The only people I really ever let do my hair, ESPECIALLY when it comes to color. I'm a 22 y/o and while all my friends are followers of some of the more boutique or trendy salons in and around Ridgewood, this place gets it right, always. Gina is the best!!

I love Around the Corner. Lauren gives the best blow outs and haircuts. I always feel pampered when I'm there and the shop has great energy. The owner Sandy is always friendly and inviting. I specifically started coming here for the organic color it's great and I always get tons of compliments on my hair.

Been going here for 35 years. I've always loved it!!! They are so nice and I take my kids there as well and the lady that cuts their hair is very kid friendly. They cut my hair always how I would like it. Lauren is very friendly and does an excellent job

I showed Gina a picture of the type of highlights I was seeking. A lot of contrast between the highlights and non highlighted pieces, in other words I did not want to become a blond. The front came out alright, the back was a disaster. Huge clumps of blond that did not look natural at all.Not anything what I showed her, and given I had no highlights in the back at all previously, I am appalled. She offered to add base color in to give it more contrast, but I decided not. I went to another salon today, and they told me that adding base color on top of highlights damages hair, makes it brittle, kills the texture. Now i have to wait for this to grow out. I will be asking for a refund on the highliths tomorrow. And will write back on the shop's response.
