This was our first time here for an emergency. We were seen in a very fair amount of time and each tech and Vet took a lot of time to observe and understand what was going on with our furbaby. Cleaner than a human hospital!! Friendly and personable staff and Vets. Thank you so much!!

Giving one star because I have to. My poor dog had a ruptured eye the other morning. We took him to his regular vet who checked him out and said he needed to see an ophthalmologist ASAP and she called ahead to NorthStar as it was closest. They said they could see us so we went there immediately. Upon arrival I did the intake forms and during that time the tissue that was retaining the fluid in my dog's eye fell out and his eye began dripping fluid and blood. He was triaged shortly after and we were told he'd be seen within an hour, hour and a half. Three and a half hours later and after two times of asking when he could be seen and telling the tech's about his condition while he stood there shaking and in pain... we are told it was "non emergent" and they would fit him in when the doctor had time between appointments. We ended up leaving and going to Red Bank Animal Hospital in Mount Laurel where he was seen immediately and had a great doctor.

Really horrible customer service. I called with an emergency my dog needed dialysis. She transferred me to a number. I leave a message with the company says they’ll get back to you within 72 hours that doesn’t work so I called right back and she took my name and my number and nobody ever called back. That’s just not nice way to treat people

Thanks a million to the wonderful staff at North Star emergency for taking such good care of our sweet Birdie girl this morning after she decided to swallow half of her rope toy. The check-in, triage, and treatment process was smooth and easy. I expected to be there all day, but we were remarkably in and out in under 90 minutes! Special thanks to Ashley up front, John the triage tech, Dr. Lee, and the other female tech whose name I did not catch, for being so wonderful with our precious girl. Cannot recommend enough and lucky to have such a stellar pet ER in our community.

Three weeks ago our 4 year old dog Louie was diagnosed with meningitis. We rushed to the hospital late at night and taken care of immediately. We were paralyzed with fear about the unknown.
We were told to see their neurologist Dr. Anne Chauvet.
Doctor Cheuvey started treating Louis in a very caring way. She told us that we could contact her either by phone or text at any time, which we did and she responded very quickly.
She's a compassionate doctor not only to the animals that she treats but to their owners.
Thankfully Louie is improving to her wonderful care!!!
Thank you Dr. Chuvet!!!!

Great emergency services for our fur babies. Very pleased with professionalism, costs and services at this location. The staff were very courteous, friendly and went above and beyond to address and reassure our concerns.

If you love your pet, don’t go to North Star unless you ~have an appointment~
We had an emergency where our dog had an allergic reaction. Our usual vet was open, but the doctor wasn’t going to be in for an hour and a half, so away to North Star we went. My dog’s eyes were swollen shut and he was panting, clearly distressed. We walked into emergency and the receptionist checked us in while having side conversations of her own, making us wait even longer for our dog to be triaged because she just had to finish her little conversation. Unacceptable reception.
We were triaged and I guess my dog wasn’t in imminent danger to them, so we were told to wait. And wait, we did. An hour and a half of waiting and no updates, however we saw 5-6 dogs come in and be seen right away due to appointments.
To pass over an emergency situation, call yourself an emergency vet, and leave my dog to suffer? Call me Karen and give me a manager, because I’m livid. We ended up walking out and rushing to our usual vet, knowing the doctor was then in. Our vet treated this emergency accordingly and we were seen within 2 minutes of arriving, even though we had no appointment.
Shame on you, North Star. I guess all of the horrible things I’ve heard about you ARE true.
PS. I’m glad my dog took a massive dump on your floor.

We've now had two positive experiences at North Star Vets. During this recent visit, despite a slightly longer wait time (the vet had to do rounds -- no one's fault) the vet and vet tech we saw were both excellent. Our concerns were addressed promptly, and our dog received immediate pain relief. We were impressed with the vet's thoroughness and compassion, especially considering our dog was trying to hide his discomfort. We highly recommend North Star Vets for their quality care.

I had a wonderful experience bringing my cat Rudy here who ended up needing surgery. While there was a wait to be seen, it is an emergency room so that was expected, i have never been to a human emergency room without a wait. Everyone was friendly and extremely knowledagable. The most important thing was that I felt very confident in the doctors, nurses, and this facility which has everything that could be needed. They did an amazing and thorough job, and i would never hesitate to bring any of my pets here if needed in the future.

I am just blown away by the staff at Northstar. The front desk people, the vet techs, the doctors I was in for the last week with my cat Daisy. They .diagnosed her with acute kidney failure, and there was really nothing that could be done other than keeping her comfortable.
Every doctor there is phenomenal and has been compassionate to my animals over the years however, I have to give a special shout out to Dr. Stacey Rebello. Not only did she always call me back with an update. After Daisy was discharged, she followed up with me twice to check in and see how Daisy was doing. She took the time to listen to me talk about Daisy, and tell me some of her experiences and she just made me feel like she really cared. And I truly think she did. Thank you Northstar for making a horrible situation easier.
