Chris and his team provide a very niche service in the tri-state area. If you like driving your older vehicle in this climate you will eventually deal with corrosion issues. Garden State Undercoating is the one stop shop for corrosion prevention and corrosion repair on new and old vehicles. I’ve had multiple jobs done here ranging from body sheetmetal work, frame rot repair, and general mechanical work on my various aging Toyotas. The work came out great and everyone knows what they are doing. Everyone on the team is great and Chris’ communication is A+ (and I’m pretty terrible to get ahold of).

Took my 4runner for an undercoating and they were super easy to work with. Chris especially was very knowledgeable and was a fun person to work with. I even got asked by a tire center for the name of this place due to the awesome quality of undercoating they did. 10/10 recommend them, especially for Toyotas.

Heading north on a multi-state trip, traveling in 2 cars, my wife's car started to die on the Garden State. Quickly exited on the next opportunity, and literally drifted to a stop feet from the shop. Chris immediately diagnosed the issue (alternator) and sprang into action to replace it. Not only did he replace it, but spotted another adjacent issue and gave the car overall TLC. I was seriously impressed, and grateful that Chris turned an awful event into a great service experience. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I got a used 4Runner and was looking a place to do undercoating because I am planning to keep the vehicle for long. After some searching and I decided to try this place. As other said, you need to book an appointment about 1.5 month ahead.
Chris and his team took care of my car well, and did a good job on the undercoating. They know what they are doing and explained well about what they plan to do.
Definitely recommend Chris and his team!

Garden State Auto Repair is the real deal. The frame on my Toyota Tundra has never looked better. They did a great job and Chris communicated with me every step of the way. I would highly recommend them !

Chris at Garden State Undercoating is both a professional and an artist. I had my 200 series treated and plan on bringing my 80 in the fall. The detailed attention paid to my truck is without comparison. He provided the highest level of communication before, during and since the work has been completed.
Chris’ enthusiasm for what he does is obvious from the moment you meet him. And the quality of his work keeps him busy.
Can’t recommend Garden State Undercoating highly enough.

Had my 2012 FJ in for some much needed rust remediation. Chris and his crew were exceptional to work with, keeping me updated on the progress and the job was completed on time. I had a rust spot cut out on the frame, the entire underside ground down to the bare metal, painted and. then coated with WoolWax. The skid plates and the rock rails were ground down and had bedliner applied. The whole undercarriage looks fantastic...should have done this years ago. Highly recommend Chris and his crew!

Chris is awesome! Huge help. I'm not big on car knowledge, and he helped me understand everything I needed to know. He also gave me advice on future things to fix on my car to help it feel like new again. After fixing my control arms and motor mount, I will be going back for any issues- big or small!

I can’t thank Chris enough for the care he took of my 2006 Lexus GX470. I was told by a non rust repair expert that my GX would not be on the road much longer. I took my car to a few shops and all said they could do it but didn’t get into much detail about the job. As soon as I took it to Garden State Undercoating I knew I was in the right spot. It was a Saturday and Chris was really busy but he said just give him some time so that he could get it up on the lift. Once it was on the lift he had his welder went through the car and explained everything to me. He showed me all the spots they would cut and fabricate with new metal and what they would just clean up. Throughout the entire process Chris communicated everything with me including pictures of the progress. He even found some lines that needed to be replaced and sent me over pictures and asked if I would want that done. He went out of his way to source the parts from Toyota/Lexus and took care of those items as well. Chris even went ahead and changed out some parts I needed that wasn’t related to the job he was doing. And to top it all off he noticed my headlights were oxidized and took care of that for me. I highly recommend Chris and the team here. They take pride in their work and it shows. My GX LOOKS BRAND NEW underneath and I know now it’ll last forever in these northeast winters. Thanks again Chris!

Very responsive, honest and great work! Put shocks in on my 4th gen Acura TL, great price, communicated with me every step of the way and car rides like new again. Even gave a follow up call after I picked car up. These guys take pride in what they do and it shows in their work. Highly recommend

After 3 years of owning my truck, I took it in for service only to be advised that it was a hazard on the road. The frame was so far rotted that the truck was twisting during turns and the cab was no longer attached to the frame. I was told it needed to be junked asap. After extensive research I came across Garden State Undercoating. Although the frame was so bad, they took the job on without any issues. Chris was super professional, knowledgeable and explained the process as well as my options. You would not know it’s the same truck based on the before and after pictures. I am speechless and excited with the clean outcome of the work performed. Extremely satisfied with the experience and will recommend them always! Another Toyota saved by GardenState Undercoating.
