I've been doing CrossFit for over seven years and I've done it in several locations in both New Jersey and New York. Since I've been going to Pennington I noticed they are by far the safest particularly since the Covid problem. They have good equipment and enforce strict Covid cautions. The owner and all the coaches are incredible, I would highly recommend this location. The other members are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is supportive. They also have a barbell class in the evening which I have joined and am pleased to say I've made enormous progress.

I've been going to PCF for about a month now. First off, you can't just start taking the regularly scheduled classes. You have to take Fundamentals which is a 3 day (1 hr/day) course where you are shown the basics of many of the CrossFit exercises. For me this was a workout!! There is a free teaser class which is held usually every Saturday (check their website for details) which you can attend prior to taking Fundamentals. I did not attend the teaser class and went straight to taking the Fundamentals. I was completely new to CrossFit so there was a bit of a learning curve for me. The fundamentals course is taught in small classes with other new people. There was no one else joining at the exact same time so the course I took was just me and an instructor. After completing the course you are free to sign up for any of the classes they have available. I am not the most outgoing person so I worried that I wouldn't fit in what I perceived to be the Crossfit culture. Don't let your preconceptions keep you from checking out PCF. There are all types of folks who attend classes here. You don't have to be super in shape or ultra outgoing to fit in. Everyone I met so far has been very nice and welcoming. Also know that all the workouts can be scaled to match your fitness level and comfort level. No one has pressured me to lift heavier than I was comfortable with and the focus has been on form instead of weight. All the moves are reviewed prior to the start of the workout to make sure that you feel comfortable performing them. The best piece of advice I have gotten from Lee, who is one of the owners, is "don't be intimidated by any of the workouts." Sometimes you'll walk in and see the workout of the day on the board and think "I'll never be able to do that." This is ok! Just commit to doing your best and working through it. Crossfit has shown me areas of strength I never knew and areas that I can strengthen.

Last Saturday I came to Pennington CrossFit for the first time and had a fantastic workout! We started with a fun, community-building warmup that had everyone laughing. Afterward, we methodically went through the steps of the "man maker" (consciously ignoring the term). I liked this part because it gave everyone an opportunity to get on the same page and focus on their technique. Joe went around and gave pointers to make sure that we were doing everything correctly. Finally, we had a twenty five minute AMRaP workout of man makers and 200m runs with a partner. Again, I really enjoy the partner and team-oriented nature. I find that it keeps me accountable, motivates me, and just makes the experience more fun. Bonus: I love how community-minded PCF is. On Saturdays in December they host local entrepreneurs with a pop-up shop in the gym!

Friendly owners, great rapport with members (making workouts just hard enough to do you good but not discourage) and supportive fellow members

I have been a member of Pennington CrossFit for over 4 years and it has changed my life. I feel strong, confident and physically challenged. The owners are so welcoming and the coaches are experienced and forever encouraging. I love that the members are from all age groups and not judged on their abilities but just encouraged and coached to do there very best.

Pennington Crossfit is run by an awesome team of partners who have created an outstanding experience. They offer a ton of classes and the box is large and well equipped. The instructors are enthusiastic, well trained, and run efficient classes. It's a friendly, competitive experience with students ranging in age from 18 - 67. It's the central part of my exercise routine.

The ownership at Pennington Crossfit has created an outstanding experience for all Xfitters. With plenty of classes, a host of super qualified instructors, and a variety of skill clinics and competitions outside the daily workouts. Pennington Crossfit has become an essential part of my physical fitness regimen. The work is hard, rewarding, and all students, young and old, love it. It has my highest recommendation.
