Great customer service! As soon as I walked in, Norman and the older lady greeted me warmly and were very attentive throughout my entire visit. They made sure to listen carefully to all of my concerns and needs and provided me with all the necessary information to make informed decisions. I truly appreciated their efforts to ensure that I left with the assurance I needed. I will definitely be returning to this location for any future needs.

Poor customer service. No one greets you. When you speak, they pretend not to hear you. Norman and the older lady who worked today went out of their way to be unpleasant. No one asked if I needed assurance. Won't return to this location.

It's a small quick stop store, no they're not going to have everything! But theres always a friendly conversation and good energy no matter who's working! Will return!!

Went to the Sayreville family dollar location today at 8:55 pm. However the manager had already locked the doors and refused to let me enter the building even though it was 5 minutes before closing time.The store hours posted on the window says that the location is open till 10pm. I shop at this location daily and I feel disrespected as a loyal customer. I have on numerous occasions heard the manager state he closes early. I would suggest that upper management please review the footage of the manager on duty at the closing time. Thank you for your cooperation.

The management of this place needs to keep up with inventory quickly. I went three times to retrieve items because they have the wrong price on the shelves. I was making sure to match items with bar codes but, as soon as I went to register prices were more expensive. I can't shop in this family dollar because I waste too much time trying to guess prices. As an example of this product as soon as I arrived at the register the price was 67 cents more. I asked the cashier why the discrepancy was and he got upset at me. I live on a budget and only buy what I need. Why does he have to tell me what I should do with my money? It was either gas in my car or the vegetables.

(Updated: 9/28/20) The employees are still nice, friendly and helpful. I don't shop there as often as I use to. Once, maybe 2x a month. I don't know if it's under new management but I haven't seen the loud lady with the truckers vocabulary. Unfortunately though the shelves are very poorly stocked. Huge gaps of space. Not much of a selection. Not very organized. Maybe it's because of the whole covid-19 mess. I'll probably update again when this cluster-f**k is finally over and everything is back to "normal".... Kinda glad they didn't see my application now. I'm a protectionist & I'd go mad working there.

The new manager is just as rude as the other lady. I asked for a hair product and she said we don’t sell African American hair products. She needs to be fired. Where are thy finding these loud mouthed managers???
