DO NOT BANK HERE. They do not answer the phone during business hours and will return your urgent calls days later. I was unable to access my account for days while no one was responding to my calls. When I finally got someone on the phone they didn't even stay on the line long enough for me to check if the issue was resolved (Spoiler: it wasn't). This is not the first time I have been put in this position with this bank and it certainly wouldn't be the last so I withdrew my money and am banking elsewhere. Save yourself the stress.

I believe in credit unions, but recently this has gone into decline. They were always a little slow about stuff and couldn't offer some services. But they've recently changed how one logs in to the online system and I can't do it. I've gone through all the directions many times for account recovery and everything. I've tried calling the phone number it says to call for trouble for 2 days and no one answers (just rings or sometimes says the box is full). I'm at a loss.

There are reasons to appreciate what this credit union can offer. The best interest rates on credit cards and loans. However, my recent experience with them leaves much to be desired. When I first joined them, they always advertised themselves as a refuge from excessive fees typically charged by banks, but now they do and do not even notify of you about it. A pay in purchase 4 turned a purchase into $310 in extra fees without notice…only a letter asking for a deposit. They charged $210 in NSF fees in one month without so much as one notice. They stopped sending me paper statements and do not alert the customer to an overdraft. This is a credit union acting more like a big bank ready to sock you with fees. The only difference is that the big bank will probably send you a text or mail. This credit union charges a monthly fee to keep a checking account open and they did not used to do that. This credit union is not so up-to-date with banking technology. For example, I can transfer money between other banking accounts more easily without trouble. With RFCU, if you write an account number on the deposit slip it will be rejected and then you have to go in person. It should be easier to move money between accounts—but I was unable to move money from a one account into my RFCU account.Their credit cards do not offer a way to pay online or setup an autopay. They do have mobile deposit.

Good luck ever getting your money out or getting someone on the phone. This “bank” is almost always closed and or unattended. Do not make an account here ever. There are absolutely 0 benefits. Any other bank will give 10x the customer service with 1/10th the headache.

HOLY POOPIES!!! Been with them almost 30 years and am dumbfounded at how the management has DESTROYED this credit union, especially under the guise of the covid pandemic, YEAH, I'm an owner ???The appearance of wrong-doing is astounding! If you are a member of the Rutgers's community, DO NOT BANK HERE, and if you already do, MOVE YOUR MONEY AND THINGS ASAP!!! Worse than a commercial bank and services them at your expense... 7 POOPIES !!!!!!!???????

Beware of these guys !! Save yourself and find any other bank or company to fund your loans. I don't know from where to start - unreachable customer care, lack of alerts, there is no protection of customer interests, their online platform is from the stone ages. They will charge $15 for an online payment, can you believe that. They will silently keep charging $30 as late fee without informing you for things that you wouldn't be aware of. Staff is rude, even a change of address will take 1 month to get done. Just stay away from these guys and save yourself from a ton of hassle and money.

I've had a savings account with RUFCU for a few years and finally used them for an auto loan. The rate was excellent and the process was very easy. I've always heard about the personal touch of using a credit union as opposed to a large bank but now I finally know what that is like. I plan to purchase a home/condo in the next 12 or so months and I have every intention of using them for my mortgage.
