If you're coming as a consigner, I suggest giving your clothes to another shop that has more transparency. It is never my intention to put down a small business, but I really hope Nearly New makes changes to improve the experience for consigners.First, there is a lack of transparency of pricing items brought in. You have virtually no say in the process, and once you give your clothes, it is up to the discretion of the manager to price the items. You also have no way of checking what each item is being sold for, unless you physically go there or call and ask. I wish there was more transparency and involvement in determining pricing for items. I was shocked to see a pair of brand new Banana Republic jeans (tag on) that I brought in be priced for a measly $12! For me as a consigner to receive $6 (since it's a 50/50 split) for a brand new quality pair of jeans is absurd. There was also an immense delay in receiving my payment. I honestly thought I would never even see it. Payment was supposed to go out late January, and it took almost another month to receive my payment, which I finally did receive recently. Called around six times to receive an update, each time I was told that it would be sent out in 2-3 days, when the payment was supposed to go out in late January alone. And, I have no way of even ensuring that this is the correct amount I was supposed to receive. I have no word about what items were sold, what they were priced at, and what the status is for the rest of my clothes that may still be on the sales floor. Just lack of transparency all around.I encourage visiting this store for great variety if you're a customer shopping around–but if you're a consigner looking to make some money from a transparent consignment model, I suggest going elsewhere.

Good place. I think ive been there 3 times at this point. Two of those three times there was something that caught my eye. The prices here are much better than greenstreet, but it is also seemingly less selective in what they accept, so it makes sense. Would recommend stopping here if you enjoy thrifting and are in the princeton area

I have to disagree with a few previous comments. I come from NY and this is one of my go to spots for thrifting deals. Staff has always been friendly and helpful in my opinion. I have found many great things here and will continue to shop.

Great place full of finds both eclectic and practical. My girlfriend and I are both twenty somethings in New York City and we consistently find better stuff (Levi's jeans, funky button downs, designers sunglasses, etc.) in here than in the hotshot thrifts in Brooklyn. Thanks, Nearly New!

I've been coming here for years with mostly good experiences, with the knowledge that there's not always going to be a lot of good finds. However I'm rating only 3 stars because the staff is rude, and as others have pointed out, the place is dirty and a lot of the clothing is really old, smelly, or torn. The prices are fairly low if you can catch them when they're having a sale, but I would not recommend this place if you're looking for quality.

It's a cute and charming little shop, but half the clothes are in poor condition. A few items caught my eye because they were unique and interesting, but most of the items that caught my eye did so because they were damaged. We're talking major holes, stains, and pilling. It's a lovely store with a great concept (from what I understand, it's a non-profit for one of the local schools) and the girls who work there are very friendly and helpful. The only issues I had were the damaged (and in many cases, overpriced) merchandise, and the fact that the store was poorly organized and kind of dirty. Overall it is a nice store that I would recommend to anyone who, like me, loves thrifting. Just so long as they keep a close eye out for damage on the clothing.

I believe the bad reviews of consignments being “lost”, consigners never being paid or having their items disappear. Everyone who works here seems nice except the owner who seems to only be in it for the money. This leads me to think that this is no longer a fundraising operation for PDS families to donate things to raise money for the school. The way it’s operated now, it seems purely for the owners’ profit and that she’s not in any rush to let people know about this change.Website now says “under new management” and some vague wording about how store still benefits the school. I wouldn’t be surprised if benefit was minimal and this sentence was included to mislead PDS families into continuing their pure donations (vs consignments) for the owners’ profit.Store is ok but owner gives off bad juju. Sorry to say it, but she doesn’t seem honest.

Incredible experience thrifting here! It’s a dream for a grad student budget. The owner and staff were attentive, kind and helpful. The prices are SO good compared to retail stores. I got a super nice Zara coat for $28, a CS Princeton sweatshirt for $12, an Ann Taylor cardigan for $12, and so on. All clean and nearly new or new condition (hence the name of the store)!

As a teenage girl who's on a budget but loves clothes, I can't get enough of nearly new! Their sales are always amazing as long as you go the first day.

Came for the 5$ sale and the store is very disorganized and dirty most of the items were torn and damaged or visibly and smellibly filthy and unwashed, definitely not worth 5$. Ads say everything 5$ or less this week but it is not true as the only items in the store that were in good condition or worth anything were not included in the sale the ads were misleading. Most of the staff seemed friendly except for one of them whom I believe to be the owner/manager she was rude and irritable Very unprofessional treatment I will not be returning due to an all around sketchy and undesirable experience

I loved this simple store, you need to look around to find findings. The prices are fair and the woman in the shop was kind and helpful
