As far as I can tell there are only two Red, White and Blue thrift stores in the Northeast - one in Waterbury, Connecticut and this one in Paterson, New Jersey. I've made the journey to both locations multiple times and have yet to leave disappointed. Our latest excursion to the NJ location was no different. Right out of the gate, we got an unexpected bonus when we noticed a man selling tamales out of a cargo van in the parking lot. Now, if there's a better way to start off a thrift shopping sesh than with bootleg van food, I'm not aware of it. So we're obviously in for a treat. Both RWB locations are laid out pretty much the same with a massive selection of shoes up front followed by a housewares treasure trove that consists of what seems a like 50' long aisle strewn haphazardly with pots and dishes and smaller items in plastic bags. However, at the moment I'm pretty well set for nasty old Velcro sneakers and chipped depression glass and Bunnykins so we move to the real draw here - a half-century's worth of the moth-eaten sartorial discards of North Jersey's rustbelt. Now, I'll start by saying this is no suburban Goodwill or Plato's Closet and so if you're looking for nice-smelling North Face fleeces and Khakis, you're gonna be a stranger in a strange land. However, if you've come for corduroy and velvet blazers, bowling-themed garments, double-pocket polos, Western-themed snap-buttons, plaid golf slacks, padded hospital socks, paisley bathrobes, Barry Manilow t-shirts, vomit-hued cardigans or striped banlon, all grimy and caked up with that naphthalene and black mold-ridden thrift store goodness, then you are where you were meant to be. But of course stay outta my way because I'm tryna grab up all that nasty ass crap for myself. This day's haul included some great finds including many unfortunately-patterned sweaters and polos and a camel-skin blazer. But perhaps best of all - a custom T-shirt from a girl named Sophie's quince and the Brodhead Family's family reunion from 2015. However, the Holy Grail of the day's haul was without a doubt, the custom-printed Vince Vaughn collage sweatshirt. "You don't need that," sneered my wife when she saw it in the cart, though she must have known that I did in fact need it and there was zero chance I wasn't buying it.

since they use staples instead of plastic price tag fasteners some of their clothes get damaged. it'll b a garment in perfectly good condition that has a hole on the collar where the stapled price tag was... trying to remove the staples is quite tedious and stressful since it's possible more damage could b caused depending on how carefully you unwire them. i'm all for minimizing use of plastic but this isn't the best move plus, their prices aren't as affordable compared to other thrift stores' items. also they don't accept card- their atm charges a $3.50 fee to withdraw cash

I used to love coming to this thrift store, unfortunately nowadays the staff is damaging their own clothes that are for sale. Anyone who works in retail knows that sensors have to be placed in the inseams to prevent holes. This store is placing sensors right through the items, and it leaves a pin sized whole in the item. I’ve had to stop coming here because of this problem. Why would I want to pay for an item with a hole in it? It’s easily preventable. Please educate your staff and stop damaging your inventory. Attached is images showing the incorrect place for a sensor to be placed. I had to put back the item upon checkout because it left a pin sized hole right through the shirt.

My first stop. They aren't the cheapest, and their prices have just gone higher, but they have an amazing selection. Only take cash however, but there is an ATM in the store.

While there are bargains to be found, the fact that it is cash only is a turn-off in this day and age. If a store chooses this route, customers should be notified by a sign posted on the door rather than the cash register, only to be directed to an ATM. It's a red flag.

PROS: This place has a huge floor plan and a large variety of everything. It has furniture, toys, books, movies/cds, clothing obviously, glassware, bric-a-brac, you name it. The workers are friendly and there's tons of parking. Their hours are also very good and the place is clean and organized CONS: The prices are a tad high with some of the stuff--toys, games, bric-a-brac items specifically. For people around Paterson NJ that's a lot of money OVERALL: I will be coming back to this place in the future. its one of the better thrift stores. Just make sure you bring a lot of cash

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO INTO THIS STORE! Employees are very rude, no organization and I saw them mistreating a girl because of her nationality plus they made extremely bad accusations towards her. I bet anybody would like to go through that under any circumstances.

WORST STAFF EVER.These bunch of women are extremely rude and racist, saw them humiliating a poor girl because she was doing the wrong line and they were so mean with me as well. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to this place at least til they change these employees.

I will not be returning. Spent $35 and I’m upset I spent that. Spend your money elsewhere.*CASH ONLY* which I find sketchy.2) they WRITE PRICES on merchandise in black permanent marker. Due to their policy, I was unable to buy a $3 jewelry box because even though their sticker price was clearly attached and labeled, they would not allow me to buy because there was not a price written in permanent marker on the item. The jewelry box was velvet both outside and inside. This jewelry box will now be permanently damaged because of a marker.3) Parking is AWFUL.4) The store is dirty, unorganized and NO FITTING ROOMS.

First time here they have a great selection of merchandise, prices are not bad , but what I disliked is that its cash only, they don't take any credit cards, which I don't think is right bcuz everyone should pay taxes accordingly like everyone else. All the cash they make and bcuz it's cash they can report less to the IRS? No way, never again I don't support this type of business.

Soooo over priced, this is Not a thrift store. The close has stains and sometimes holes. Very expensive. Pay close attention to what you're buying cause you may not notice that its damaged.

My favorite thrift store of all time. They have a color discount system - you'd be pleasantly surprised once you pick out the best goodies for you. It does get a bit crowded and the parking lot is insane but we'll worth it in my opinion. I go almost every Saturday and never spend less than $60.

I love this place. Its a large store, where new inventory of wide variety is put out all day. The parking lot is always packed. Its gotten a little pricey lately but still very good deals on somethings. I find it a good place for household items and decent 2nd hand clothes, not sure for valuable antiques and big brand name stuff. When I go I also like to look around my house for good stuff that we don't use anymore to drop off there.
