Upon check in, I was greeted by the nicest man, who was funny and super friendly. He quickly gave me instructions about breakfast and with a smile, had me on my way to my room. The room was very clean, on the small side but it was just me so it was fine. It had a king bed, a small table and 2 chairs, a closet area w luggage rack, a fridge, tv, bedside tables, etc. The bathroom was cute, very 60s/70s looking but nice. I noticed it was very warm in the room. The thermostat said 82. I decided to turn the heat off completely as I was going into town and like to sleep cold. Upon return to the room some 4 hours later, the room was still 82 degrees and way too warm. I felt the radiators and they were still churning out the heat. I tried turning on the AC to cool the place down but it wasn't working. The radiators kept heating. So I went to the office and was met by a man who was on his personal phone. He spoke very little English and at first didn't understand the issue. He thought I was saying it was too cold. He tried to get me to give up and leave. When I wouldn't, he started loudly arguing with me. I told him I couldn't sleep in a room that warm, and then he told me it was "out of his hands." Really? There are 4 cars in this parking lot. I think it's wholly within your hands. When I wouldn't acquiesce and let him return to his phone call, he grudgingly came to the room for a look. He saw that I had it set to cool but the heat was still on. He then grudgingly went to the office and got a new key to the room right next door and let me in there. The temperature was fine. It took a bit for the heat to get going but I was totally fine with that. After that things were fine. I would stay here again but I would hope to be able to encounter the first kind man, not the other.

I stayed here for a night while passing through the Jersey Shore area. This was such a cute little motel! The room was super clean. The AC was great. No noisy unit like most hotels but nice ceiling vents. The place has a nice swimming pool and is close to the beach. It was sparkling clean (not sure about some old negative reviews, but they were from years ago). The guy who checked me in was super friendly. He saw a bike on the back of my car and gave me directions to a great bike path nearby. He was super helpful too when I left a pair of glasses behind. I would definetely stay at this gem again!

Great little lodge. Rooms are very clean. The pool is crystal clear. The only drawback is the small bathroom. It has a shower stall, and the water pressure is good. Mere minutes to the beach.

This is a cute, clean, quiet, and quant hidden gem. Sea Grit Lodge has a very low key but homey kinda vibe. The prices are reasonable and it's location is ideal, close but not right on top of everything..

Stayed over Thanksgiving week. Great location, reasonable rate, very quiet. Room was clean, comfy and reasonably appointed (single hid-a-bed, table, two chairs, fridge) Staff was friendly. Bed was awesome. Parking is convenient, but can get cramped inside the "U-shaped" lot. Good stay, will be back. Excellent off-season choice.

My boyfriend and I stayed overnight. We couldn't believe the cleanliness and I've been a housekeeper for 21 years. The bed was clean and comfortable. Well definitely go back. Towels were clean, I have nothing bad to say about this motel.

We have stayed at this location many times over the years, mainly because we live nearby, but the last two visits did not go well. The previous visit was i9n the heat of the summer, we stayed for 2 days, the A?C broke in several of the rooms and we were offered a window unit and then a fan. At a price per night of $300.00 this was not acceptable. On our most recent visit, at a much lower price because of the off season, we had several issues. The bathroom blind was up and dirty nor was it in any good working condition, the sink stopper would not let the water down, the glass shelf over the toilet was hanging out of the wall. The first night the shower was gurgling, the toilet kept running, the next morning everything was plugged up, no water was going down any drain. Called the office, we left and it was better that evening. I am sure we will not be staying there anymore, it is not what it used to be, a nice place to rest your head, Thank You for listening. Joe D

Never had a chance to stay. Unfortunately trip was cancelled so I had to can the reservation --which wasn't even 24 hours old ( and 3 weeks away) and they are charging me a $25 "Handling" fee. No idea what they are 'Handling" Shame on them & shame on me for not reading the fine print

This is a great hotel to stay in for a quick beach weekend with your family. My husband and I stayed with my 2 year old and we had a great experience. The room was very clean. You could tell as soon as you walked in. You can’t beat the prices here either. This place has the best deals. Mr Patel, the manager, was so kind a friendly. We called Saturday afternoon and he accommodated us right away. The next morning, he was outside cleaning the pool and gave us a big smile on our way out. Whenever we decide to have spontaneous stays down the shore, this will be our go-to spot!

Super clean room, friendly staff. It’s an older property so keep that in mind. Short drive to the beach.

The staff were so nice and accommodating. They bent over backwards to make us happy. The room was very clean and it had everything we needed. The lodge is also in a great location, close to many restaurants and shopping areas, not to mention it's only a few minutes drive to beautiful beaches. We highly recommend Sea Girt Lodge.

Staff is totally ignorant and unrespectable of guest! Changed price and wanted us to pay more for second nights stay!!!! Then he tried to blame us for not charging the credit card for two nights when we checked in! WATCH YOURSELF THIS GUY IS SHADY!!!!

The exterior and pool were in great shape. The rooms needed work. They were clean and functional for the most part, but needed repairs and improvements. There was complimentary coffee and juice available in the lobby, however the coffee was like mud and the juice was stale (weird color and taste). As a side note, the flagpole out front was empty with no American flag flying.
