Shopping experience was fine, until I realized I was overcharged. I went back in the store to bring it to the cashier's attention & try to decipher my receipt. I was told that I couldn't "mix & match" sales. I informed him that I didn't mix and match anything. The items I purchased were on sale, and I had a coupon and an instant savings. I was basically told that whatever was on the receipt had to be correct. He came up with a flippant response that Dollar General wouldn't be so generous as to give me my items for 10 cents a piece. I had to laugh at the ignorance of someone who apparently did not have any basic math skills. I shook my head in disbelief, as I tried to explain to him how much 10 cents an item would be compared to my receipt. He couldn't comprehend what I was saying to him. I told him I would figure it out since he couldn't. I went back to my car to sort it out. I broke it all down and found I was overcharged by $5.33. I went back in the store, and tried to explain it to him again, to no avail. He kept insisting that however the computer calculated it, it was correct. He then started making random comments that DG changes their pricing at 7pm. I asked where that was posted, and he said it's policy and they can do what they want. It's at their discretion as to whether or not they wanted to honor pricing. I stated if the signs were up they had to honor the price. Furthermore, if the sale ends on Saturday, the prices are in effect until the close of store. He said DG has their own policy. I laughed as he seriously believed that he & DG could trump NJ Consumer Affairs laws. It was a long day and I just didn't want to continue to deal with someone with no common sense. I will be following up with Corporate & Consumer Affairs.

It is NOT a dollar store. Almost everything was more than $1. The store was overcrowded with stuff. Getting a wheelchair through it would have been impossible.

When did the Dollar General turn into a Walgreens. They literally have everything except for pharmacy. There’s food Christmas decorations and supplies house supplies personal care items. Feels like you can get everything here. I just stopped in to get a Tupperware for some Christmas cookies. It’s a snow day so I think they only had one person working which was fine because it wasn’t busy here. So I was attentive too quickly.

Nice products, good selection but don't expect everything to be a dollar, most things aren't. Came here to get supplies for a week vacation in a condo rental, I was able to get exactly what I needed for a good price.

Really good prices on everything but the layout of the store is confusing and kind of messy.
