We went for an engagement party and were blown away. Food was delicious. Every bite.Service went above and beyond. I mentioned once I was gluten free and the waiter brought me a special gluten free side and my own dessert. I couldn’t believe it!Probably the best meal I’ve had in a long long time. If they can pull off a large event so well I can only imagine how fab their regular dinner service is!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pros!

The Saddle River Inn exceeded my high expectations. We had the east coast oyster special, foie gras, scallop crudo, a truffle agnolotti special, and steaks. Our server, Matt, was really helpful in helping us put together an order. He recommended the preparation I wanted from a different entree on the yummier cut of a wagyu skirt steak. I was dancing in my seat in delight ?

The experience we had on Saturday night was magical. The charming decor and beautiful view set the backdrop to what would become an unforgettable culinary experience. From the scallop and crab cake starters to the oysters and finally dover sole and wagyu ribeye with wild mushrooms, the chef took us on a journey of the senses that we will not soon forget. Really enjoyable meal. Service and food were both excellent. Felt a little rushed, but we did have a 815pm reservation and I did not realize that the restaurant closed at 11pm. Appetizers were all good - scallop crudo in particular was excellent. Entrees of center cut filet Mignon and 20oz bone in Sirloin were both great. Decent selection of desserts, but nothing noteworthy. Overall we had a great meal, and we will be back.

We've driven by this place a thousand times but never tried it until last night. What a treat! Everything from the greeting to dessert was top-notch. Outstanding food and service. A great night to celebrate our Anniversary! We will definitely return! If you forget that they are BYOB...don't worry, Door Dash will bring you wine in a pinch! (Speaking from experience)

The Saddle River Inn is one of the best romantic restaurants in the region. The cuisine is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The service is beyond compare. All the staff made our dining experience wonderful and very memorable. We will continue to return to the Inn soon and often. Thank you Matt, Anthony and all the staff for a fantastic evening.

We dine here about once a month and this restaurant never disappoints. We visted again on 2/22. The twin lobster tails on the specials menu were extraordinary and the veal parm was tender and delicious. Strawberry cheesecake topped off a great meal. Quite and comfortable atmosphere with a great wait staff. Service is always top notch.

I am so surprised by the high ratings for this restaurant. We were very disappointed. Making a reservation at this restaurant is unnecessarily difficult. No one picks up the phone majority of the time but even when they do, they are not accommodating at all. Nearly impossible to get a reservation online using OpenTable but no reservation beyond 30 days. When we finally get there, half the restaurant was empty...not sure why it was so difficult to get a reservation. Food and service was unexpectedly subpar. I will say majority of the staff looked pleasant except our waiter, who was just very unpleasant. We were very close to asking if it was possible to get another waiter. Then the food...overall subpar and I have to point out that it was probably the worst lamb chop and foie gras we have ever had. Such a shame because we were so looking forward to a wonderful experience...esp. since it took so long to get a reservation!

The Saddle River Inn has been a favorite for a number of years. The menu is amazing and the dishes are prepared and plated in the most delicious and visually appealing manner. Last night I had the Dover sole, which was prepared with a lemon parsley vinaigrette. It was so light, yet distinctive in flavor, I ate the entire portion (and the yummy potatoes too). The lobster toast is a must for me!!! Our server, Leo, was both delightful and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing and jovial overall. This restaurant is worth every penny!

The atmosphere and service (Leo!) were perfect. And our appetizers and entries were very good - Michelin-star worthy. However, the deserts are a little light - the ice cream and sorbet were good, but only as good as most high-end ice creams are. The scoop of cheesecake filling surrounded by graham cracker crumbs was anti-climatic, and had one lonely strawberry. My main beef is getting a table. We need to dine on Saturday or Sunday, and it's impossible to get a reservation for two on Saturday night. I called to complain, and ask for help, and was told to wait until midnight on Wednesday and I should be able to get something. The 3rd week of waiting until midnight on Wednesday, I got this reservation. We had a gift card - I didn't care which Saturday I dined - and the reservation policy really subtracts from the experience. I should not have to stay up late on a work night to compete with bots to get a restaurant reservation. Twice I was shut out by 12:05am. This is not a concert, and it's not an inexpensive restaurant. I wish they could figure out a better way to serve more people. They used to be open on Sunday, which was a lot easier to get in and we dined here more frequently.

Absolutely outstanding dining experience at Saddle River Inn! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The lobster special, both as an appetizer and main course, was simply divine – fresh, succulent, and cooked to perfection. The spicy hamachi, oysters, and white truffle ravioli were equally impressive, showcasing the chef's skill in creating bold and delicious flavors. As for the American Wagyu ribeye, it was a true highlight of the evening, with every bite bursting with rich, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. Highly recommend Saddle Inn for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in NJ!

Always love going to the "Saddle River Inn." Fabulous service, superb food & a great atmosphere. The only negative, it is so popular difficult to get reservations. However, its worth your effort to keep on trying until your lucky enough to get a reservation.

I love the Saddle River Inn but almost never get the table I ask for. Last night they said it was a table for 4 and set for 2. The table right next to it, exactly the same, 2 people were sitting at it. I love upstairs as it is a little more quiet. But they seem to have a problem sitting us by the rail. When making the reservation they ask if it is an occasion and it was my birthday. Not one mention of it. Why ask if nothing said.

Another outstanding meal at SRI. The wagyu beef caps just melted in your mouth and of course the truffle pasta cannot be described - so, so delicious. Tye, our waiter, is wonderful - knowledgeable, personable and just elevates the entire dining experience.
