We've been a customer of Hopewell Valley Vineyards for many years, and the large groups of guests we bring there are consistently thrilled with the overall experience. From the wide variety of wines and fresh, delicious food, to the warmhearted and accommodating owners and staff, to the comfortable and clean venue, it's always a winner! It's also very easy to work with this winery to set up large-scale events, as they proactively reach out to ensure you've covered all the details (shout-out to Jess!), accommodating any dietary restrictions and sending clear documentation of costs. Plus, their pizza is amazing, thanks to their wood-fired brick oven and skilled pizzaioli! A not-to-be-missed gem of Central New Jersey!

Where to start? We could have said "4 and a half stars but could be 5 stars if only ..." but we'll save the "if only" till then end. We just moved back to Central Jersey after 20yrs in Central CA (so yeah, dig wine) and this place, in addition to having a very pleasant atmosphere set on a lovely property, also has very good wines. The Vidal Blanc & Chardonnay are medium bodied and not sweet (thank God) and really quite enjoyable The reds were the stand-outs for us with the Barbera & Sangiovese being top notch and possibly the best that we've had recently (highly recommended). Liz, who poured our flights for our visit, is both knowledgeable and personable and was very helpful and accommodative. Thinking back, pushing the rating up over the top may have been chatting with the owner Violeta. What a delight. Extremely charming and very knowledgeable about the wines & their wine making process. Her love of her place & their products truly shines through.Ok, wrapping up (yeah, we know, finally) with not a criticism but food (or wine) for thought. While the organization system & labeling for the flights tasting is maybe coolest thing we've seen for that (even including CA) the plastic tumblers used are a bit more conducive to a picnic or a fair (like Feast of St. Rocco up in Elizabeth etal.). It is not just aesthetics but the taste, feel, structure of the vessel, ability to safely swirl it for aroma release, etc. - on the bright side = if you like the taste well enough you can buy a glass of it and enjoy it to your heart's content - like we did.Long story less long - give Hopewell Valley Vineyards a try. We'll be back (just later in day next time to try the pizza!)

Nice place to visit. Good staff and easy going. They offer snacks, cheese plate to buy through the week and pizza on the weekends.

I hosted my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party here and the entire experience was lovely and seamless! Jess is a great event coordinator and was super helpful and responsive with all of our questions. 10/10 would have another party here again!

I had my baby shower here in October. It was everything I could have dreamed of and more!! The room was so cozy, welcoming and my guests absolutely loved it. We chose the pizza and appetizers for our food option and everything was so delicious. My guests were raving about it. Many of our guests are looking forward to coming back to do some wine tasting and attend some live music events. Jess made the whole planning process so easy, answered literally every question I had (even the ones I thought were possibly silly). She made sure I had zero stress and was so open with communication. If you’re having an event and need a space, I highly recommend Hopewell Valley. If you’re looking for somewhere to just check out, don’t wait, go now! I can’t wait to get back there!

Hopewell Valley Vineyards hosted a wine tasting for our brand new construction community. Violetta and Nicole went above and beyond to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all of us! They did more than just educate our group on the wines and their vineyard but tended to party needs that were not their responsibility (such as cleaning up after guests). They just wanted to assure everyone was having a great experience. It was so lovely and almost like we knew them for years! Cheers to Hopewell Valley Vineyards and their great tasting wines!!

Bad food, horrible service from one person, bad wines. If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst vineyard service and experience I have ever had. A couple of friends gathered here to catch up and get together for an enjoyable time but this was quickly ruined when one lady told us we weren’t allowed to bring some donuts from outside. We were buying $200+ on wines, pizza and other food from them, so I didn’t think that bringing something more to celebrate would be a huge problem. In the end I was like okay we won’t open them here BUT one lady literally followed us to our table and told us in a rude manner that she had to take the donuts and store them in the back!! She didn’t even let us keep them. Later, we ordered glasses of water for our table and a nice lady brought glasses for everyone to the table, BUT when we ordered water again from the first Lady that took the donuts she told us that she would prepare them but that we would have to walk to the bar to get them! It was a shock since the other lady gave us better service and brought the water to us, but we were not surprised of her continuous rude behavior. The whole time there we felt like we were being watched that we didn’t bring more outside food. In the end we ended up eating the donuts standing outside. It was very uncomfortable and unpleasant. On top of the bad service, the food and wines are mediocre. They need to rethink their business strategy

This place has potential, but was met with underwhelming service. I stood at the bar and no one greeted me until I said something, then shared I was never there and nothing was shared with me to help make a decision. You receive your wine in a plastic cup, unless you do a tasting, which I didn't even know was an option. The pizza was good, but the service left me disappointed so I left after I was done the pizza. Would not come back or recommend, which is disappointing because I really enjoy the wine and would've left with a few bottles.

Don’t Dare walk into this winery with a gift, or balloons!!First time visiting this winery. I’ve been to several around NJ. Tried to plan a casual get together with my family for my aunts 60th birthday. They advertised they had live music and food, so I thought perfect . There were 10 of us. I Didn’t think I needed any kind of reservation, I assumed it would be picnic tables outside or inside and you just kind of hang out and enjoy the day, which is the case at every other winery I’ve been to. Nope not here!! unfortunately I happened to walk in with two Mylar balloons and a gift bag for my aunt. The owner immediately came out and told me the balloons and gift were not allowed because I didn’t make a reservation for a “private event” and that it had to go back to my car. I questioned this policy as we were a small group there to eat and drink and wasn’t some “private event” that we needed any special accommodation for. The very rude owners response was in order to keep my balloons and gifts at our table I had to pay a $200 “event fee”. Shortly after a party of 3 women walked in a got a table next to us, with a gift bag , and the owner told them the same thing and made her take it back to their car unless she paid the event fee. How ridiculous is that??? As livid as I was, I didn’t want to make a big stink or have it ruin my aunts get together so I paid the absurd fee. And no it wasn’t like a deposit in which they deducted your food or drinks, it’s in addition to! We spent over $300 on wine and food for our group PLUS a $200 fee!! Now. You can walk into any other restaurant ANYWHERE with balloons and gifts for a loved one, and places far fancier than Hopewell winery and not have to pay such a ridiculous fee. On top of it, food wasn’t even good. pizza was subpar at best, cheese plate was a joke, and had to drink wine out of plastic cups. They will never get my business again on principle. Laurita or Working dog winery are both far better experiences.
