I read the reviews and figured this was a good place to have drawer chests made for a custom closet I was building. 2- 6 drawer sets and a 4 drawer set. Mario seemed attentive, accommodating. When the job was finished I drove to pick them up, his shop had some really well made pieces. Unfortunately my build was not made to anywhere near the same quality. When I picked up the pieces they were already wrapped in plastic and I was unable to check their work. When I got home and unwrapped them, it seemed obvious why they were wrapped when I picked them up. Most (and I mean most) of the drawers wouldn’t open/close smoothly they were binding. Drawers were assembled worse than I can really exlain. Held together with finish nails instead of screws and randomly nailed. Just not how it should be done. The drawer bottoms were stapled into the bottom of the drawer boxes and not grooved in like they should be. After I spent a week fixing the fit of the drawer boxes and painted, my wife and I went to load the drawers with clothing and the bottoms inevitably fell through due to the poorly stapled bottoms. I’ve spent a month on this project and the one thing I used a “professional” for ended up being a mistake. If you use Mario, go over his work with an eye for shortcuts and poor craftsmanship before you pay. He can do a good job but it seems like he will cut corners if not kept in check.

Mario made a corner cabinet with upper and lower doors out of solid oak for us. Wife and I stopped by to watch the progress of our cabinet being made. There's no skimping on the wood. It's the real deal and really nice craftsmanship!! We're going back to see about 2 low rise book shelves!

Absolutely the best! We discovered Bare Woods and met Mario when we were looking for outdoor furniture. After seeing his incredible craftsmanship, we commissioned Mario to build two walls of custom closets for our home. The result is spectacular! They found creative ways to fit everything we wanted into our space, they paid attention to every detail in building, installation and finish. We look forward to working with Mario and his team on future projects.

We spent months searching in stores and online for a media center to hold my husband's extensive audio/visual components and my games, etc. No pre-made furniture met our needs. We went to Bare Woods in Ledgewood, NJ to check out unfinished furniture - again no luck with the pre-made units. Owner Mario Thomas worked with us to design a media center to our exact specifications. Mario and his highly skilled craftsmen built a beautiful hardwood cabinet - the finshing details and superb quality rate with the highest quality furniture you can buy. We met with his expert craftsmen to select the perfect gray wash finish and hardware to match our beach house decor. We highly recommend Mario and his team at Bare Woods!

I stopped by Bare Woods the other day, I was looking for some furniture for my sons bedroom, as I walked in I noticed a ton of different furniture to be honest it was very cramp and not really organized by sections. As I was looking I saw that some furniture had “Made in Vietnam” stamps on the back of it, so for a business that claims it’s custom but it’s made in Vietnam isn’t very promising. So the “owner” buys it for $80 then sells it for $385. A lot of the furniture was overpriced. When I talked to the owner he claimed everything that was there he made custom which frankly isn’t true since there a big “Made In Vietnam” stamped in blue on the back of it.

Mario and his team at Bare Woods are absolutely incredible! They aren’t just carpenters, they are artists! Talented, professional, fairly priced, and a pleasure to work with, these guys can do anything!Before finding Bare Woods, we tried for weeks to find a stain for our new vanity to match a sample cabinet from a kitchen and bath showroom. We took it to five different places and everyone said it was a custom manufacturing process that couldn’t be replicated. Then, we were referred to Mario at Bare Woods. He and John reverse engineered exactly how to do the multi-step finishing process and they matched our vanity exactly to the sample!

My wife bought me a new 65” inch TV for Christmas, only to realize we did not have a piece of furniture to put it on.After visiting Mario at his store, we were able to find a piece and discussed how to modify it for our house.They stained it in a shade similar to the color in the room.Solid wood, reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

Purchased a 4' cedar log swing for $477 which included delivery and setup. When the swing arrived a month later the legs were about a foot too long, the holes at the top were drilled very sloppy and on an incorrect angle, and the seat was not attached at the correct angle making it uncomfortable to sit on. Mario re-drilled one of the holes so that it was straighter and shortened the legs but quite honestly the entire assembly was very sloppy, especially for what we paid. I would not recommend this item or this business.

Run don't walk to this business for your custom or standard wood furniture needs. Impeccable workmanship, professional service; on time and at a competitive price. You get what you pay for and we are beyond pleased with our custom master bath double sink vanity and linen closet. Mario is an excellent designer, listens as well as suggests. We have bought other in store pieces as well, a storage bench for a mud room and an apartment sized table and chairs for my daughter. He even refinished an oak entry door. Mario is responsive and a true gem and has a team cut if the same fabric.

This is the third piece of custom made furniture we have purchased, along with some bar and counter-height stools. The other 2 pieces were custom-made storage beds. His work is great and he stands behind it. He will fix it until you are satisfied. I am about to go back for a fourth piece of custom furniture. Highly recommend.

Mario designed, built and installed a custom built cabinet system in our living room. He did an amazing job! He was an absolute pleasure to work with and his crew was awesome!!!
