I've been going to this store since I was 3. I'm so happy this place still exists. Every town needs a store like this one.

this is an amazing book shop owned by ray and his wife. i came here all the time this summer, and they sell books at such great prices. the whole place is covered in books, it feels so homey and safe in there, and never musty! ray is such a kind man, he supports local causes and is truly someone to show your support back... read full comment

I've been here a few times with my dad. The place is a treasure trove tucked away on a quiet street corner in Rockaway. I picked up a few books here that I liked when I was probably about 17-19. Ray is a very kind man that will happily recommend books to you. I would definitely recommend this place over a barnes & noble.
Established in 1984, Ray & Judy's Book Stop offers a plethora of great books belonging to very diverse genres. This independent, family-run bookstore is chock-full of great reads - you'll find everything between comics and cookery books here. A haven for comic book collectors, it boasts of a fantastic collection that keeps multiplying every week, the place also stocks on baseball cards, posters, magazines and other collectibles. They also have a section that's almost entirely dedicated to children - reading guides, toys and much, much more! If you're looking for a hard-to-find book or comic when in Rockaway, Ray & Judy's is probably where you'd get it. COVID-19 Mask Policy: Masks are optional.
