I am an out of state customer and no one in my local area had what I needed. Ramsey Hardware came up on my Google search for the item and I telephoned the store. Dan answered and he was extremely helpful. He told me to order the item online and he would ship it out. Took him less than an hour to do so. That is great customer service. I highly recommend this store.

I have been going to Ramsey Hardware for over 10 years. I can count on Mark, Peter, Paul, Dan to help with whatever I come to them with. Ramsey Hardware is more of a value than any big box store ever can give you because of the service that you get from Ramsey Hardware that you likely don't get from any big box store. I can pop in and out of Ramsey Hardware quicker than I can with those big box stores.

I can always count on friendly and informative service here. They are happy to explain when I have questions. They also have explained to my son, so he can learn to fix and repair. My first choice any time I need household items/repairs.

It’s such a delight to have a friendly and helpful old-time downtown hardware store here in Ramsey. If you haven’t yet visited, may I strongly encourage you to do so. Mark, Pete and the crew are so approachable, down to earth and knowledgeable. There are no “**** questions”, it’s a “safe space” in that they are patient and have a kind twinkle in their eyes to help advise or find that tool or product that you forgot the name of, and can only describe. Recently, I’ve brought some old table lamps in for rewiring to modern safety standards (!), and the work was wonderful. Did I mention they also fix stuff ? After your first visit, you’ll be family, and finding reasons to stop by. I love picking up that item on my shopping list, and then wandering the aisles for my entertainment, always finding additional things that “I didn’t realize I needed” !

I agree with other's comments that these guys know their stuff. If you need help with a project or just don't know what you need, they are indeed very helpful. That being said, remember the 80's commercials for Crazy Eddie's? Well, these guys' prices are INSANE. I will gladly pay a bit more for a local mom and pop with friendly and helpful service, but it's really tough to swallow their premium. For a gallon of Benjamin Moore Regal Select, they want $73, a 12% premium over other local BM retailers' $65. For Fresh Start primer, $57 vs $46, a 24% premium. And for a roll of Frog Tape, $14.59 vs $9.98 at HD, a 46% premium! Again, always happy to support local, but my wallet can only stomach so much. I really wanted this place to be my go to local hardware, but for most items, a few extra minutes of driving will save me MUCH coin over time.
