I have been to Bookends for many book signings, they are always handled very well, an enjoyable experience for me.

Bought 2 pairs of girls red flannel pajama pants as a Christmas gift for daughters in December. Returned them in December as well asking for a size up, as they run small. Was told to check back in February. I did. Nothing. We are now 3 months past and one might think the manager would recognize that Christmas is long over and it's almost spring. Maybe he should chalk it up and do the right thing?? Still waiting for some courtesy.

Love this place! Such a cute quaint. Little bookshop. A place where you can get lost in the shelves!

Horrible experience at the David Duckovny signing yesterday called up the store the day before to find out if he was posing for pictures I was told yes to then find out during the signing that he wasn't not to mention that I was practically pushed away when I got to his table didn't even have a chance to interact with the guy very disappointing nothing but a wasted trip

Had to buy a birthday gift/book for a friend turning 70 years old and Bookends was the closest that sold the Peter Attila Longevity book. I went in and the middle aged guy behind the counter pointed to the area where the book was located, while on his cellphone. He rang me up and I asked him if the gift wrapped and he said no. However there was a roll of gift wrapping paper clearly visible behind the counter and ribbon i might add. Then i asked for those gift bags that most book stores carry and they did not. He was not pleasant and seemed put out by my purchase. From now on I will go to the new Barnes and Noble opening on rte 17!

Went to the John Densmore signing yesterday and got a pre signed book when I thought he would have personalized it like others that I attended. He did not answer any questions or signed anything else. He said it was do to his age and covid. If he can't do it he shouldn't do it at all. It was a waste of time (4hrs in a car) and money. The store should have told the public that before hand..

Never again will I attend any event there. Staff is nothing but rude! And when I asked if I can claim a poster, I was told I can grab one after everyone had left, only to find out they were given away to staff.Obnoxious place altogether.

They oversell their book signing events leaving ticket holders outside for hours while they miss speeches. They rush people through like cattle. I have been to two events now and in both cases I have had more personal interactions with a cardboard cutout than with the authors. The staff is rude.

Wonderful store, located in a beautiful town, which was lovely to walk around. Had the honor of meeting Bob Odenkirk on Oct. 8th. The event was well organized, staff was friendly and I will have smiles for days. Highly recommended as a great location to meet and get your books signed. Well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive.

Amazing store that brings in stellar talent for book signings…super organized and respectful treatment of all of the customers, providing an awesome and memorable experience! Bookends is a local treasure, but really should be a national treasure!

I traveled to Bookends from Kingston, NY to meet a person i really respect and admire only to get shuffled and rushed around by staff and to not even “meet” matthew. I paid for a two second one experience in which no one was polite or thankful that i took time to be there and buy the book. My friends felt disrespected as well. I will remember this day and unfortunately not for the right reasons.

One of the best remaining small bookstores around. It reminds of the traditional way people used to acquire knowledge and erudition and meet the authors.

We went to get some books for a friend recovering from surgery. A good but somewhat limited selection, some titles were questionable for me. Prices were a bit high for other items. That said, we were able to find something for my friend.
