspect things after our return. They did not seem to care about their boat and told us we didn’t need to do anything else and could just go. The entire operation has the feel of the kids are running the house and no one of any responsibilities is watching over it. I Would not rent from them again.

Minnar did right by me. My boat wasn't running, but they towed it to their place and got it onto my trailer for me. They were very reasonable and took into account the limited time I had available. Very pleased.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.I never leave reviews, especially negative ones. However, I don't want anyone else to have the same experience we did.We rented the 20' Scout Dual Console (red). Minmar is NOT properly maintaining this boat. I am a boat owner and have been for many years.If I could leave zero stars I would. Our boat wasn't ready when we arrived, eating into our rental time. If you are a novice boater, be aware - they provide zero instruction on the boat's use.As mentioned before, little to no maintenance has been done on this boat. As mentioned in several other reviews (some reviews are more than a year old at this point) the depth finder did not work. The cup holder was broken/missing and clearly had been for a while. Upholstery was ripped. The bow was filling with water in the anchor compartment.About an hour into the rental, the engine alarm went off. It wouldn't even run at 1/4 speed. It would rev up and then slow down, rev up and slow down. Over and over again. We were forced to drive at the slowest speed in order to prevent the revving of the engine. If it continued to rev, it eventually overheated and shut down. It took us 3+ hours to get back to the marina.Minmar provided a partial refund. I requested a full refund and got a bunch of attitude when I did. I provided video of the issue with the engine as well as photos of the issues mentioned above. Repeated phone calls and emails went unanswered for 2+ weeks. When Michelle finally did respond, she claimed that their technician tested the boat and it had no issues. I am disputing the charges on my credit card.Rent a boat elsewhere!

The Service Staff at Minmar is awful. They are unresponsive and NEVER return your phones calls in a timely manner. Customer Service is not their speciality and it is apparent. I will definitely be taking our boat to another Marina this Summer season.

Abhorrent service.We reserved for a 8am to 12pm rental and arrived 15 mins early according to instructions, and the staff did not show up for work until 8:10am.When the shop finally opened, the lady was rude and unmotivated to get started. After filling out the paper work, she asked us to wait outside by one of the docks, and no one showed up. We called after 10 mins of waiting, and the same lady walked out and just pointed us to an old, dirty, and rusty boat. We got on the boat and received no instructions to operate.

Their address is wrong on their website. They are not Sea Isle. They are Ocean View. They have a p.o.box, so dont have anything sent to their non-existent street address.

They are horrible! I have been there a few times because they are so close but never again. Their mechanics are bad and their service staff is dishonest and unresponsive. Last time I was there they were actually hiding from me. Many of my friends have had similar experiences. Don't use them.

My friends and I rented a boat and faced multiple issues:- The pre-boating instructions were very brief and did not properly explain everything we needed to know.- The depth meter was not reading correctly. My friend was driving the boat when the meter said 12.2ft when it was actually less than 3ft. This resulted in us getting stuck.- During our pre-boating instructions, we were told to call the office if we get stuck, and they would come to help. When we called for help, no one at the office picked up. In total, we called over 20 times without an answer. We later saw that they were having a customer appreciation party outside, so no one was at the phone.- When they finally did come to help us, one of the people helping us was high and vaping.- When we reached the office again, my friend very nicely explained how the depth meter was broken and how our calls were not answered. The woman spoke to us in an extremely rude tone saying:-- “In the after noon, we aren’t really in the office, we just generally monitor the phones” (in response to them not picking up our over 20 calls).-- “Why are you renting a boat if you don’t know how to drive one.”-- “The meter wasn’t broken before you left.”-- “What would you like me to do? Because you’re not getting a refund” (we hadn’t asked for a refund).After realizing that she didn’t care at all about what we were trying to tell her, my friends and I just walked away. This experience ruined my week.

STAY AWAY!!Very careless operation, damaged both lower units on twin engine CC and took no responsibility..Accidents happen and equip operators aren’t always forthright about damage but without any cameras this yard needs to review and inspect any obvious damage.If this place is your last resort for repairs or storage be sure to hire a surveyor to go over your boat carefully after complete.Been a boater for 25 years with many boats in various yards. Never dealt with a marine business this unethical or dishonest.
