My precious 17 years old cat Buddy has IBD and had a blockage and needed to see a vet immediately. My vet of 25 years would not see us. I called the nearest veterinary service which was Pompton Animal hospital. They took me in that Monday morning and Buddy was taken care of by Dr. Cattiny. Dr. Cattiny is a bigger than life personality with genuine kindness and a caring positive demeanor. I felt Buddy was in great hands. The staff was very busy but it was a happy busy. I was apprehensive and nervous when I arrived there but now I am happy that fortune smiled on me and I found a veterinarian of this caliber for my pets. Thank you Dr. Cattiny and staff. One of the most caring, capable, gentle, kind & professional Vets you will find. His main concerns are his patients.. he explains everything thoroughly to the two legged folks. He's taken care of all my animals for 30+ years and I would never go to anyone else.

Terrible vet, please go somewhere else. They killed more than one pet due to their BAD MEDICINE. They have teenagers with no education taking care of sick animals. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE MEDICINE, doctors are not emergency medicine trained and thet do not have the capability of taking care of truly sick patients. No pain management for your pet after surgery, improperly staffed, staff have no education or training, terrible terrible terrible medicine. The vet killed a bunny because be couldn't be bothered to sedate it for a tooth trim, he hit the bunny's artery and it bled to death. Please please please go somewhere else.

This place used to be fantastic. Would have given them 5 stars. Dr Kristen (who is gone now) was amazing and my anxious dog loved her. Now you can't get anyone on the phone ever, they've lost blood work - never bothered to call me about it, and I can't even get them on the phone for the new results so I can take them to a different vet for a 2nd opinion. No clue what happened, but it's embarrassing.

When I started three years ago, we were new pet owners and had just adopted two and on the very first Sunday morning one was lethargic. I didn't have a vet yet, and they were open and kind on the phone. Dr. Cattiny was warm and our dog needed emergency surgery. It was over $6k but I was happy he was saved. We continued to go for all regular visits, shots, simparica, and neutering, which was expensive also. Recently we gained a puppy and the first visit we waited 2.5 hours for a three minute exam and shot. The second shots two weeks later I waited 1.5 hrs. I then asked if there was a better time with less wait as I really can't spend an afternoon waiting for a two minute appointment and was told to come at 1, they do surgeries in the morning and I'd be the first appointment. Needless to say after sitting in the room for an hour I went out to see why, and was told maybe they could ask him to come in now? Seriously? I asked for the simparica trio for my puppy since Dr. Cattiny originally said two weeks before to just get it by the month for six months as his weight increases. I was told no by the person at the desk. I left. I called the next day to see if I could stop in but got a machine (save this for in a Minute) and left a message that I needed to pick this and records up for my pups. No call back. I then emailed them. No response. Monday I call again and am told someone will call me when the simparica and records are ready. No call. Wednesday I call and am told to come in for one month of simparica but the records have to be approved by Dr. Cattiny and will be emailed. Thursday I call and am lambasted by one of the rudest most condescending customer service people I have ever encountered. She proceeds to tell me they don't have an answering machine, if they aren't there it goes to Westwood. Well let's back that up a second, I definitely left a message and two weeks prior I called because one of my older dogs had a cough and I was told to call Westwood where I got a voicemail directly two times. It is a shame, they were so wonderful and warm (expensive but worth it for first class service). I am taking my three purebred hunting dogs to a vet that is at least respectful and caring.

Westwood Regional Vet Hospital- 5 stars, but like many others have said, PLAH is no longer a priority for Dr Cattiny. 2 stars for customer care and service, not for the Veterinary Drs- they are great- IF you CAN get in. Impossible to get appointment to see a Vet there. Impossible for a follow up appointment and impossible to reach a competent person for front desk support.

Very rude receptionists. Its like we're taking our pets for free. I waited over a month to see the vet and I walked out on my first visit I couldn't deal with the rudeness of the receptionist..... Took my pet here for rehab therapy and I didn't even meet the vet. The only polite and caring person was Adam.

Dr Cattiny has been our vet for 21 years.He is very knowledgeable.However it is impossible to reach him and the people answering the phones in Westwood are rude and absolutely nasty.They don't even answer the phones in pompton lakes anymore and they are never open.Today was the last straw.I called and they hung up on me and refused to take my calls after that.Dr Cattiny is away and I'm sure he won't be happy when he hears he lost another client.
